“It’s kind of like having another person with you in real life tells those voices fighting with you in your head to hush up.” She commented, gesturing to her head as she spoke. “Jo March.” Jo introduced confidently, as if it was a name that was going to mean something one day, which she was determined to make true. Hearing her comment, the writer couldn’t help but laugh and shrug her shoulders. “Well, there are four March girls total and we’re each different in our own way. So, you could say we balance each other out, but for the most part I think we just try each other insane.” She replied. Moving with the girl, Jo eyed the desk she was pointing out and let out a small sigh. “Well, I’m a writer you see. Currently just doing little short stories and things for the local paper, but I’m planning to write the next great novel. Something people have never seen before!” Her words came out fast and she was proud of what she planned to do. “I agree on the chair thing though. The chairs at work are terrible and I refuse to have my chair at home be the same way.”
・・・・・・
instinctively eyes widened at the thought — four girls. while of course not all were vindictive, but a group of any always made her a bit apprehensive. greta && her squad left a longer, deeper impact on bev than she would ever like to admit. “well that just means you’re doing your jobs, right ?? some of my friends are more like brothers ; if you don’t annoy them every once in a while there’s no sense of accomplishment.” beverly jested, a light titter chimed as gaze warmed. beverly listened intently, talk of DREAMS, seeing others light up with all they wanted to do, bev loved to see it. meant even after all the shit in the world there was still HOPE. “i’ll make sure i keep my eyes peeled at any bookstore for ya. any genres you like in particular ??” nose scrunched, nodding along in agreement. “a bad chair will make you feel old with all the inevitable back pains. too young for that shit. but your work should definitely try to do better. forty hours a week is already torture enough at any place.”
I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having f r i e n d s.

Rue’s eyes went wide. It wasn’t a question that she’d expected, and she honestly had to think for a moment before answering. “ Well, right now I’m reading Pride and Prejudice. We didn’t have a lot of books like this back home, and so far it’s a pretty good read. ” She smiled, holding up the book in question. “ I don’t know, it’s hard for me to pick a favorite. ”
"a fan of LOVE i take it ?? well, it is the season, can’t fault you for that.” luna knew it was a classic, but it was one she had yet to read. “i’ll take your word for it && get it,” she nodded with a knowing smile. “i guess it was rather unfair of me to ask. there’s so many && sometimes it depends on the day.” a pause, she racked her brain for how even she’d answer that question. “ — have you heard of area 51 ?? i read a book about it once, had evidence to support the study of aliens there. i quite enjoyed that one. then again, to say it’s my favorite ?? it’d be a stretch.”
edgcofgreat / ben hanscom * !!
This should have been a fun night, especially now that Beverly was here with him, but Ben just couldn’t bring himself to let loose. One would think that, with this being the second time that Bev didn’t remember their relationship now, he’d know what to do, but unfortunately he was just as lost as the last time. “ Hey, if anyone here’s wearing a clip-on, it’s Richie. Not me. ” He chuckled softly, trying to stop his expression from falling but ultimately failing. Suddenly he felt as though he was twelve years old again. “ I dunno, maybe. ”
🎈❤️🔥
brows furrowed tightly in immediate CONCERN at his fallen expression. her heart ached deeply to see him upset, it always had. this time however, the feeling was accompanied by the inkling suspicion that she was missing something. a stir of the heart that only started when she saw ben && some of the other losers again. hands grasped his arms, squeezing them comfortingly. “hey, i’m already missing that smile. besides, you got it. keep hangin’ tough && take it step by step. maybe we can even ask the boys in the band to play one of your favorite songs to make you feel better.” face remained stoic for only a moment before beverly could no longer hide her smirk. perhaps too many NKOTB references, but she couldn’t help herself — she had time to make up for. “&& if not impressed, their loss. plus, that simply means you’re stuck with me the rest of the night.”
a whole 27+ years of memories just gone ?? apparently so. the news was UNSETTLING && adding the fact that they were now TRAPPED here only made it worse. it made it easy to down the free alcohol, however. bev had just finished another glass when she felt someone’s grasp. instinctively arms crossed in front of her however she’d recognize that voice anywhere ( even if it was much deeper than when she last heard it ). instantly she relaxed, practically throwing herself into his arms as she shook her head. “don’t you DARE try to pull away that quickly, richie dear !!” a tight squeeze, elated tears billowing in eyes before drawing down cheeks. memories or no memories, beverly knew it had been too long since she’d seen her best friend. “fuck you by the way, making me mess up my make-up,” she quipped as she slowly pulled away, she’d blame the liquor for the tears later. bev wiped them away as a knowing smirk crossed her lips. “well for supposedly looking this good it took you way too fucking long to notice me. i’m almost hurt,” tone nothing but teasing. bev finally managed to take him in. bev playfully looked him up && down before cupping his cheeks, giving one a solid pinch. “you’ll be breaking hearts tonight, richie rich. i told you, you’d grow into your looks.”

Richie had been so excited to see all of the losers for different reasons. Stan and Mike had been for more…hidden reasons, ben and bill had been pure happiness in seeing that they were okay and alive and still them, eddie had been a relief, but nothing compared to seeing Bev. Sure, he was really close with some of the other losers, some even competed for the girl’s spot but no one ever won. Bev was the reigning champion of ride or die’s in Richie’s mind. So seeing her standing there in the corner of the ballroom, looking as if she was trying to find someone, Richie found no better opportunity to rush up to her and just grab her close. “Bevvie baby! I can’t believe it’s you!” he said holding her close before releasing her, realizing that rushing to hug her may not have been the smartest idea but hey….it was him. “You look so good tonight, you know that? I mean all the loser’s do but wow…do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you to show up? You sure do know how to keep a man waiting, Beverly Hills.”
seeing everyone else joyous at such a celebration, finn felt like he should be as well. but he couldn’t. he was not long ago, when the resistance finally saw VICTORY, but it seemed that would be short-lived. perhaps he was foolish to think it would take time for palpatine, supporters, or even someone or something new to make such an impact. but whatever brought him here, it felt d a r k . even at the sight of a younger someone who represented light, HOPE ; for it couldn’t be her. “general organa ??” the name slipped his tongue regardless, dark gaze immensely confused. @impcrishable / leia organa.
seeing familiar faces around ivywood was becoming a more common occurrence. it was always a bit of relief, regardless of the individual. regardless also, if what they remembered && what luna did some of the time differed. despite how troubling the times were, luna did miss home, especially their dad. so if he couldn’t be here, it was nice to at least have a few people from back home. “hermione !!” smile genuine, warm. “it’s so nice to see you too. what a surprise, though a very good one indeed !!” they chimed, gaze moving between her && the ballroom. “i love your dress. seeing you && being in this place, reminds me of home in a way, you know ??”
Other than a few of the adults and Ginny and her kids, and Draco of course, Hermione really hadn’t seen anyone from her hometown here. The adults were all off doing their own things and Hermione was still trying to remember exactly what had happened over the past years of her life. So to see Luna there at the ball made things feel calm, for the first time in awhile. Even if Hermione found the girl a bit odd, she was a welcoming presence. “Luna! Look at you! You look wonderful tonight.” Hermione said walking up to her. “It’s so good to see you, you wouldn’t believe how much of a sight for sore eyes you are.”
EARTH — quite a strange system, even stranger having never heard of it before. they’d won the war ; certainly palpatine couldn’t have found a way to come back again ... && again, right ?? racing thoughts shortly stopped however at the sight of the other. the FORCE could do many things, but it couldn’t bring back the dead. finn knew he was foolishly HOPEFUL, but the words came before he could stop himself. “has anyone ever told you that you resemble this one famous rebellion general ?? or —” a younger version of him. “ — sorry. guess i’m just trying to find familiar faces in everybody,” he attempted to quip. @edgcofgreat / han solo.
finn’s feet carried him towards the other before he could stop himself. he’d recognize the jedi anywhere ( with the force helping guide him or not ). finn’s smile dropped slightly at the immediate question. finn had rather hoped the other had all his memories, that he wasn’t afflicted like many of the others around town. but nonetheless finn was relieved, seeing luke alive. “we have. but not here.” he was quick to add, knowing how confusing, perhaps painful it’d be to not remember it all. “&& in a different time,” brows furrowed, though finn offered a comforting grin. “but it’s okay. i’m finn. i was part of the resistance with your sister, general leia. though i know that might not mean anything to you now.”
@heartsofember requested a starter | luke and finn
maybe it was just for luke but despite having very few memories of his past, things were going really well for him. unusually well, in fact. he was getting to know his brother in law, han; he’d met an amazing guy who didn’t seem to judge him for the fact he had galaxy-sized holes in his memory, and his job was relatively stable. all things considered, luke was having a great time of it. but he was getting concerned with the hazy moments of deja vu when he met certain people. like the guy walking towards him at that moment. he wasn’t certain that he’d met him but something inside him said the guy was important. “hey, sorry. have we met?”
this whole evening seemed like a horrendous idea. always such a waste, whether that be food, recourses, or time. it practically mirrored a party at the esteemed president’s mansion. ivywood already made her uneasy, && this only made it worse. all the more so when someone in particular caught her eye —— someone she’d known for years, had studied prior to her own games && worked alongside for the rest. but it was IMPOSSIBLE. capitol mutts — their eyes resembled past tributes but certainly the capitol couldn’t do more ... she hoped. johanna waited until he was alone to approach, immediately defensive, gaze cold. “what are you ?? — who sent you ??” @spcllbovnd / finnick odair.
social gatherings weren’t exactly johanna’s thing, but she’d be anywhere that had a good drink. velvet bourbon was one of her favorites because they didn’t stiff on the alcohol like most places did. a few drinks && she was almost happily buzzed, enough at least to not be a total asshole. though, admittedly, she almost laughed at the sight of entertainment. “yeah, people around here are dicks. they never change, not matter where you are.” johanna mused, dark gaze wandering over the stain. “that’s not gonna come out. they like their drinks fruity && dark it seems. an asshole who also has bad taste.”
Alec spent just a little too much time at Velvet Bourbon, but he was a social guy and liked to people-watch. At least, this Alec did. Normally, Alec Lightwood would be off working, or spending time with his family, not slicking his hair back in a small mirror in the corner of the dining room. After he determined that every hair was perfectly in place, he turned and was immediately met with a spilled drink on his shirt. “ Hey, this is brand new! ” He called out to the person who had now completely walked away, as if nothing happened. “ Asshole. ” He muttered, reaching for a napkin to blot at the stain.
kissed you when i saw you. stared deep into your eyes. i meant to say ' i love you ', but instead i said goodbye. shadows in the city ; i'm a stranger to myself, on these streets i'm someone else. shadows in the city ; like a demon in the dark come to tear us apart.
