Nine perceives the world as demanding or exhausting. Their objective in life is to maintain a peaceful state of being.

Their (unconscious) fear is being caught in chaos, conflicts or discomfort.

SEEKS: AUTONOMY By building walls to shield against disruptive “noises” from both inside and outside.

WITHDRAWN TO : INNER SANCTUM “I won’t be affected by this.” “Why rock the boat?”

Sloth comes from a desire for an untroubled existence. However, pursuing their own best interest often leads to potential disruptions that threaten their attachments to their “comfort zone” (relationships, hobbies, routines, etc.). Thus, 9s disconnect from their own anger and vitality to preserve a calm lifestyle.

Healthy 9s display remarkable adaptability to different situations, people or environments. They have a quiet endurance that allows them to patiently but persistently work toward their goals even in the face of adversity. They recognize that inner and outer conflict is essential for their self-actualization.

Average 9s struggle to engage with their life, feeling easily exhausted or stressed from the energy required to confront difficult situations or tasks. They avoid their inner work and let things happen by themselves : they believe their effort isn’t worth the trouble. This leads to increased passivity and stagnation in personal growth.

Healthy 9s excel at seeing multiple perspectives, synthesizing ideas and bridging gaps in knowledge or opinions while finding harmonious solutions to problems. They are deeply understanding and nonjudgmental, acting as excellent mediators in conflicts. They share the wisdom of their holistic view.

Average 9s might idealize others and minimize their problems, feelings and opinions, mistakenly thinking that their presence, suffering or contributions are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. They find it difficult to recognize their true needs and struggle to assert themselves and their desires.

Healthy 9s are truly self-possessed : rather than letting life get to them, they rely on their inner stability to maintain their composure even during stressful events. They are level-headed and make sensible decisions, which serves as a calming influence on others, making them reliable people in times of need.

Average 9s are excessively protective of their autonomy or status quo. They can be stubborn and passive-aggressive when they are pressured to change. To maintain a superficial sense of peace and avoid inner turmoil, they ignore problems, tune out others, or escape into daydreaming and soothing activities.
