idk man you hear about facebook's fucking concent moderation farms that basically are only capable of traumatizing it's employees, and it's like oh this is like harmful. and that's lioe one tiny thing about it, like im not trying to mythmake about facebook but simply due to size it has done more evil than you can imagine. but i guess most of that is to people who aren't in the imperial core so who cares or whatever

that doesn't invalidate the statement. theoretical analysis of oppression is often necessarily simplifying because, as you pointed out, life is infinitely complicated, and sometimes you have to gloss over potential complicating factors if you want a political statement more specific than "oppressed people are oppressed by their oppressors". and once you've identified a generalized pattern of oppression, say, men oppressing women, you can begin to interrogate how that is impacted (intersected even) by other patterns of oppression

My favorite recent example of memetic mutation is how the Spanish-speaking internet has now established any picture of a character smoking a comically large cigarette or a comical amount of cigarettes as the visual language for saying something is peak cinema.
Similar to the Martin Scorsese "absolute cinema" meme, over the course of the last couple years it became a meme to use this picture of Mads Mikkelsen smoking a cigarette as a reaction pic (both unironically and ironically) for the quality of a movie or TV show, commonly captioned as "en efecto, es cine" ("indeed, it is cinema"), "joder, esto si es cine" ("fuck, now this is cinema"), or "hoy ganó el cine" ("today cinema won").
This led to people establishing the visual shorthand of "cigarette = good show/movie" (such as people commenting a single cigarette emoji under screencaps or gifsets of movies), and eventually the meme of treating the size of the cigarette and/or number of cigarettes as being directly representative of cinematic quality, leading to reaction pics like these being used.
Just finished reading my third book on marxist political theory, just a few more and I think I might be ready for this "Disco Elysium" you guys have been telling me about,
on a more serious note, I fucking hate how everytime I try to talk about the fact that transmascs are particularly vulnerable to radicalization efforts by terfs (which yes, does often result in at least partial detransition) people interpret it as if I'm celebrating that fact. believe it or not I actually think its a pretty insidious threat to our community, and I don't know how you expect to combat it without being honest about the part regressive rhetoric and bad actors play in all this
saying trans men are gonna detransiton into terfs is an interesting take ill give you that
bold of you to assume they have to detransition to be a terf

No matter what pair of words you try to use to illustrate a difference in pronunciation, there is unfortunately some commonly spoken dialect of English which is specifically designed to defeat you. There are English dialects where "dog" and "cat" have the same vowel sound in the middle. You can't win.
a lot of behaviors that get attributed to "female socialization" can be so much more easily and accurately understood as a person recognizing the power differential surrounding them and behaving sensibly in response to that.
like. does a woman politely listen to a man monologue at her because of some experience she had when she was twelve that magically cursed her to behave that way forever, or does she do it because the man has the power to hurt her and she knows it?
does a woman do all the dishes in her household because she is less capable of breaking out of a long-ago conditioned response than, like, your average trained dog, or is she doing that because she knows that all the men in the house will blame her if she doesnt and will make life worse for her if she speaks up?
maybe a lot of sexist patterns of behavior that are widely observed in society arent caused by women like, lacking willpower or backbone? maybe it is super fucking weird for supposedly feminist movements to imply this is the case when they talk about female socialization as the end all, be all of predicting human behavior?
isnt it both more useful and more respectful toward women to consider that they are perceiving their present circumstances accurately, and recognize when power is already being wielded against them, and take logical measures to deescalate and protect themselves because it works? is it not fucking clear to everybody that trans women in particular have to do this all the fucking time?
