In book six (which I read in like fifth grade) there’s a whole page that’s just spent describing a Clan Leader (who has nine lives) losing all of them one at a time due to being absolutely fucking eviscerated (he got cut open from his throat all the way down to his tail). This is the same character that is the cat equivalent of Hitler down to carrying out cat genocide so his death is very cathartic but also extremely unsettling.

The series also goes on long enough to kill off every single character by old age if necessary (though usually violence or disease), some of them more than once (their spirits get obliterated)
