General Creepypasta Headcanons

Slenderman would live in a Manor, not a Mansion.

Manors: Manors are large homes surrounded by farm fields or forests, sometimes even fortified by a ditch or fence keeping it secluded from outside guests.

Mansions: In modern terms, mansion is just a fancy word for a big house. Mansions are more likely to be found on a hill overlooking a town or city below.

I don't think Slender would reside in a building so close to human society.

Speaking of which, none of the pasta's live at the Manor. Not only are there too many of them to fit inside, but realistically, they'd just try to kill each other.

Added on, Slenderman isn't human. I see him functioning more similarly to the fair folk (Faeries). He takes them in, they serve under him. It's merely a contract. Nothing more. He isn't a fatherly figure in the slightest-

Also considering Slenderman's abilities, the manor is not a regular house either. It is never in one location or another, it moves constantly between different realities. One moment it could be somewhere in Oregon, suddenly it's in Germany, and the next it's in Hell itself. But mainly I see it nestled somewhere deep within some corrupt form of purgatory.

So with that in mind, it would be incredibly difficult for the pasta's to even find the mansion much less live in it-

The Creepypastas though exist more like a black market. Residing in ghost towns or abandoned lodges and cabins. Some even staying in the shadows of cities, out of sight and out of mind.

I do see certain characters remaining in closely-knit groups, often staying in nearby areas, trading goods, or sharing information. But there are others who simply travel and live alone rarely coming to the populated ghost towns unless in desperate need of information or supplies.

I also don't think the Pasta's would refer to these places as a Mansion either. Isn't even close to being one.

The names I do think the Pasta's would call them: Outpost, The Underground, Shithole, Camp, Hell, Town, and even Garrison being in their vocabulary.

Some Pasta's definitely carry a bag with a few essential items and a couple personal belongings seeing as they travel regularly and don't have a home to stay personally.

Others have made themselves more than at home in the Outposts, building a house to live in and stay permanently. Finding new and creative ways to steal things like clothing, technology, mattresses, bedding, and furniture in general.

Sure some buildings might have some abandoned belongings, but it's likely they're broken, uncomfortable, moldy, or even rodent-infested.

So smuggling in a new sofa is always a show to witness with them.

"They... They stole a dresser sir. Jeff the Killer stole a dresser-"

Some are definitely better at it than others, and with the right deal or bribery, some pasta's have convinced others to get things for them while they're out.

I see Alfred as being more informed by his interactions with his states, sometimes cities, and also with Indigenous nations.

This is not to say that his interactions with European nations are unimportant especially his interactions with Arthur, Francis, or Ivan.

But when I look at US history, I understand the creation of the US as:

1. An agreement of states, who viewed themselves more of as nations, to form the United States. Before he can even begin to try and sway Francis to helping him in his revolution, he needs to convince his states to join him first, and not all of them were eager for Revolution. Especially given the fact, these British colonies operated differently from one another and were culturally distinct because they operated under salutary neglect (AKA Arthur wasn’t super present cause he was constantly getting involved in wars & was cash-strapped)

2. The US being a settler colonial state used war against Indigenous nations to expand its borders through violence.

I find this second point is lost on the fandom especially in narratives regarding American expansion, but also the American Revolution. It always irks me a bit to see the American Revolution as describes as Alfred’s first war, when it wouldn’t have been, especially if you are assuming he’s existed prior to the revolution. There were many different wars even prior to the revolution with Indigenous nations involved.

There were also many European wars with North American theaters — the French and Indian War which is the Seven Year’s War was the precursor to the revolution. Actually lol the amount of European wars with North American theaters did influence this push for isolationism (as in from Europe) following the revolution.

Anyways this confusing ramble is to say, I find the overemphasis on Alfred’s relationship to European nations like Arthur, or Francis, tends to gloss over the settler-colonial violence in North America due to European colonization. Also I find ignoring, or stating Alfred’s first war as being the revolution a bit…icky ? In the sense that it’s like people do not seem to view Indigenous nations as sovereign of the settler colonial state thus they’re not viewing the wars between indigenous nations and the settler colonial state as not being “true” wars as they view wars between the US & European nations.

I also find the fandom tends to just generalize the US as being broadly English in nature, and fails to further examine regional English identities that but also non-English identities that later come form various different cultural groups in different US states. And idk this also leads me into another conversation of why I’m not a fan of like putting a lot of different identities especially marginalized ones into Alfred’s character but that opens another can of worms that I do not wish to open right now LOL.

also this goes without saying, but im not saying you have to agree with me, nor am I saying if you never had this thought you’re like bad or whatever, I’m just stating my views lol

ah yes, our favorite creepy pup! there isn’t much to say about him, but here’s a few little facts 

🐾 Smile Dog HCs🐾

🐾 Smile does not kill people!! He never has!! He’s a good boy!!

🐾 He also doesn’t speak (some blogs have the headcanon that he talks, and I think in the original canon he can say a few phrases, but I just can’t see it and therefore, on this blog, he doesn’t speak) 

🐾 Smile was adopted by Slender as a Christmas present for Sally one year (meanie tumblr won’t let me add the link but the story behind this is in my masterlist) but he’s now become Jeff’s dog and serves as sort of an emotional support animal

🐾 Smile and Jeff are very close, with Smile even sleeping in the same room as Jeff at night, and Smile helps to regulate Jeff’s moods. 

🐾 Smile is mostly reddish but he also has black fur markings as well

🐾 He’s very fluffy!!! 

🐾 Which means he sheds. A lot. 

🐾 If you’re allergic to dogs, you might think you’d be allergic to Smile, but you won’t be. He’s a different breed (ha) altogether, and although he has lots of fur that he sheds, for some reason, people with dog allergies aren’t allergic to him

🐾 It’s probably due to the fact that, although we call him Smile Dog, he isn’t really a dog. Or at least, not the kind we’re used to. 

🐾 He’s a demonic dog, which there is a difference between demonic dogs and regular dogs

🐾 Slender thinks that Smile was probably turned into a demonic dog as a puppy, like how EJ was once a human but he became demonic, but nobody knows for sure. 

🐾 Smile is abnormally friendly and behaves like a normal dog however, which could indicate that he was, at one point in his life, a normal dog. Or he could just be a very friendly demonic dog. Who knows? 

🐾 Because he is a demonic dog, Smile eats a raw meat diet. Don’t worry, it’s not the same thing that EJ eats. It’s just raw meat, like a cut of beef that you’d get at the grocery store except you don’t cook it. (Some pet dogs actually do have this kind of diet, but Smile requires raw meat. He can’t eat regular dog food). 

🐾 Smile is also naturally nocturnal! Which means he’d be a sleepy boy during the day, but very active during the night. However, he’s sort of shifted his sleeping schedule since he lives with the other pastas, so now he sleeps during the late night and the morning, but is active during the afternoon and evening/early night. 

🐾 Smile enjoys receiving pets. A lot. He craves attention and his fur is very soft so you can have a lot of fun patting him :) 

🐾 Smile can have a bit of an attitude at times, not listening to commands that well, but for the most part he’s pretty well-behaved. 

🐾 He knows several tricks! He’s a smart boy :) 

🐾 Smile’s doggy personality is a mix between a husky, golden retriever, Great Pyrenees and German shepherd. 

🐾 In terms of looks, the closest he gets to a normal looking dog would be a cross between the two pictures below (red husky & husky/great pyrenees mix)
