Eddie could probably kiss Buck on the mouth and Buck would still show up at Maddie's house like

right so my friend just finished the 9-1-1 episode and she insisted that no one is actually dead because 'it's easter weekend' and that 'he's coming back', i then kindly pointed out how the actor wrote a goodbye letter and she argued that Jesus hosted the last supper 😭

My (probably wrong) theory about what might go down with Bobby’s death storyline on 911. Because yes, I’m still holding on to the idea that he’s alive.

So first off, I don’t think Bobby was buried alive. That whole “buried alive” thing was likely an April Fool’s joke. I’m not sure why or who orchestrated it, though.

Jennifer Love Hewitt posted the same blurry script Oliver did (hers was smaller), and while she’s shared scripts on her story before, I doubt she’d go that far for a prank. And Oliver, while his was readable, doesn’t even use Twitter anymore, which is where most of the fan panic came from. So if it was a prank, I have no idea who planned it. Plus, Tim said he doesn’t know where the leak came from… weird. Like, if it was a joke, why not just say that instead of acting like it mysteriously got out?

Anyway, onto my actual theory.

Throughout the episode, they really emphasized how intense the virus military was about containing the virus rather than using the cure. Bobby ends up being the only person on Earth with this new strain now that Chim is cured. And though it looks like he dies at the end, maybe he just passed out (like Chim did earlier in the episode). What if the military took Bobby for experimentation to study the new strain? They don’t expect him to live, so they lie and tell everyone he’s dead, giving them an empty casket they’re warned not to open “for safety reasons.” But Bobby’s actually still alive and probably in some secret military facility (and maybe that magic blood from season 1 is keeping him going)

So the episode plays out with everyone mourning him, but right at the end, someone (Athena? Buck? Someone from the 118?) opens the casket and realizes it’s empty. Boom. Cliffhanger. Next episode becomes a mission to find Bobby.

Now, the next episode is titled Don’t Drink the Water, and at first I thought it tied into Eddie’s scene with the priest. The juice vs. water moment, but the titles usually work metaphorically for the characters and literally for the 118 call.

So here’s my loose theory. Maybe something’s wrong with the LA water supply. While the 118 is responding to water-related emergencies, they’re also secretly following leads on Bobby (and running into the military thats investigating the water issue) , maybe even interfering or stealing evidence like Athena did before.

Eventually, someone drinks the contaminated tap water (probably Buck because of course) and starts hallucinating Bobby. But the hallucinations actually help him piece together the truth. Buck won’t tell the others he’s sick, trying to hold it together, but eventually they find Bobby. Buck passes out, but we know he’ll be okay. It mirrors Bobby saving Chim, now Buck saves Bobby.

As for the Eddie storyline, I think Buck is still a little upset about Eddie leaving and not being there when they needed him or something of that nature, and is now keeping a distance. Eddie doesn’t understand why it hurts so much, and Tommy (probably) helps him realize how much buck means to him (more than platonically). Eddie finally gets that Buck brings him joy, and that he deserves that joy. He wants to tell Buck how he feels… but then Buck collapses. No confession yet, but it’s coming.

So yeah. This is my bonkers theory that probably won’t happen, but I’m coping lol.

Idk not to read into it or anything but I think making the suicidal addict, a man cursed to be alone and responsible since young childhood, sacrifice his life for the sake of his team and die a painful gratuitous death, alone in a glass box with no one to hug, just when his life was finally worth living is fucking cruel and twisted writing.

He was building a house. He wanted to live. He was happy.

Bobby Nash was an incredibly well written character, it was a well done portrayal of survivors guilt, addiction, loneliness and suicidality.

He was a man cursed with the burden of feeling responsible for everyone in his life, for his dad, for killing his family, for his team.

I truly think killing him in such a horrific way on the Nobody Dies Show was a disservice to his character and all that he represented.

As someone who felt seen and portrayed by his character, I don’t think that was a brave and heroic death. He has been trapped into responsibility for other people’s lives since he was a child. I think it was an utterly tragic and thankless way for his character to go, to never escape his burden, his duty of care, and to be killed for it. You made him die alone in a glass box, unable to touch the people he loves, isolated. Just at the point of him feeling truly happy and secure.

What a poor ending for such a beloved character.

Remember when the S6 finale aired and everyone jumped ship, but then eventually got back on (albeit reluctantly) for Season 7?

If this Bobby situation doesn't get rectified, I think that after this episode that everyone's gonna jump ship and NO ONE IS GONNA GET BACK ON.

right and like they could have included eddie and still had him feel so removed and distant from everything that was happening. maybe he had a facetime call scheduled with buck after his shift and was trying to call him but couldnt get through all night. and in the end he had to call maddie to make sure something didnt happen to buck and then have maddie, who never interacts with him AND who also is not really there with her family in that moment, tell eddie bobby is dead. which would have been on theme with the buck athena karen team up <- characters interacting that dont interact often. and then chim could have been saying to hen instead of maddie when bobby gave me the dose he knew he was going to die. or something like that. and all of this would have been encapsulated in one quick 15s scene at the end of the episode btw …

literally. it would have been so easy and he still could have had his stupid helicopters

okay here is my crackpot theory for the next episode. chimney is going to bring home the lab rat for jee-yun. the lab rat is going to appear to “die.” they prepare to get rid of the rat (shoebox burial in the backyard) when suddenly the rat “miraculously” comes back to life. this is how we realize that the virus, though serious, is not actually as fatal as anticipated; it sends its victims into a coma-like state (not unlike the potion in romeo and juliet). this is alluding to bobby being alive in the coffin and having to get out of being buried alive. jesus bobby lives. amen.

I actually cannot believe they're stupid enough to do this I swear. No one wants this. Not the viewers, not the cast, like Kenny literally couldn't stop crying in an interview when they asked him about it. Okay I get that it's a show and realism and yada yada yada but they just killed Bobby to kill Bobby, just when he was starting to be happy after his relapse in S7. They could've not done it and the show would've been just fine. But now they're gonna lose so much audience because of this and we might get queerbaited and I bet you if they don't revive Bobby the show is not gonna make it to season nine.

btw after rebar to the head, temporary death via lightning, and slit-throat shenanigans, they're gonna have to explode bobby in 1080p on my screen if they want me to believe he's dead for sure. if that man's guts aren't splattered across the lense I'm not buying it.
