It increasingly feels like securing a publisher as an indie game dev isn't as much of a "solution" as it used to be. Seems like I'm constantly hearing about devs fighting with publishers or really poor performance on launch. Am I crazy? Is this just some kind of insane bias I've stumbled into because of who I know / the games I pay attention to? Anyone have any like... good stories to share about their publisher?
i'm playing wytchwood and it's fine and all but i'm getting pretty frustrated with having to go around and gather ingredients and everything so now i'm just looking at a walkthrough to see what are the necessary items i need for the rest of the game and am starting to make a spreadsheet to see if i can just calculate the numbers of things to get and prepare ahead of time so i don't. have to. keep going to the swamp to get things like oh god please

Divers free a Megamouth shark from a fishing net in Tateyama Bay.
The Megamouth is a large deep-sea shark, rarely seen by people. Despite reaching a considerable adult size of 4m-5.2m, they are the smallest of the filter-feeding sharks, which includes the Basking Shark and the Whale Shark.. Their large mouths are lined with bioluminescent photophores, which are thought to attract plankton and fish to the slow-moving shark.

My Indie Game - Blue Province
Greetings to everyone and anyone who sees my post! My name is Pumpkin Patch!
Blue Province is a cozy indie game set in a town destined to be sacrificed to the chaos deity! It's art style is inspired by Gameboy games. The game is character focused, and takes place over five days.
It's going to be pretty short, likely around an hour long. I am a decent percent through the making of the game, and I hope to soon put out a trailer and a demo for it!
