why has chimney genuinely suffered more than jesus christ of nazareth
Crazy how every El Paso episode is reaffirming Eddie’s “you do matter to me” statement. It’s not just words. The writers are now showing us instead of telling us that Eddie does indeed need Buck as much as Buck needs him, that Buck is integral to Eddie’s life and that him moving away doesnt change that fact at all.
And it’s another way they’re contrasting Eddie with Abby. Abby left Buck with vague assurances that she cares about him, that she might come back at some point, but it was all just words. As soon as she left L.A. she left Buck behind too. She closed that chapter of her life and didn’t make any effort to make that known to Buck.
But Eddie puts his money where his mouth is. It’s not just words. Eddie told Buck he matters to him and then he proved it by keeping him in his life, by talking to him all the time and needing him and relying on his support.
Buck has accepted the fact that Eddie is not coming back (even tho we know he is lol) while he clung to the idea of Abby coming back for far too long. But Eddie has not left Buck in any doubt that he loves him. That’s why Buck has been able to stop spiralling. Because he’s secure in the knowledge that distance doesnt change what they are to each other. He knows he will always have Eddie. And Eddie knows he will always have Buck.
“You’re a nerd” I say as I look at you with heart eyes while you info dump to me
Having the previously suicidal character say they don’t wanna go as they die?? I’m actually suing I’m sobbing Tim minear when I catch you
THIS BETTER BE TEMPORARY I CANT LOSE HIM LIKE THAT
how I felt the moment Eddie said he'd need Buck's couch
okay here is my crackpot theory for the next episode. chimney is going to bring home the lab rat for jee-yun. the lab rat is going to appear to “die.” they prepare to get rid of the rat (shoebox burial in the backyard) when suddenly the rat “miraculously” comes back to life. this is how we realize that the virus, though serious, is not actually as fatal as anticipated; it sends its victims into a coma-like state (not unlike the potion in romeo and juliet). this is alluding to bobby being alive in the coffin and having to get out of being buried alive. jesus bobby lives. amen.
anyway i don't believe any of this actually like i do think they are playing us. they need us to believe bobby's dead so when he rises on the third day we're all like omg jesus is back i mean bobby
Remember when the S6 finale aired and everyone jumped ship, but then eventually got back on (albeit reluctantly) for Season 7?
If this Bobby situation doesn't get rectified, I think that after this episode that everyone's gonna jump ship and NO ONE IS GONNA GET BACK ON.
what's the POINT what's the point in any of this literally why are we here
thing is i‘ve really successfully gaslit myself into genuinely believing bobby is alive
so now if it turns out he’s really dead dead i won’t know what to do with myself
