The red curtain that reminds us it's just a show before the drawn panel splits open to reveal the opening scene of a softly crackling fireplace???? Goncharov's back to the audience, silence filled only by that burning sound????

Every single thing in that opening was just foreshadowing what's to come, all played over by the magnificently melancholic main theme. And it was fucking awesome.
