I know I've talked about this before but thinking about Atsushi with tiger traits. Thinking about his eyes glowing at night if any light hits them and night vision. Enhanced hearing that causes a lot of sensory overload, especially during storms. Slightly hissing that just sounds like air leaving his mouth if he gets extremely startled, for example, someone waking him up from a nightmare. But it was something he would get punished for at the orphanage so it only makes anxiety worse.

alongside his whole cleanse-the-world-of-sin thing, fyodor’s secondary life goal is to learn as many string instruments as he can, own at least one of each, and dedicate an entire room to them. the only other one that knows is sigma, and they’re… honestly not even surprised

kunikida can speak spanish well enough to have an everyday conversation with someone, but he’s not totally fluent (i also like to think he’s very fascinated by the different dialects and knows a ton of variations of certain phrases)

because of this, dazai has committed exactly 5 spanish words to memory: cabrón, pelagatos, pendejo, pagafantas, and gilipollas. all insults. he uses them on chuuya sometimes thinking he doesnt understand (alas, he’s close to fluent and often returns these tiny insults with entire vulgar speeches in spanish)

while we’re on the topic of languages, sigma is completely fluent in both japanese and russian. fyodor and gogol (both non-native japanese speakers) are pretty good with the speech and pronunciation part, but they have a hard time reading and writing kanji, so they’ll often go and use sigma as a walking google translate

kyouka likes rock music! atsushi found her with headphones on once, asked if he could hear, and immediately got blasted to the other side of the room by mcr

atsushi, however, likes actual rocks. he has a little collection on the windowsill by his desk in the agency <33

the black lizard have game nights together once a month. higuchi caught them all heading to hirotsu’s place together and asked what they were doing, and when they told her, she immediately asked to join. a few months after she started tagging along, akutagawa was soon dragged into it as well. this is how they found out akutagawa is a huge rage-quitter (hirotsu has had to buy three new game tables since)

louisa and poe occasionally go out for coffee together. not on dates or anything, just to sit in each other’s quiet company and get work done together alongside delicious beverages. one time while the guild was still assembled, lucy asked louisa if she wanted a certain kind of coffee (she was practicing so she could eventually land her current job), and poe answered with her exact order before she did

during the dark era, dazai jokingly made a set of those neon loom friendship bracelets for oda, ango, and himself. today, ango still has his and oda’s, which he managed to save. it’s one of, if not the only remaining physical object that could ever prove oda’s existence.

anyway, back to the happy stuff- gogol and sigma are huge reptile nerds, especially lizards! gogol caught one once, and they spent hours playing around with it. fyodor passive-aggressively stared at them from across the room while reading a book on rats the whole time.

despite this, sigma can’t stand snakes. anything else scaley is cool, just not snakes- they do find most spiders adorable, though. gogol, on the other hand, is the complete opposite; he loves snakes and will burn the entire sky casino down if a single spider comes within a 2 mile range of it.

50% of mori’s obsession with elise comes from… y’all know what… but the other 50% is from his love for fashion and need for a model. apparently, he decided elise was the perfect candidate, and spoils her rotten trying to find her an outfit that not only he believes is stylish, but she finds agreeable as well (so far, he’s had no success)

one of steinbeck’s sisters is a professional hairdresser, so he knows a lot about hair care. as soon as he saw the state of lovecraft’s hair, he decided he absolutely would not have this and proceeded to spend the next three hours thoroughly detangling and cleansing it. other than steinbeck himself, louisa was the only one who got to touch it before lovecraft immediately jumped into the ocean again (she said it was perhaps the softest thing she’d ever felt with her own two hands. poe is secretly dying to feel it too someday)

ranpo often takes kenji, atsushi, and occasionally tanizaki out with him on snack shopping sprees! they all usually get addressed as “young boys”, despite only one of the three actually being a child- unless tanizaki comes along, in which case he is usually assumed to be the oldest in charge of the group.

Atsushi giving someone in the ADA a dead bird or mouse or something, and they throw it away because, obviously, it's a dead animal what else are they supposed to do with it? and Atsushi is so freaking hurt over it, like yeah his human brain gets it, but his heart is still broken, because that was a present and he worked so hard to give it to them and the rest of the ADA just stares at the person who threw it away like they're absolutely scum for throwing away Atsushi's present as Atsushi tries not to cry in the background.

• Constantly bites the skin around his nails.

• Is really jealous of Dazai because he can whistle but Atsushi can't.

• Sensitive teeth.

• Cannot eat anything super cold without wincing.

• Craves attention but prefers to be alone.

• Can't do anything without explicit permission and clear instructions.

• Will binge on whatever food is infront of him because he's scared it will disappear and he will miss the opportunity to eat.

what if genuinely the only thing i want to do is read/watch/JUST EVEN LOOK at atsushi nakajima. what if atsushi nakajima is the only person i have ever felt attracted to. what if atsushi nakajima is the best part of my life. i wish it was acceptable to talk about atsushi nakajima in public.

i want atsushi to have more cat like features. him getting twitchy when he sees birds or squirrels, growling when frustrated and purring softly when content, being very territorial, having a scratchy tongue……… i want him to be more big cat coded

HC that even under Fukuzawa's ability Atsushi gets moody as it gets closer to the full moon. He gets more easily irritated and tiger features like his fangs and ears pop out more often than usual. Even though the president can suppress the full transformation Byakko WILL want to do kitty things on the full moon and make it everyone else's problem that she can't

Headcanon: Atsushi can only fall asleep when he’s either completely exhausted or when he knows he’s safe.

He rarely got a good nights sleep growing up. Something that carried over when he was abandoned to the streets. He’d walk for hours despite having no energy hoping it would tire him out enough.

The first true good night sleep Atsushi had was during a game night with the Agency. Dazai was in the middle of antagonising Kunikida when Atsushi slump forward.

Luckily he only lightly head butted Dazai’s shoulder.

But he didn’t move.

Dazai was going to ask what was up and then noticed Atsushi was knocked out. He got everyone’s attention and Ranpo deduced it was because Atsushi was exhausted.

Kunikida made a note to make sure Atsushi wasn’t overworking himself (hypocrite.) While Dazai attempted to gently pry Atsushi off him. He froze when Atsushi cried out and clung to Dazai’s arm. His whole body shaking with fear.

Ranpo’s grin left his face, he took off his glasses and simply gestured for Dazai to stay.

Dazai frowned but did so. Running a hand through Atsushi’s hair and reassuring him he was here. It was a relief to them all when Atsushi calmed down. Make an adorable chuffing sound as he did so.

Kunikida questioned what was happening and Kenji said he seen animals on the farm act like this. Ones that were injured or had been mistreated by others would act on edge.

But when they found others that made them feel better they’d act more like themselves.

And stick to the others like glue.

And the Agencies were Atsushi’s glue, his safety.

A blanket was wrapped around Atsushi and in the end they all had a sleepover in the living room of the dorm building.

Because after that none of them could bare to leave Atsushi alone right now. And Atsushi had the best sleep he’d had in years.

Time for Dazatsu fluffy headcanon

It is saying something about my obsession with my tiger cinnamon roll that I imagined him when I was studying about cat body language.

About my headcanon. Well, it’s not even a secret that Dazai is this master at reading people. He is just so expert at stripping someone naked with his eyes that no one is safe. Everyone held onto their pants (or skirts) whenever they encounter him, to no avail because that person is just so sinfully beautiful and dangerous.

Ehem.

But what if because of his ability, Atsushi showed a completely different body language than normal people? I am not an expert at tiger’s body language so I will just use cat’s. Trivia for you guys who are interested:

Cats don’t like to stare directly into someone’s eyes because to them it means ‘fight me’.

Cats are vocal with their happiness (the beauty of purring that makes human fell head over heels over this furballs), but they are master at poker face whenever they hide their pain. Let me tell you, you will be lucky if they even vomit or loss weight whenever they are in tremendous pain. They are just that good.

They mark things to show possessions over things that they want to keep or their territory. They rub their body around your feet as you walk? They don’t want to kill you (why should they kill their source of food and affection) but they are saying ’you are mine. Other cats should piss off because you are my human’

There are many more but it’s nearly 1 am and I have to get up early tomorrow but if someone wants to ask you can send an ask. Mind you I am not an expert and I am still learning and this is mainly to proof my obsession of Dazatsu.

So what if Dazai saw Atsushi and… he just mistakes things because he is so used in reading humans?

“Ah, Atsushi doesn’t make eye contact with me. Is he afraid? Or is he lying? But his words are genuine. So why won’t he look at me?”

“Atsushi’s smile is just so beautiful… but how could he smile while being all bloody and hurt after that fight? Do I need to call Yosano-sensei? Have his Ability healed him completely already?”

“Atsushi, why are you rubbing your heads on my chest? I mean it’s adorable and I love it but I’m supposed to be the shameless one with public display of affection…”

Also a bit of a…nsfw one:

“Dazai, why are you wincing so often today?”

“Last night Atsushi scratched at my back when we have sex and unfortunately I don’t heal as fast as him.”

Cue Kunikida sprayed his coffee everywhere. While Dazai just smiled this smug smile. And Atsushi’s face rivalling that of a boiled crab.

Dazai continued on wondering why Atsushi is an enigma to him until one day Haruno squealed while looking at her phone. Dazai saw the cat photo and Haruno immediately became this cat wikipedia who explained all of the cute cat behavior and everything. Just. Clicked. Together.

Then someday when Atsushi is cuddling with him at their home, Atsushi blinked at him slowly. Dazai used to think that it meant Atsushi was sleepy, but now he knew that for cats it was the symbol of trust. Trust that he won’t hurt Atsushi and Atsushi could keep his guard down whenever he is with him.

So Dazai blinked back, slowly. Atsushi, who was doing all of this cat behavior subsconsciously, doesn’t know why his heart feel so warm and he has this greatest impulse to kiss Dazai. Along with rubbing their face together.

It became a sort of secret language for both of them. Dazai will be the first one to notice whenever Atsushi is in pain. Since Dazai can’t actually mark Atsushi with scratches because Atsushi heals too fast, Dazai will lend his clothes to Atsushi whenever they have to be separated on a long mission. Whenever they are snuggling, Dazai will pet Atsushi’s head and let Atsushi peppers him with little kisses.

Too bad that tiger can’t actually purr because that would be perfect but tiger can chuff and it’s equally adorable. I have some more cute headcanons but I really have to sleep now *cries*

Fun fact: A tigers mating ritual last about six days, this consists of them walking around each other vocalizing softly Atsushi just walking around Akutagawa, humming softly: Akutagawa: What are you doing? Atsushi, still walking and humming: Nothing, nothing at all

Atsushi with more non-human features. Atsushi with reflective eyes that creep out (some of) the ADA. Atsushi with pupils that contract into slits like a cat's when the area is bright. Atsushi with small fangs, canines sharper than a normal persons. Atsushi with heightened senses, who picks up on small details that even Ranpo can't. Atsushi who has naturally more animalistic behaviors and movements. Atsushi who shows affection in strange ways, like headbutting or slow blinking. Atsushi who's ability is wholly a part of him, ingrained in his very being.

Does Acchan know of the cookie monster? I feel like he would enjoy the cookie monster or see him as a rival

Baby Acchan LOVES the muppets. They're bright and colorful and soft and fun!

He also immediately goes into stalking behavior anytime Big Bird is on the screen, and Atsushi's had to replace the television twice.

Just as a side note to the Runaway sskk au: Kyouka is saved from the mafia by Akutagawa.

Atsushi was never the level that og!Akutagawa was as a mentor, but Kyouka was scared as fuck of him because he never took human form near her and was always watching from afar, so she frequently felt like walking on eggshells and like he would kill her if she made the slightest slip during any of her missions.

In reality Atsushi was just trying to look out for her in a way a tiger will usually deal with a cub close to the age of beggining to hunt, tottally unaware of how scary he was for her until she was hiding behind Akutagawa when he came to retrieve Kyouka from the ada and realized she thought of him as a threat.

I am BEGGING the bsd fandom/fanfic writers to PLEASE know basic feline anatomy and that TIGERS CAN’T PURR! I know it’s cute to have Atsushi purring, BUT HE CAN’T! I’m sorry, but it’s not possible… but write him chuffing! Chuffing is cute too!
