Post 1/21 from the Costume Trail in Wellington. Sadly Bard’s costume was in a super glare-y position. It was really difficult to get good photos. Message me if you’d like higher resolution photos or other detail shots.

During the last month and a half I’ve been working on some “The Hobbit” and LOTR illustrations
When I’ll be finished they are going to become a zine that I’m going to sell digitally on my ko-fi shop and in physical copies at cons
Here all the 15 illustrations of the first part:
“Balin and Dwalin were written as Thorin’s closest confidantes, Balin as the Old Warrior advisor and father figure, Dwalin as an equal in all but name, his friend, his advisor, and his sparring partner. Thorin has a relationship with every one of his men, but thoese two and his sister’s sons, Fili and Kili, are particularly close.”

The first page of The Hobbit in the style of a 16th century medieval illuminated manuscript.
This started as a comfort drawing while I rewatched all the Hobbit films and ended up being a full on artwork that took a long time...
i know this seems like this blog is themed around Goldberry and a little of Tom Bombadil but it's just that I only got to her part in Fellowship and loved it so much
i'm gonna continue my reading and find more characters to love i promise
