I’m seeing a lot of people being down on lando. People who say they’re his fans and that they support him.

P6 isn’t bad. Like yeah, it’s not pole but lando has said countless times that’s he’s not comfortable in the car. That’s it’s practically undrivable for him. The fact that he’s been able to do so good in it so far this season is incredible. He’s raising everyone’s expectations and the second he doesn’t perform to your insane standards for him then he’s washed, or not a good driver, or *insert another driver here* is better than him.

I support lando. I think he’s a great driver. If he’s last every single race I’m still going to support him. Yes, I want him to perform well. I want him to be happy with the car, with the team, and he’s just not right now.

This is the 4th race of the season. Upgrades are coming that are supposed to make the drivability better for him. Right now, until those upgrades come and he’s back where he feels (more) comfortable it’s dangerous limitation, and he’s done so good at that so far. He’s the only driver to be on the podium every race.

All these fans counting him out of the season, saying he doesn’t deserve a championship or pointing out others that deserve it more, can leave. If that’s how you treat someone you support I’d hate to see how you treat people you don’t.

Lando is perfectly capable of overtaking tomorrow. I believe in him and if everyone could just have a little bit of faith in him that’d be grand. Give him a little bit of grace rather than thinking that anything less than perfection is a problem.

He’s performing well. He’s not happy with the car or himself, but he’s doing fine. He’s got time to make it up later if something goes wrong.

The season just started so stop crashing out over everything lando does.

Being an adult virgin shouldn’t be thought of negatively, mocked, or inferiorized. Engagement in sexual activity shouldn’t be used as a tool to think of oneself as superior to those who don’t have sex.

You know what's funny? Lando never even properly said that he was a championship contender. The only championship he ever spoke about was the constructors, the F1 media pushed him into this fight.

The way some people act on here you would think he said at some point that he would be champion no questions asked but he hasn't, he was always pessimistic about the gap.

My brand is and always will be that the tax evading millionaires are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves but damn I feel like we are crossing some lines with Lando now. The man can't even open his mouth without fans of almost every driver on the grid starts dogpiling on him. You hear one out of context sentence from an interview and just run with it only to find out that he didn't call Max' win lucky. (But you don't correct your post because why would you, Lando probably deserved the hate for one reason or another right?) You see team orders happen and call him unworthy without considering that every champion on the current grid has benefited from team orders. (But it's OK because Lando is so fucking annoying anyways right?)

Idk if it's because I have been part of many fandoms where things have escalated to the point of no return and that's why I get scared when I see this level of piling on someone but I genuinely feel like we have reached an unreasonable point now.

sorry but the fact Lando was even in contention of the wdc this season is so surreal and special to me, it’s honestly a season he can look back on and be proud of himself and of mclaren for even getting this far.

especially when you think just how bad the mclarens been for a number of years now, they’ve done so well, from when he first started and used to help his team pack down the car after a race, the title might be over for this year, but Lando is only 24, there’s still time and opportunities for a wdc, there’s also plenty of time for Oscar as well like, it’s such a young pairing in the grid

mclaren still have things to smooth out, but this was the first time they’d even been anywhere near in years, like it’s not that long ago since mclaren were 9th in the bloody constructors, there’s things to learn and get through and then they’ll get there
