gazaesims.com is a website dedicated to helping people donate esims for people in gaza. there are multiple options for where to purchase an esim to donate, for the price i listed you want to use nomad esims. then use the promotional discount code from this article (BACKPACKNOMAD) to get $3 off your purchase (note: this only applies to the first purchase you make on nomad) this discount obviously also works on the more expensive options too if you are able to spring for those! also it took over an hour for the email with my information to come through so don't panic if it doesn't show up right away.

Gazan portraits by Palestinian Photographer Motaz Azaiza (pictured in the center of the final photograph) :
Motaz’s photography captures the daily life of Palestinians in Gaza; from old to young, from happy to sad, from living to dead - he is currently documenting the Israeli onslaught and mass destruction of Gaza live on his social media. His Instagram: Motaz_Azaiza
I feel like I am living in the twilight zone. Literally thousands of Palestinians are dead, hundreds still missing under the rubble, Palestinians being captured and tortured in the West Bank, Israel saying “oh we’re going to ramp up our bombing” and tonight being the worst night of bombing to date and all I hear is “both sides both sides both sides both sides-“ I feel like I’m going mad

Disarming Armenians is a genocidal tactic, the young turks did the same thing. The nazis disarmed the Jewish population as well.
the massive, poorly constructed environmental risk that spat all over the Standing Rock Sioux people's treaty rights? that dug up their sacred burial sites? the one where the oil corporation who owned it bought out a private company to do a sham of an "environmental analysis" and never consulted the tribe and STILL didn't actually get approval? the one that's literally operating illegally and without proper permits right fucking now?
yeah, that.
you remember that.
surprising absolutely no one, the army corps of engineers this week (September 8, 2023) released an EIS (environmental impact statement) draft for public comment that takes into account absolutely 0 of the tribe's concerns, and in fact did not consult with them once in the process!
what's the good news?
All you have to do is add your name, email, and zip code, and it pulls up a form with a pre-written message you can just click and submit, listing the most pressing concerns. You can also personalize it if you want, but you don't have to. This will take you two minutes. Please.
you can also donate directly to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe here.
do lesbian terfs honestly think the straight white supremacist conservatives they willingly align themselves with actuality view them as equal people because they don't, we are all deviants who ought to be eradicated from society in their eyes and lesbian terfs are aiding them in their goals by turning their back on their own community
Ok Folks, listen up. The electoral college doesn’t vote officially until December 19th. It is extremely rare and almost unheard of for them to vote against the majority of their district BUT IT CAN HAPPEN. The Electoral College was made for exactly this purpose! Remember, prior to December 19th, we have:
Court Case against Trump University Court Case Against Trump for accusations for rape and sexual assault If we pull together, we can swing this. We will have to be tireless. We will have to be unyielding. We will have to write, call, and march on every swing state that can have their electoral vote differently. We have to make our voices heard. Hillary WON the popular vote which means more of America wants her to be President than Trump. There is precedence for this to happen. There is cause. There is hope. With no state law against Pennsylvania voting against their popular vote, that’s 20 to go to Hillary. If Florida or any three other states swing, SHE WINS.
If we get them to vote different, we don’t have to worry about Trump or Pence because Hillary will have won. Until she hands over the nomination, she is still saying she is waiting for the official electoral votes to be made.
We can do this. We can win. LET’S SPREAD THIS LIKE WILD FIRE ON HERE AND FACEBOOK!

“Being a woman is not a means to humiliate and punish anyone”
After a policeman in the Iranian Kurdish town of Marivan paraded an accused criminal in traditional Kurdish women’s clothes in the streets in order to humiliate him, women marched in the city condemning the use of women’s attire as a kind of humiliation.
In support, an internet campaign of Kurdish and other Iranian men has sprung up showing men wearing Kurdish women’s clothes and messages and support. For example, this message says,”wearing Kurdish women’s clothes is not only not an insult, it is instead a great honor for us,” and goes on to describe how women stand side by side with men in every part of society and during wartime.
Support the campaign by liking the page! زن بودن ابزار تحقیر و تنبیه هیچ کس نیست

So we’ve been watching this series called How We Won The War and they’re currently doing a section about female ATA pilots during WW2 and holy shit look how badass they are They were the first women allowed into, let alone fly, an RAF aircraft. Their male peers were of they opinion that they should “go back to the kitchen” so only let them fly shitty archaic planes with open cockpits that nearly caused them to freeze to death one winter. They tried to make them wear skirts and stockings during winter but they were like “haha no” and wore proper flight gear instead. They flew in terrible weather with poor visibility, no radio and no electronic navigational equipment. Though not permitted to fly into combat zones they were still frequently under fire. Over time their contribution to the air force was recognised and the ATA was the first government organisation to give equal pay for equal work regardless of gender.
It's Only A Paper Moon - Chiemi Eri
Chiemi Eri, born January 11, 1937, died February 13, 1982) was a Japanese popular singer and actress.
Eri was born as Chiemi Kubo on January 11, 1937 in Tokyo, Japan. She started her singing career at the age of 14 with her version of "Tennessee Waltz." She sang American songs such as "Jambalaya" & "Come on-a My House". Eri started her career as an actress similar to Misora Hibari. Eri, Misora and Izumi Yukimura formed a trio. In her concerts, she was supported by Nobuo Hara's jazz band. - Wiki
(A personal note: This is my favorite song in the world and when she sings the lyrics in Japanese it becomes even more beautiful. An interesting lady, she was only sixteen when this was recorded!)

Are you looking at the world’s first computer programmer?
Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (10 December 1815 – 27 November 1852), born Augusta Ada Byron and now commonly known as Ada Lovelace, was an English mathematician and writer chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage’s early mechanical general-purpose computer, the analytical engine. Her notes on the engine include what is recognised as the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine; thanks to this, she is sometimes considered the world’s first computer programmer.
If the last name Byron sounds familiar, here’s why,
Ada was the only legitimate child of the poet Lord Byron (with Anne Isabella Milbanke, 11th Baroness Wentworth). [Text & Image Source: Wikipedia]
