“Who would want that?” Scorpius commented, laughing once more. He wasn’t sure who the person in front of him was, but he was thankful for them. Even in the short conversation they had so far, it was starting to make him feel better about the day. Listening to them, the young wizard couldn’t help but tilt his head in thought before speaking. “Are you just some mysterious person who walks around town granting everyone with some grand wisdom?” He asked, letting out a smaller laugh this time. “But you’re right. Going around and learning more about the town might actually help me out.”

luna’s genuine grin only widened all the more, a meek shake of her head. “i wish i was that cool. && had all the knowledge of the world at my disposal.” if they did, they certainly would then understand the mysteries of this place, be reunited with their father && chosen family once again. “but i probably just people watch more than most. && i like to read. books have a lot of wisdom. even books of fiction can have valuable lessons in them.” expression turned sincere, “i hope you do find whatever it is you’re looking for. or it finds you, life tends to work out that way too. don’t worry, that’s the last bit of wisdom i have left.” luna jested with a slight, warm chuckle. “i’m luna lovegood. thanks you know, for talking with me.”
mike took a moment away from the ball’s festivities, enjoying another glass of whatever beer was on tap. after practically living at frat parties he learned not to be too picky, even despite usual high standards. raven brow arched at the others words before they wrinkled in confusion. “sorry dude, am i supposed to know who that is ??” mike was a hot 100 billboard kind of guy. “what’s the genre ??”

swirling the champagne in his glass, steve rogers stood against the wall, the corners of his mouth upturned as he watched everyone dance. he’d always been fond of dancing, but at the moment, he had decided to simply observe. and anyways, the music wasn’t exactly what he was used to. he wasn’t even sure he knew how to dance to it. “ you think if i requested some ella fitzgerald, it would cause an uproar? ”
ben: oh my god you're kidding
ben: i've gotta find somewhere to hang it up, i'm sure my clients will love that during video calls
ben: i promise, i'll act as surprised as i can
beverly: oh for sure. it'd scream professionalism.
beverly: but i understand if you still wanna hang it behind your door🤣
beverly: you also have to promise you'll listen to them with me.
“— you ... you remember me ??” he may not have been the lando finn had known, but there was no question it was him. thank force. for one of the first times that evening finn felt a bit more RELAXED. “there is, but don’t worry ; they have nothing on your style or capes.” finn mused, a short laugh breaking from him. having someone to talk to, a friend, finn felt like maybe there was hope in figuring this all out. “perhaps a bit ago i would’ve agreed. but i’m not sure we know what we’re up against yet. have you heard about the border ?? apparently there’s no way in or out. but there’s gotta be a flaw.” there always was.

“ seems the gang’s getting back together. ” lando’s smile was warm, genuine as he laid eyes on the younger man. he couldn’t explain how they were all ending up here, but he would never complain about seeing yet another old friend. “ it’s good to see you again, finn. and thankfully under much calmer circumstances this time. ” taking a sip of his drink, he glanced around the ballroom before returning his attention to finn. “ certainly is a pageantry on display tonight, isn’t it? ”

Marley was somehow good at making decisions, especially if it wasn’t about herself. She could indulge into someone else’s life without ever having to think about her own. So, when the other had said that they did need the help, Marley let out a content sigh, soon a smile spread over her features. If she had learned anything while being in Ivywood, it was that it wasn’t as different as Lima, Ohio. Well, other than random people waking up here. Other than that, she found similarities between the two small towns. “Well, I’m definitely glad to help!” And with that, she went around to a few different clothing racks, picking and grabbing different clothing items for the other to try. When she finished, she returned with a smile. “I think these would look good on you, too.”

the one shirt was all the help finn expected. while used to the community back on the resistance base, he doubted many other places could even come close to replicating it. how could they ?? after seeing && going through what they all did together, those bonds were forged. he couldn’t expect much from such a place he knew little about, but the kindness of others was a surprise, but welcomed. eyes widened with each additional item she picked, smile genial as he chuckled. eagerly, he took her suggestions without question. he may not have ever picked them for himself, but he found he liked them regardless. “see, i never would’ve picked any of this out. back where i’m from we just kinda wore what was durable.” a shrug, his smile only widened. “i’m finn. i can’t say i can help you with fashion, but i owe you one.”
at the collision, johanna scowled, words of spite about to part lips when her dark gaze saw her, the mockingjay herself. despite the two not always seeing eye to eye, johanna assumed the other wouldn’t go as far as to pretend to not know whom she was. not after everything. apparently the rumors regarding memories in this place were TRUE. if only she could’ve been so lucky. a forced smile tugged at the corners of her lips, though unable to meet her eyes ( they hadn’t been for quite some time ). “you appear so agile — suppose clumsiness truly is in one’s DNA.” she reached around the other for a few hordorves. johanna would never admit it, but it was almost comforting to talk to someone so familiar, even if they didn’t know, even if it was katniss. “but i can’t blame you for wanting to run away with a full plate. it is all quite good && readily available. i wonder how they’re paying for it all though.”

Katniss was surprised she had it in her to leave George’s side at all. It wasn’t that she was dependent on him so much as it was she didn’t really enjoy parties. Something seemed chillingly familiar about it but she couldn’t pin anything down. One of the few things she did like about parties was the food. It was the only thing provided by this party that she didn’t actively avoid. Perhaps she should have tried to avoid it a little because she was becoming certain that she was starting to annoy some of the other guests getting something to eat as well. When she turned to leave, she almost collided with another person. Her breath held for a couple of seconds, Katniss quickly took stock of the situation before letting out a sigh of relief. “That was a close one. I promise, if I spill food on anyone tonight, it’ll be myself.”
I enjoyed the meetings, too. It was like having f r i e n d s.
She laughed at the stars, frightened but free, her terror as sharp as pain and as sweet as a ripe October apple, and when a light came on in an upstairs bedroom of the house this stone wall belonged to, she grabbed the handle of her suitcase and fled off into the night, still laughing. — IT by Stephen King
there wasn’t much that could NUMB the memories of the past, especially here. no morphling to be found ( then again, perhaps it was a strange, painful blessing — she’d seen what morphlings became ). && while liquor was hardly the same, it would do. hand raked through hair that johanna once questioned would ever grow back as she made herself comfortable, brow arched at her words as unamused gaze turned towards the other. “well —” a pause, her sights now moving around the ever crowding bar. “guess you better save that one.” johanna mused, pointedly looking at the chair opposite of Katarina. “first come, first serve,” she chimed with feigned warmth, slight smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth.
—- “Are you god damn kidding me?” Katarina exhales as her eyes fix upon the bartender. He had a very specific task. And that task was? To fill a wine glass with human blood. However, This human was a complete useless individual. She clears her expression and it switches to a sincere one – a grin upon her face & her body leaning in towards him. “If immortality is what you want, I will gladly give it to you. But, you need to follow directions exactly as I say.” Katarina speaks softly before locking eyes with him and compelling him. “Re-fill this cup. to the rim.” And with that, the man goes to the back. A devilish smile upon her and within a second, it fades to hear someone sat by her. But, the smile returns as she looks at the person before her. “I believe this seat is taken.”
