remember that lil project i mentioned? well, here it is;, a project in which i illustrate my instagram feed, then post the drawings on instagram.

providing i've not completely misjudged time-zones, this queued post should be appearing in your blog-roll whilst i celebrate the wedding of two friends in new zealand. i created a small edition of lino prints that they could give out to guests, created just a few days before we had to leave to catch our flight. it's been a few years since i've made a successful lino-cut so i'm pretty pleased that it worked out. happy wedding times, dave & jenni!
did not realise how grumpy & disdainful lynxes look until i drew some. just look at this guy.
i'll post my piece for this soon.

hello sun! the weather is treating us well on the east coast of scotland today & it inspired me to try making some iced tea for the first time this morning. boiled the kettle, steeped the tea, put in some lemon then left it to cool whilst we went & lazed in the park for a couple of hours. added a little sugar & some ice cubes when we got home & there you have it. easy, cheap & a lot healthier than bottled stuff.
I reopened my ceramics shop yesterday! So this photo is already out of date & I already sold a bunch of things, but I'm posting this anyway because better late than never, right? ☞ Bolden is OPEN: http://bolden.bigcartel.com
as mentioned a few posts ago, i took part in this year's fun a day dundee, where participants are encouraged to do something creative every day for the month of january, culminating in an exhibition full of everyone's work. i opted for drawing a dancing lady as my daily task, throwing a variety of shapes to a song you can't hear (i like to think it might be this). i've included a selection of my favourites above, but you can see the whole thing here.
we just returned from what ended up being the best trip i've ever taken. a week in toronto & a week in new york, which also included visits to haliburton, new haven, salem & boston. despite a bout of jet-lag that feels more like a two day hangover, i'm going to attempt to summarise the trip before my terrible memory forgets some of the things that i want to remember.

so that was pretty long. i'm not expecting anyone to spend their time deciphering the details, but i do want to highlight the people who made our trip way better than we could have by ourselves: ian turner (i love & miss toronto way more than i thought i could thanks to this guy); leah goren & dylan ousley (super talented & lovely people who i'm so happy we got to meet); tuesday bassen, yelena bryksenkova & pete gamlen (new haven got lucky with this bunch); & elise towle snow (rad lady who i've wanted to hang out with for so long! yes!).
i'm picking up a few rolls of film from our trip tomorrow & will share more once i've got them uploaded.
