I do think the fandom has the unfortunate habit of babifying Shang Qinghua, due to both shipping and crocodile tears. I personally like the fact he’s a stone cold shark.
This guy set up an event so deadly it killed a significant number of teenagers— some from his own peak that he trained personally— without any visible trace of remorse. SQQ spent years wallowing in the guilt of throwing his little sheep into the abyss, which he knew he would survive. Meanwhile SQH did that and an unknown amount of other shit without batting an eyelid. That man would sell you out for pocket change.
No wonder Mobei Jun thinks he’s hot. Murdering someone in cold blood must be the demonic equivalent of a sexy hair flip.
it's so beautiful finding out that the ballad of the witches' road began between agatha and nicholas and their bond, and earlier on we find out that lorna wu created her version in order to protect alice I AM ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED.
Lorelei is literally that bitch.
She Knew SHE fucking KNEW that Lisbon and Jane were in love but couldn't acknowledge it and she absolutely knew what buttons to push and she tap danced all over them just to piss Jane off when she was caught.
Lisbon was the perfect bait. You can say things about Jane, but he won't care. Needle Lisbon or make fun of her? Jane's got it out for you.
Angst idea for billy batfam: for whatever reason billy is given a punishment from Bruce: no magic until told otherwise. No spells. No heroing. No magic
The problem is that Bruce doesn't understand magic and doesn't understand that billy isn't like zatanna or constantine, he can't just not do magic. 6 gods, the living Lightning and the magic of eternity all bottle up inside a malnourished little kid? It'll burn him alive
but... he's learned better than say no to a pissed off adult
The gods make the executive decision: billy can't stay here. Not anymore.
Ooooh this is good. Thank you for the ask!
Oh, the “no heroing” punishment alone is bad. Because that infringes on his responsibilities within the Magic community. He has work to do damnit!
But no magic? That is basically a death sentence. No joke, asking someone who is so intrinsically tied to magic to NOT use it, is not going to end well.
And the worst thing is, Bruce thinks this is for the best. He still doesn’t get magic after so many years because he doesn’t want to. All magic brings is chaos and a headache. He toned his hate down for Billy, but it’s still there. He’s worried that magic will ruin his new son’s life, so he decides to separate them, like you would your kid from a toxic friend.
But it’s eating Billy up inside. Now, he has voices in his head yelling at him to use his powers. He has magic practically boiling within his very core, hitting along every inch of his inner muscles. He feels like he’s burning up. Like he’s eaten so much that he can’t eat anymore.
Still, he doesn’t say anything. He knows better. After so many foster and group homes that promise they’ll be better than the last, this one feels different somehow. He has hope. It’s not a lot, but it’s there. If he says or does anything to ruin that, it’ll only be his fault.
But his patrons think otherwise.
They acknowledge that these vigilantes have good intentions, for humans. But ultimately, Billy’s wellbeing matters the most. And if he continues to not use his magic, he won’t survive to the next year. It’s like asking him to not take medicine. To not sleep. To not eat or drink.
At some point, the Batman’s intentions don’t matter. Billy needs to go to the Rock immediately. Zeus apologizes profusely before piloting his body and teleporting all the way to the Subway to Eternity.
He can’t stay, they tell him. And, despite wanting a family more than anything, Billy knows they’re right.
*cue Captain Marvel avoiding being in a room alone with Batman and any of his batgirls or robins.*
"You know he's not showing up because he likes yoga, right?"
Jazz raised an eyebrow as she chewed her bite of salad.
"I'm telling you, Jazz, he has other motives like getting the instructor's number."
"Maybe he already has my number." Jazz said innocently. At Danny's balked expression, her mouth turned upward into a predatory grin. She propped both elbows on the table on either side of her plate and rested her chin on folded hands. "Did you see his bike?"

"Meet Me in the Middle": A Billy + SuperSons fic! They're all the same age.
Damian and Jon want to go to the same school. While Bruce and Clark are glad that their sons became friends, they don't exactly want their sons to go to a school in the other's city.
Clark is a bit skeptical about sending Jon to Gotham every day because it's Gotham, and it will take Damian hours to get to Metropolis from Gotham. No, he won't be taking a plane or helicopter just to go to and from school every weekday. Do you know how much pollution that would make? And no Clark, you can't fly Damian either, that would draw too much attention.
They try to find a middle ground, maybe a school somewhere in between their paths. Ultimately, they choose one somewhere near the middle of their destinations. It's in Fawcett City, home of their most cheerful coworker.
Damian thinks he'll use this as an opportunity to uncover the Captain's secret identity, he let it slip once that he did have one. He'll do the one thing his father couldn't, but he'll need an excuse to spend more time in Fawcett outside of school. Maybe it'll be under the guise of making a new friend. Hmmm yes, this kid in the red sweater will do.
Jon is more than happy to see Damian gain an interest in making new friends. Billy seems like a fun guy to hang out with, he'll befriend him too!

Billy: *Overhearing Superman and Batman talking about how excited Superboy and Robin are to go the same school together*Good for them, good for them
Billy: *Suddenly remembering that conversation after becoming friends with the only kids from Metropolis and Gotham* 😲
Idk where exactly the cities are but I know that Gotham City is in New Jersey, Metropolis is in New York, and Fawcett City is in Pennsylvania.
Metropolis will be in more north of New York, Gotham more south in NJ, and Fawcett will be next to where the three states meet.
Here's a map to be more helpful (will most likely move Metropolis and Gotham to be closer to Fawcett but you get the idea):
Jazz, for some reason or the other, becomes a wielder of a red lantern ring. After going on her rampage and getting her revenge, she realizes that the feeling of rage won't go away. Instead of letting the anger destroy her, she decided to do something else with it.
That's how we end up with a stand-off between Hal Jordan and the most powerful Red Lantern he's ever seen. Because...
"What... what did you just say?"
The young woman smiled gently at him. He would've been fooled by it if not for the burning rage carefully hidden... No, she wasn't hiding anything behind those turquoise eyes. It was taking everything she had to hold it back.
"I said that I would like to join The Justice League." Her voice was soft and velvety. Comforting in a way that sends chills up his spine.
"But you're a Red Lantern."
There was a beat of silence, she cocked her head to the side while looking at the blood-red ring on her finger.
"I don't know what that means, but I'm guessing it's got something to do with this ring?"
Hal didn't respond but she took it as confirmation. There was silence between them once more before Jasmine sighed and continued.
"I feel angry, more than angry. This rage that I've been holding inside for so long has reached its limits and is finally bubbling over. Everything that I loved is gone so killed what took it away from me. But... but I'm still SO FUCKING ANGRY!"
She was screaming now. Tears of rage and sadness rolled down her cheeks as violent red energy radiated from her being. Hal flew back. He didn't want to fight her but was ready to do so if it came to it.
Just as easily as she lost it she pulled herself together, wiping her tears away, returning to her previously calm demeanor. It freaked Hal out.
"I... I know that blind rage without direction leads to meaningless destruction. I don't want to hurt anybody. No... I don't want to hurt the wrong people. I'm asking you to guide me, to guide my rage in the right direction... Please."
I have honestly never written fan fiction before and I know it’s hard trying to figure out words but literally I can’t get past 250 words. You writers are amazing
You want to know why Inigo Montoya remains such an iconic and beloved character even 35 years after the Princess Bride came out?
It's because he's one of the few characters in fiction who has a story where he has dedicated his life to revenge, his whole motivation is about getting revenge....and he gets it! and then he isn't empty or despairing! he doesn't regret it! he's totally satisfied!
because so many stories about revenge or rage are about characters "seeing the futility of their actions" or learning "their desire for revenge has only made them the monsters they hated" FUCK THAT.
Inigo Montoya kills the man who kills his father, is allowed to live in the narrative after and be happy about it and it is so satisfying. it's fantastic. it's iconic.
let more characters rage against the world, bring it down with bloodied hands, and let them be FUCKING RIGHT about it. Let them celebrate their success with sharp grins, and let them live happy, full lives where they always remain proud/fulfilled for what they've done
Imagine Shang Qinghua just absolutely activating the Caine instinct in Shen Yuan. One wrong move and he’s hair pulling, biting, licking, spitting, every underhanded move in the book. He’s gotta get his sibling aggression out. Meanwhile Airplane, an only child, is screaming, crying “NO BITING!! STOP LICKING ME!!!” It’s attracted the attention Yue Qingyuan, who wants to cry knowing his Xiao Jiu is still in there….
