Leaning against the wall, you discreetly snuck longing glances at one particular person standing not thirty feet away from you. To you, it felt like you were separated by a lot more than just a few feet of wood. You lowered your head into your hands, heaving a sigh aimed at yourself.

Myzax is back

I’m shocked that nobody has mentioned this yet from the trailer, as it was a detail I noticed the first time I saw it. You remember this guy? From season 1 episode 3?

Myzax, the monster that Shiro fought so long ago when he was the champion, and the very first robeast to ever appear on the show. They even made a toy of him because he was the first robeast! Truly iconic. Well…

It looks like he’s back for some reason in the season 8 trailer, fighting the individual lions in what appears to be space, or maybe even the astral plane.

They destroyed him completely in their first encounter in season 1, so it doesn’t make sense for him to literally reappear. Unless Honerva brings him back? Or a random theory I thought of is, perhaps Honerva is going to conjure up projections of all of Voltron’s past enemies? That would not only be intense, but it’d be quite the nostalgia trip to go down the line of all the major robot enemies our paladins have faced throughout the show.

Whatever the case, he’s at the end of every opening credits sequence when Voltron slices all three robeasts, so it’ll be interesting to see what role he has to play in season 8, as well as what other call backs they’ll bring into play. After all, if they’re revisiting an enemy from the early episodes of season 1, what else are they going to be bringing back in season 8???

Voltron Legendary Defender was a good show and a good example of a reboot in an era where most reboots are mediocre at best and it doesn’t deserve to be treated like trash just because its fandom is complete cancer.
