One more thing about the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour. I can’t believe I didn’t hear about this before and I’m sorry if I’m spoiling anyone, but.

Akusai. There’s a hint in the concert. Kairi says that Lea “has a best friend to save”. Yes, that could be Roxas (it can’t be Xion, he still doesn’t remember her), but it would be such a strange way to say it if that was the case. It fits Isa just so much more. Maybe that’s just what I want to see, but ... ... well, yes, I really really want to see it like that. I want Lea to call Isa one of his best friends. I want him to save him. Please.

Ira suffers so much, he feels an immense guilt over his actions, still he carries on, because he knows (was led to believe) that this is the only way to save the world. Of all of the Foretellers, he's the most selfless. He consciously acts against his personal believes and wishes in order to fulfill the higher goal. He can’t even allow himself to feel anymore, because he knows, it’d break him.

… I wish he had someone who was there for him and gave him strength when he needs it. It’s so sad to see him like that.

Xsuper. So that’s what it reads on the label, I couldn’t decipher it before.

Superbia is pride, the only sin we have left, so obviously the Master of Masters should have a name like that. So, I guess this could be seen as support for my theory that the box contains the master’s heartless, while also showing us where the idea of adding a X to the name of a Nobody may have come from.

The fact that it is labelled might also mean, that we will get to see the Master of Masters in KH3. Someone who knows who Xsuper is might open the box to kill the heartless and we will see the revival of the Master of Masters as a whole person. I guess that would make a pretty good plot point.

Also, is it just my impression or does the label make the box look even more like a coffin?

Thoughts on the box

My guess is that it contains the Master of Masters’ heartless.

If we assume the motive for his – in my opinion very questionable – actions is, well, scientific interest in the future, then we can conclude that the probability of him wanting to see that future for himself in person, or in fact, to change it to his liking, is quite high.

Now, we know time travel does exist in the Kingdom Hearts universe. The one, big restriction to it is the fact that a version of the person using it, must already exist in the time they wish to travel to. This also means, if one would find a way to create an immortal version of themselves, they could travel into every moment in the future.

To my knowledge, there never was any official statement about whether heartless die of natural causes or not, but I strongly assume they don’t, for various, obvious reasons. (One of them being that it would take the whole drama out of it, if people, who lost their hearts just randomly became “Somebodies” again after both their heartless and their Nobody died of old age.) More importantly though, we were told in the first game, that the only way to kill a heartless is the keyblade. Now, if we were to put a heartless in a place noone could find it, say, a box noone is ever supposed to open, then yes, we can assume this heartless would truly be immortal.

Creating a heartless out of one’s own heart might be a dangerous task, but I am sure it wouldn’t pose much of a problem to a person like the Master of Masters. Also, there seems to be a way to assure the Nobody resulting from extracting a heart would be a high ranked one, seeing how all of Ansem’s apprentices (as well as Lea and Isa, who lost their hearts in the same room, and therefore possibly also at the same time as the others) kept their human forms and memories. Of course the Master of Masters would know about this way, because the keyblade used was his “gazing eye” that allows him to see the future.

Oh, and would you look at which page the Master of Masters has so conveniently opened in the scene we get to see the box.

Plus, the page we are shown, when he explains why Luxu won’t get one of the Books of Prophecies. (*)

By “temporal paradoxes” he might have meant, that he fears Luxu might kill the heartless inside the box if he knew what future would await this world if he does as the Master of Masters tells him to. (**) Namely, not just one, but two keyblade wars.

I originally thought, that Master Xehanort might somehow be the one behind everything, but now I am certain that I was wrong. It’s not Xehanort who started all of this, he couldn’t have travelled into the past, because there was no version of him there. Also, he can’t be the Master of Masters, because we saw him being a child at the same time as Eraqus in the KH3 trailer and they certainly didn’t live since the age of fairy tales.

No, I assume that the brain behind all of it, our real antagonist in the Kingdom Hearts series, is not Xehanort, it’s the Master of Masters. He couldn’t have pulled all of this off alone though, because time is always limited when travelling into the future, so he needed a successor. 

And Xehanort is the one he found.

Notes

(*) Of course, it would be possible to argue that the pages shown are mere coincidence, but I highly doubt that. Both of them were highlighted in the movie (especially the shadow heartless, you can’t overlook it even if you tried) and if it wasn’t for a reason, then why would they have done that?

(**) To be honest, I am a bit unsure about this part, because according to the movie, the Book of Prophecies ends with the beginning of the first keyblade war. Still, there has to be something in it that might give Luxu an idea about the future beyond the keyblade war or he couldn’t possibly cause any temporal paradoxes because of it. Alternatively, he may have been able to prevent the first keyblade war from happening, had he been in possession of the information from the book. I find that unlikely though, because Ira still fell for the Master of Masters’ scheme even with analyzing the book in painstaking detail. Perhaps even because of doing so.

Edit: The label on the box reads Xsuper (as can be seen here). Which contains parts of the word Superbia and an X. This might support the theory of the Master of Masters being a Nobody and the box containing his heartless. (Of course it could also mean, the box contains the Nobody and he is a heartless, but I think it makes more sense the other way around, as the Nobody is usually the entity who still looks and thinks like a whole person.) 

Also, it could be totally unrelated to the whole theory, and the Master of Masters just wanted to mark his belongings, but I do believe, the fact that his name contains an X, where there isn’t supposed to be one, is a hint.

Additional Thoughts

There are still two things that bother me about this movie.

The first one is the symbol both the Master of Masters and Luxu have on the zipper of their coats.

It reminded me of the Unversed insignia, but it might just as well be something completely new.

The second thing is the fact that the Master of Masters’ keyblade is called “No Name” in the movie. Maybe it wasn’t meant as a name by the characters (though it probably was by Luxu, see the capital letters), but it certainly has to be a hint for us. I can only guess, but I think it might have been meant to show the connection to Xehanort, seeing how the “real” No Name keyblade does look similar to the one used by the young Xehanort.

“Are you sure, you’re okay?” You know it’s getting serious when not even Aced is buying it anymore.

Ahhh, I love Ira and Aced so much. *cries*

More Foreteller headcanons!

So, I watched KHx Back Cover today and I saw a lot of people complaining that we still don’t know who the traitor is yet, so I thought I’d share my opinion with you:

There is no traitor.

At least not among the five union leaders. The Master of Masters manipulated his pupils to play “their roles” in starting the keyblade war. So if anyone, it’s him.

Of course I don’t have actual decisive evidence of it, but there’s a lot to go by: 

First, the talk about a traitor first came up when Ira found the Nightmare Chirithy. As we know, Chirithy was literally invented by the Master of Masters and he made extra sure to explain in detail what a Nightmare version of it would mean. For him, it would be the easiest thing in the world to plant the Nightmare in the castle, and also, he’s certainly capable of creating the bangles for the players. 

Second, the whole incident about a traitor is not mentioned in the Books of Prophecy, the only written record is in the one page, which the Master gave to Gula. If you think about it, it wouldn’t make much sense for the Master to have taken this page out of the finished books, so I guess this one is either a complete fabrication – which might actually be the case, Gula mentions that the page is entirely cryptic and vague, so I assume the rest of the book is rather exact about it’s predictions – or he had a special reason for it. Like spreading distrust among his pupils by sharing information unevenly.

Which brings us to the next point: The way he assigned the roles for the different pupils. Apparently, they are not aware that the Master of Masters gave special – secret – missions to most of them. You can see that for example by Invi, Gula and Ava’s surprised looks, when Aced used the “May my heart be my guiding key” saying. Also, each of those missions, the roles, every word the Master said to his pupils in their “cases” was carefully chosen to cause conflict among them and destroy their trust in each other, so that eventually, yes, the keyblade war was inevitable.

The exception is, of course, Ava. Her role wasn’t to cause the keyblade war, but to make sure some remnants of the world would survive. The Master of Masters didn’t want to destroy the world. I assume, that much like Xehanort, he wanted to see what was beyond the end. 

Or, knowing Kingdom Hearts, it’s probably all Xehanort’s doing in some way or another, but that’s just speculation.

In order to celebrate the release of KH 2.8, I decided to show you my Foreteller Ira headcanons!

I absolutely love him and I can’t wait to watch KHx backcover and learn more about my beautiful union leader! Even though I don’t like his design in the HD graphics, it looks so much better in khux in my opinion.

… I always thought that, while he doesn’t realize it himself, Ira is the “traitor” who will bring demise to this world through his actions. Not on purpose, but still. I really look forward to see how things actually went down!

Koujaku Week: ｢tattoo｣ // ｢scars｣

My probably only entry for Koujaku Week! Everything about his tattoos fascinates me, from their symbolism to everything they stand for in the game/anime. Also, Koujaku is an amazing character and he deserves to be happy.

AKUSAIMONTH: DAYTIME MOON Day 7: [Free Day]

Today is a special day. Not only is it AkuSai day, it’s also my 5th anniversary as a fan of AkuSai! To celebrate this event, I decided to redraw the very first AkuSai drawing I ever did! ... ... ... I ... well. I guess my drawing style changed a bit, hahaha.

(I can’t believe I got into this ship because I wanted Axel to be happy. I mean. AkuSai. Happy. Wow. I guess, I had some serious misconceptions about Saix back then, and not only about his hair, haha.)

Everything was spinning, at least that's what it felt like when he woke up. Lea just lay there, waiting for his world to calm down again. He made it, didn't he? He had seen Isa's heart … Isa.

Ignoring his dizziness, he opened his eyes and looked up. Isa lay barely an arm's length away from him. Still … … unconscious. At least, that's what he hoped it was.

In a sudden panic, he got to his knees and grabbed his shoulders. "Isa!", he called out his name, shaking him at the same time.

It felt like an eternity before Isa opened his eyes. There was no trace of yellow left in them. Only the greenish blue he remembered from so long ago. Lea felt himself breaking into a smile. All the tension and anxiousness that had kept him on edge this whole time simply fell away from him. He really made it.

His relief didn't last long once Isa reached out to him and … shoved him away. His voice sounded hoarse and weak and he didn't look him in the eye. "Don't touch me," he said. Lea felt his heart clench.

"Come on, Isa," he tried again, reaching for him one more time, only to get hold up by an arm, that certainly shouldn't be doing that. Everything went numb for him.

He had imagined this moment a hundred times. Heck, a thousand times. He didn't really expect Isa to fall around his neck or something, but this … this was nothing like what he thought. He saved Isa, didn't he? Why was he still acting like this? … Like … Saïx.

He just looked at him for a moment, trying to regain his composure. There were traces of the fight they had before all over him. It hadn't exactly been easy to enter Isa's heart.

Isa hadn't even gotten up. Apparently he was even worse off than Lea himself. "You're hurt," Lea stated in a firm voice, "Let me help you." He took hold of Isa's arm that was still trying to keep him away from him and pushed it down with mild power.

Isa still refused to look at him.  "No. Just … leave me be." But this time Lea heard his voice crack. He sounded … sad.

For some reason, it irritated him.

"Leave you be to do what? Die?" He grasped both his shoulders. Isa tensed up and tried to push him away again, but Lea didn't let him. "Do you really think I went through all that trouble, learning how to use a keyblade, waltzing right into a war, fighting you, just to let you die now?? No, Isa, I will bring you home and if I have to drag you all the way there."

Just then Isa suddenly stopped struggling and looked up to him. For a moment his face was full of disbelief, then he made a sound that was a mixture between an exhale and a laugh, and even though it sounded so sad, Lea felt happy about it. Because it was a reaction to him. And because there was the hint of a smile on Isa's face. It had been too long since he had a chance to see that.

"You're still … as stubborn as ever." His voice was quiet, but it wasn't cold. Not anymore. For the second time within a few minutes Lea felt relief wash over him. This wasn't lost, not yet. They could still go back to the way there were, it just'd take a bit longer than he thought.

"See, that's more like what I wanted to hear," he chirped extra cheerfully. He smiled at Isa, then he tightened his grip on his shoulders. "It's good to have you back. Isa."

I’m sorry for the cheesy, uncreative idea, but I know KH3 won’t end good for those two, so I’ve made it my personal mission to draw as much Good-End! AkuSai as I can. Fight me if you dare. (  9   >   A  < )9/p>

It’s the second prompt and I am already late for akusaimonth. *sigh* Some things never change. Anyway, here’s a WIP just to show that I am working on it. It’s a small comic, I hope I can finish it before the next prompt. It’s good that there are a few days between them, haha.

Hello, fellow akusai shippers! Are your hearts still broken? OTL Yes, that’s right. This year we’ll be celebrating our heart-aching ship again! 

Unlike the other years, however, the two modes will not be SLOW BURN and BERSERK, but ECLIPSE and DAYTIME MOON, which are two different sets of prompts. Eclipse is catered to graphics/video/playlist makers, while Daytime Moon is catered to writers and artists. You may choose whichever set that fits your fancy for the medium you’d like to work on (e.g. use Daytime Moon for graphics), and you can even accomplish both sets. :)

NOTE: For prompts marked with “/” you must choose between the two specified.

Posting dates and themes for each set are noted in the graphic above, but for copy-pasting (and better reading) purposes, they can be found under the cut.

It’s so much better to joke about being turned into Xehanort, than to imagine all the reasons why my left eye may be changing it’s colour and what the strange, growing shadow on my throat is.

Dear Aoba,

I love you for your strength. For being strong enough to be there for others, even when your own world has fallen to pieces. Strong enough to touch people’s hearts, to see them for who they are – and to save them. To accept all of yourself, even the parts that frighten you. And to stay kind at heart, no matter the circumstances.
