Ace Attorney had it's 20th anniversary last year and combined with the long awaited translation of Dai Gyakuten Saiban/the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles I got all nostalgic.
THIS moment is my absolute favourite scene: Phoenix Wright, terrified of heights, running across a burning bridge above a canyon because he's far more scared of losing anyone else, that he'd do anything to stop it. And in what would become a recurring motif, when Phoenix is in desperate straits, Edgeworth puts everything on the line to build him back up.
The same way Phoenix saved him.

We all know the tale of “The quirked up white boy busting it down sexual style, who might be goated with the sauce”, but what do we really know about him? I aim to answer this question. We start with the basics, he is a “white boy”, who is “quirked up”, so we can imagine that being quirked up means some type of unorthodox clothing style. However he is in fact a “white boy” who is described as “Quirked up”, so we can conclude that he is some sort of Tiktok “Soft Boi”. Next, we see him “busting it down sexual style”. Busting it down implies dancing, but add the “Sexual style” to this, and we get a sort of refined dance, plus the “Sauce”, and thus, he is dancing the “salsa”. Now, where do we commonly see the salsa being performed? At a formal gathering that has tension in the air. Given that a plain ass white boy is at a formal gathering, implies that he is of some significance. What significance you may ask? He is there as an assassin. Hear me out, going back to our first impression of the white boy, we came to the concussion that he is wearing some sort of uncommon clothing, now that with the fact that he is “Goated with the sauce” we can see that he has some sense of style, and that he might be wearing a suit. Suits are used for formal events, such as the one we decided that our “Soft Boi” was at. But if he was a Soft Boi, he wouldn’t be at a formal event dancing the salsa, right? Wrong. He is there because of his disarming nature, which makes him the perfect assassin. Remember, he is “Goated with the sauce”, meaning he also has some sort of ability that makes him “The GOAT”. And paired with the fact that it takes two to salsa, we can conclude that he is dancing with someone. And why would an assassin be dancing with someone? To kill them. He is also “Busting it down sexual style” which means the dance had gotten heated.
Our conclusion? “The quirked up white boy busting it down sexual style, who may be goated with the sauce”, is in fact an assassin who is currently having a slightly erotic dance with his target.

this is such an unpopular opinion I am certain of it so
the heteronormativity in the star treks before picard and discovery is really really prominent it's not unspoken or even just hinted at they literally state outwardly especially in Voyager that men and women get together only..
AND I just think the retcon doesn't make sense, suddenly gay people have been there all along? Look I get that the reason was because our society did not believe in validating other sexualities at that point. BUT as a stickler for Canon..it would make way more sense if along with suppressing neurodiversity (which they also mention both in DS9 and in Voyager) ..it would make sense if they suppressed the LGBTQ genes as well.
Then maybe after communication with an alien species they decide to undo that choice...
Also in Seven's case it would make sense if her parents didn't opt into that treatment and no one on Voyager realized. There was a fic I read that did that where she had feelings for Janeway and Janeway's queerness was suppressed when she was a child it was so sad but it made sense.
It's just so weird that the other series are so prominently in your face heteronormative and Seven and Chakotay are I'm sorry such a weird choice for a coupling that it just screams Comphet to me.
and I get it we want the Federation to be a good organization but DS9 showed us it's flaws pretty clearly...and one of them was extreme ablism and if they just addressed it in the same way.. that would be better than a retcon in my opinion. That's all.
