In Time I Awakened To A New Purpose

(Can you believe KH3 releases in less than a week? I can’t.)

I’m feeling so anxious for KH3…

Also, I’m currently working on the colours for this and I’m honestly not sure whether that makes it better or worse. omg, what if one of them actually dies

So, last night I dreamt I was playing KH3. 

Lea and Isa (still norted) were there, having a frustrated and angry argument, which wasn’t surprising at all uNTIL IT TURNED INTO A FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY MAKE-OUT SESSION. 

I was so shook, I stopped, turned off the game and texted my girlfriend this one sentence I never expected to type:

“I can’t believe AkuSai is canon now.”

@kittendough recently noticed, that Chat Noir is basically Ouran High School Host Club’s Tamaki all over again, so guess what I drew her for christmas.

Done with water colours and coloured pencils. (Also, This is probably the most anime thing I’ve ever drawn. It was fun though!)

So, I thought my first Cosmere fanart was this sketch of Hrathen from 2015:

But then I remembered, it was this Kelsier I drew for a friend in 2011:

I can’t believe it’s been seven years… I also can’t believe that this is what I pictured Kelsier to look like. Dear past me, this is not what an almost 40 years old with a hardness in his eyes is supposed to look like.

So, @emsawards just went and took the two things I obsess about the most at the moment and put them together into one, thrilling, amazing fanfiction. I couldn’t be more happy!

(For the designs, I picked a little from the manga, a little from the movie, the paladin armor, their normal outfits, Keith’s space pirate outfit and of course a good part of @v-0-3 artwork of Shiro that started it all. Though I changed Shiro’s haircolour to white in the end, because I love the contrast to Keith.)

I’ve had some mutuals interact with me on this blog and I just want to make sure you know who you’re dealing with in case you didn’t already. There was some reason for trying to keep this blog and my main separate originally, but it was a really stupid one. Honestly, I feel a little embarrassed/guilty for not saying anything sooner… I hope no one feels offended or anything and I’m really sorry of you do.

I had trouble sleeping again lately, so I decided to put the thoughts and feelings that kept me awake on paper. The only rule to myself was to draw what my hands felt was right, not what my head thought was.

It feels ... good. And it helps a lot too.

And I only have one thing to add to it: I am so proud of Keith. He made the right decision, even though it was the hard one. The one he was actually told not to take, the one that was the best for himself.

AKUSAIMONTH // 2017 Day 3: Swap or Reflection

“So, I guess that’s why you tried to pull the same thing a second time?“

“Now that’s plain unfair! I put a lot more work into it the second time! I mean, floating candles?”

“Well. I’d never seen anything that cheesy before, I’ll give you that.”

“Hehe, special day calls for special measures.”

“Right.”

“But you know? I’m glad you recognized it. I really wanted it to be like that time.”

I’m sorry for just letting akusaimonth pass, but I just didn’t feel like it.

I want to finish this year’s asm later on … and I actually also want to finish the 2015 one before KH3 comes out. Until then, thank you for sticking around.

Okay, so. If becoming norted DOESN’T mean losing your free will, then what good would it do Xehanort to make Sora a vessel.

I am honestly so done with the Saix discourse around here.

Saix has Xehanort’s EYECOLOUR AND EARS for heaven’s sake. He is clearly at least influenced by Xehanort during his time in Org XIII. Not to mention he has a X carved into his forehead, X like keeping watch on people (see KH3D).

I always thought that Saix is losing more and more of himself to Xehanort, but that’s only my interpretation of course. He’s still at least partially himself, before his death in KH2, yes. He did terrible things, yes. I’m not saying those should be forgotten.

But please don’t forget, that he was also in a terrible situation and he was slowly losing his only support (= Lea). Situations have a huge impact on our decisions and behaviour, which has close to NOTHING to do with our personality. Feel free to google the fundamental attribution error on that one. Does this justify what he did? Not at all. Does this mean he shouldn’t be forgiven? Not. At. All. If he is willing to repent, then let him do it. EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE.

Then again, I’d like to take a look at the “terrible things” Isa/Saix did. The main problem I see is his behaviour towards Roxas and Xion, who would have needed support and whose situations were clearly made worse by him. Keep in mind that he deeply believes he doesn’t feel any emotions and nobody else around him does either. The definition of empathy (according to Dorsch, Lexikon der Psychologie [translated]) is the cognitive understanding and affective reciprocation of the assumed emotions of another being. Of course Saix doesn’t have any.

The “terrible things” I don’t understand, are those other people see in his interactions with Axel? Roxas and Xion hurt Axel’s mental state way more than Saix, not on purpose of course, but I strongly doubt Saix’ goal was to hurt Axel either. Saix and Axel are ARGUING. Axel doesn’t trust Saix and vice versa. Saix is angry, he’s sad, while he doesn’t acknowledge any of it. He tries to keep Axel close with their shared goal. With pressure, yes, which he didn’t have to, but they are still arguing, remember. There’s still a strong, unresolved conflict in between them. Don’t try to tell me, you’re always kind and caring in an argument, dear haters. Because BY SHARING HATE YOU ALREADY ARE CAUSING DAMAGE TO OTHER PEOPLE. I felt uneasy and irritated, I had sleepless hours thanks to those Saix hate posts. YOU caused me harm with your unnecessary discourse.

So what does this say about you? Shouldn’t you be forgiven?

Well, KHUx is a really nice game, I enjoy playing it a lot, but storywise you’re not missing out on much. There’s maybe three or four pieces of information that make a good combination with Backcover, but most of it doesn’t add much/anything at all to the story.

Hmm, yeah, I see what you mean. A lot of people seem a bit confused about Ira, maybe because he’s not as easy to see through as the others (then again, I’m somewhat under the impression that a lot of people didn’t see through Ava either. Or maybe I’m just seeing things that aren’t there, who knows).  I’m reasonably convinced we’ll see the Master of Masters in KH3. :) Especially now that the box has been brought up in the new trailer. About the traitor … I don’t think there ever was one among the Foretellers. In my opinion, the only person who could be considered a traitor is the Master or Masters himself. … Wow, sorry, if I sound like a know-all, I just thought about all this way more than I probably should have, haha.

Hey! :) I saw your tags on my Ira drawing. I hope it's okay if I'll explain my opinion a bit? I don't think Ira is evil. Actually, I think he's very selfless. All he wants to do is to protect the world. He probably feels a strong guilt over the things he does in order to do so, but he was led to believe that this is the only way, and so he keeps on, even if it breaks him. ... Of course, I don't want to impose my view on you or anything. Have a nice day and thank you for reblogging my work! :)

Before I write this answer, I just wanna say that I have barely played unchained x. I saw the movie, and I know some of the story.

But I agree with what you said 100%. I just thought that many people view him as “evil” since they drew sort of Xehanort-esque. Hopefully, the foretellers will be brought up in KH 3, and we’ll get an actual answer of who the traitor is??? Also, your art is so nice! I love the way you draw Saix! He looks so elegant yet intimidating.

The reason I drew this (exactly a year ago today) was a nightmare I had back then. Everyone Koujaku even remotely cared about had died in this dream, and he blamed it all on himself.

He felt so empty inside, he couldn’t do a thing anymore, he could barely get out of bed, kept the curtains and windows closed at all times. The only reason he was still alive, was because he couldn’t even care enough to die anymore. And, because somewhere in all this mess, Mink was there. I don’t know why, he didn’t say a word in the whole dream, but he took Koujaku with him, to someplace far from Midorijima and he held onto him. 

For Koujaku, it was all that was left.

Two (older) sketches I felt like sharing. 

The left one (Coronation) is from June ‘16 and is part of an AU I work on from time to time. The right one (Betrayal) is pretty much a redraw, but in a different context. I drew that one in March this year.

Though they look very similar, they have a slightly different subject: Coronation is about outward-directed anger, about something that has happened / is still happening and could not be prevented. Betrayal on the other hand is about self-hatred. About an inward-directed anger that comes from allowing a person to get close enough to hurt one.

I like to see them both lined up next to each other, because it emphasizes the differences. Also, I think they complete each other.
