missing people beverly didn’t know she should be missing was quite an ODD feeling, but fuck was it s t r o n g the moment she saw any of the losers’ faces. the best of friends she’d ever had. yet, all forgotten in the haze of childhood. “oh my god, mike !!” eyes crinkled along a joyous smile as she met him where he stood, arms wrapping around him in a warm embrace. MEMORIES — a deep voice, the day these bonds were forged, a bloodied rock, a different voice, one mentioning that he heard the name mike, though that one of the three immediately forgotten again. “look at you, all grown up.” she teased, squeezing once more before pulling away to get another look. “how the hell have you been ??”

mike was in a weirdly good place, mentally right now. most of his other friends had turned up and although he knew his memories weren’t quite right, at least he had the information he needed to keep going. and this gala was nice. seeing so many people with their loved ones, happy with each other, it put the nightmares he had of pennywise to the back of his mind. here, he could do what richie had asked of him - think about something that wasn’t it or the strange events that brought them to this town. what he could do, however, was be thrilled to see beverly. “you’re here too,” he exclaimed, stepping forward. “bev?”
cyan gaze scrutinized the selection of furniture laid out before her. finally, she was attempting to get her apartment fully together. an assistant fashion designer was a dream start of a career, but it meant living check to check. but, she was rather used to that. a COFFEE TABLE was the last missing piece to supposed adulthood. “do you think that one would be easy to put together ?? instructions are for wussies, so i refuse to use them.” beverly jested, with an airy chuckle. always so stubborn, yet equally DETERMINED. “i like to think the sense of accomplishment at putting it together without it is worth the struggle. like sure, some of my other furniture pieces are a little WOBBLY, but they work.” her usual, affable grin quick to appear. “or maybe this one would be easier ??” she questioned, pointing to another. “what do you think ??”
hands brushed through fabric samples, weighing her options for what she wanted to create next. however, at her name she turned to the other, confusion immediate. his face, so FAMILIAR yet near impossible to place. memories have always been a bit f o g g y , but that’s how it always got with age, right ?? “bill.” the name pushed past her lips before she fully recognized him, memories of a voice calling out ‘ hi-yo, silver, away !! ’, the quarry, a house on neibolt street, suddenly coming to mind. “holy shit !!” she chuckled, smile warm. “i’ve been here quite a while.” at least to her it felt like it. “portland didn’t work out,” she shrugged, already feeling desperate to keep up with her ever racing mind. “what about you ?? here i thought derry was small ; guess the whole world is.”

Bill had ran into a few members of the Loser’s Club, but he hadn’t seen all of them yet. There had been no sign of Pennywise, which brought both relief and a little bit of worry. While Bill wanted to believe that they were in the clear, but of him felt like it wasn’t going to be that easy. He had been lost in his own thoughts when his eyes landed upon a familiar girl. Bill could feel himself pause before he finally called out to her. “Beverly?” He questioned, jogging over to her. “Is that you? When did you get here?”

Draco had to admit that, although he was trying to give himself a fresh start, he really didn’t believe that anyone besides Hermione would give him the chance. Of all people, though, he supposed Luna would be most likely to, and clearly that was the case. ‘ That’s how I’ve chosen to see it. ” He spoke, hand absent-mindedly going to the spot where his dark mark once was. His tattoo was covered by his tuxedo sleeve, but still. “ I can think of about a hundred places that would be worse than this, surprisingly enough. ”

well, make that another thing the two apparently agreed on. they wouldn’t have believed they ever would a few years ago. but people evolved, luna would be one of the first to agree with that too. how dull, being the same person throughout one’s entire life. “well, college is certainly better than high school ever was.” luna may still be an o u t s i d e r to most, a friend a RARITY, but it was more common to see people being their true selves && not be questioned for it. “&& the states have way better food, even if we never went hungry back home either.” luna mused, attempting to lighten the air.
ben: yep, that's exactly why i keep you around
ben: maybe i'll dig up that denim vest i wore the day we met
ben: that would be a throwback, huh?
beverly: only maybe?🥺
beverly: but do you have a brown shirt and khaki shorts?
beverly: my hair is long enough to wear in a side pony again. MAYBE i'll wear it that way again 😊

Han felt ridiculous here, dressed in some suit that was way too tight and overall unpleasant, surrounded by people dancing. He was sure that if it weren’t for Leia, he wouldn’t have come in the first place. But here he was, and perhaps the first interesting thing that happened to him all night was when someone, who he assumed was a fan, came up to him. “ Uh, yeah. I think there’s a reason for that, kid. ” He held out a hand. “ Han Solo. You got a name? ”

perhaps it was RUDE to stare, but finn couldn’t help it. he knew of the past — the clone troopers that were made in the likes of jango fett, bred to serve. could something like that have happened again ?? it felt like han though. && that was something finn was having difficulty in understanding. “that’s not funny. we all know solo is —” words trailed off, jaw clenched tight. even now, it hurt too much to say out loud. finn shook han’s hand regardless. “it’s finn. we’ve met before though. you know — big deal in the resistance ??” a hint of a grin formed at the memory, but he also wanted to see what han ... or whoever knew.

This should have been a fun night, especially now that Beverly was here with him, but Ben just couldn’t bring himself to let loose. One would think that, with this being the second time that Bev didn’t remember their relationship now, he’d know what to do, but unfortunately he was just as lost as the last time. “ Hey, if anyone here’s wearing a clip-on, it’s Richie. Not me. ” He chuckled softly, trying to stop his expression from falling but ultimately failing. Suddenly he felt as though he was twelve years old again. “ I dunno, maybe. ”
🎈❤️🔥
brows furrowed tightly in immediate CONCERN at his fallen expression. her heart ached deeply to see him upset, it always had. this time however, the feeling was accompanied by the inkling suspicion that she was missing something. a stir of the heart that only started when she saw ben && some of the other losers again. hands grasped his arms, squeezing them comfortingly. “hey, i’m already missing that smile. besides, you got it. keep hangin’ tough && take it step by step. maybe we can even ask the boys in the band to play one of your favorite songs to make you feel better.” face remained stoic for only a moment before beverly could no longer hide her smirk. perhaps too many NKOTB references, but she couldn’t help herself — she had time to make up for. “&& if not impressed, their loss. plus, that simply means you’re stuck with me the rest of the night.”
if it weren’t for already knowing richie && for the unfortunate circumstance of henry bowers’ knife meeting ben’s skin beverly wasn’t sure she’d have ever been a loser ( well, a loser yes, but not a member of the club ). strange how strong a friendship could become off of bumming a cigarette, a mutual addiction turned into unknowingly needed company. the TRUST between the two young adults splayed out on the bed indescribable. bev’s nightmares had gotten worse — the morphing of her father && the clown now joined by another man. unnamed, but just as horrifying. ‘ no one will love you like me ’ — a constant echo. as expected, with richie those words were easy to push out of her mind, the bright memories of shared ice cream cones && yo-yo tricks at the forefront. his words brought on beverly’s usual smirk. “pretty sure that’s already a question, tozier.” but she caught onto the slight shift — expression solemn as she tilted her chin down to look at him. digits softly tangled in his hair, massaging scalp comfortingly as fresh cigarette dangled from lips. “what’s up ??”
@heartsofember - bev
Out of everyone in the loser’s club, it was weird that he was closest with Beverly. Sure, Stan and him had been the closest growing up but things were different. Richie loved Stan, and the same with Mike. He loved them and so in a way they had a piece of his heart. But his closest friend in the group was hands down Beverly Marsh. He would kill for that girl and he always dropped everything whenever she needed him. Including tonight when she had texted him to come over for a smoke. Which led them to laying on her bed, his head in her lap, smoking and just talking. Richie was dramatic and energetic but even he liked these moments. The quiet ones. They had been talking about old things, memories that they’d had, when things had gotten quiet for a moment. “Hey, Bev, can I ask you something?”
while she loved seeing most of her childhood friends again, beverly sensed that it wasn’t all quite as HARMONIOUS as one would like it to be. she could see wanting to have a go at normalcy. after all, until they showed up && she in turn remembered derry && the summer of ‘89 that’s what she had in a small sense. perhaps it was because she didn’t remember it all, because she didn’t exactly know what she was fighting for or running from, but she had to know what was going on in this place in hopes of once again remembering everything. she waved to bill as she walked in, grabbing her own cup of coffee before sitting across from him. “how’s it going ??” in life && with figuring out what all was going on. “looks like things haven’t changed much from the party, with the border anyways.”

Part of Bill thought that Richie was right, that maybe they should just stay here and take advantage of this second chance. However, the other part of him felt like they had to at least prove this wasn’t Pennywise. His reasoning being that if they could get rid of the threat, it would be easier to relax if they knew they there wasn’t something constantly lingering over them. It seemed some of his friends agreed, or so he thought. Hoped even. Sitting at a table in the coffee shop, his hands moved the cup in front of him around, his mind wandering a bit as he waited for Beverly to arrive.
