Maria lifted one arm, trembling, weak, as if the very air weighed her down. Her skin looked like it would bruise at a glance, like if he touched her, he might hurt her without meaning to. Her hand reached toward him, fingers outstretched. Something twisted inside Shadow. Not quite pain. Not quite rage. Resentment of knowing her sickness was why he existed. That he was crafted to save her.

And until now, no one had ever looked at him like he was anything more than that. No one had offered him warmth.

His voice, when it came, was hoarse. Unused.

“I was made… for you.”

"Isn't it beautiful, Rook? As far as the eye can see, a world healed. A world reborn. Our world reborn. Given a new meaning. I must admit, I had hoped for far too long that you would come around. That you would lay down your hostility, and join my side. But now, we need not fight any longer. We need not be at odds, for there is no one else I would rather see the return of the old world with. Come, Rook. Ar lath ma, ma'sule; let us bask in the reverie a while longer, before the real battle begins."

And here it is: another GDL DreadRook Cameo commission! This one is my take on what I would want Solas' dialogue to be in the event Rook agreed to help him take down the Veil at the end of the game. (I am a firm believer in the fact the Veil needs to stay up, but that doesn't mean I can't daydream or have thinky thoughts about what that would look like.)

Inspired by his dialogue at the end of the game where he says to Rook, "When you see the old world restored..." (Yes, I did kinda fumble not having GDL say that instead of reborn; I don't wanna talk about it.)
