i'd wanted to turn my circle pattern into a notebook for a couple of months & i finally finished them. they turned out exactly as i'd hoped. it's nice when that happens.
new in the shop: perpetual bicycle notebooks, screen-printed & bound by yours truly. i like them so much i'm even keeping one for myself.
trying to worry less about looking like i'm being productive/what others think/money. focussing on enjoying experimenting/making a mess/taking my time. that said, you can generally find evidence of said mess making here & some suggestion of messes made here.
sometimes it's nice to be given a simple topic to draw something for, rather than thinking of one yourself. a friend needed an editorial illustration for a publication she was producing in the final year of her master's degree, & asked if i'd illustrate a piece on knitting.
this may not be new to you if you follow me on flickr. a good place to catch up on bits & pieces whilst i find things to fill up this space.
i'm an impatient person, though i'm trying to embrace the fact that some things take time. i tried out wood carving a few weeks ago & the thing i made is still no-where near finished, so instead i drew a girl carving some wood, & the drawing is done.
things that april has taught me so far:
clutter is detrimental to your bank balance
clothes moths are rude & do not wait for an invite into your home
my mother was right all along; hoovering is important
did not realise how grumpy & disdainful lynxes look until i drew some. just look at this guy.
just a note to say that my new prints were delivered early & are now on sale: botanic I, botanic II, the botanic package & the bison.
oh man, is it really that time of year again? i always plan to do more work for the festive season - decorations, tags, wrapping paper, calendars - but once again, i'm not quite on the ball (next year, i swear). i did manage to get cards done however; these gocco-printed 'let it snow' cards feature festive snowflakes (including some shiny golden fellas) on recycled card. you can get these, plus a couple of older designs, over in the shop from today.
