So. I may have told an idea about an au for twst that is like the reversed version of @fluffle-writes 's au. I love their au and I just wanna make stuff for this idea. Idk what to do other than skits and ideas. But ye. (I am going back to my weirdcore/dreamcore/kidcore roots, for the mutuals that know.)
the kids online safety act passed the u.s. senate.
long story short (for anyone who hadn't heard of this before) the kids online safety act, aka kosa, is a bill that will censor online content and resources for lgbtq+ matters, reproductive healthcare, activism (INCLUDING PALESTINE AND LIKELY OTHER CRISES GOING ON LIKE IN CONGO OR SUDAN), mental health, etc. everywhere--its effects likely won't be contained to just america.
today, july 30th, 2024, the senate passed it 91-3. it has officially moved to the house of representatives.
is this a pretty massive setback? yes. do you have every right to be scared, sad, angry, or whatever else about this happening? absolutely. but should you give up hope completely? NO!
even though kosa passed the senate, the house is on break/august recess at the moment. we have around an entire month to get emails, calls, and faxes in to house reps, maybe more depending on when they decide to vote on it.
should it pass the house and get signed into law, we still have a whole 18 months before it actually goes into effect. this is plenty of time for digital rights orgs (e.g. fight for the future, the electronic frontier foundation) and other groups that oppose it to file a lawsuit against it. even if, worst-case scenario, it flies through the house immediately after the recess ends, we can still fight this up to march 2026.
so, yes, remember what's at stake here, but also remember that it's not over yet. we lost a battle, not the war.

Basically, if you donโt know: The people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Or the DRC) has been suffering due to big tech companies like Apple, Alphabet Inc., Google, Dell, Microsoft and Tesla. They have been exploiting Congoโs land for their minerals like Diamonds, Gold, Copper, Cobalt, Tin, Tantalum and Lithium. These companies use these minerals to make phones, cars, computers and other technology.
The people of Congo are being treated like dirt, like they worth less than the colonizers stealing from them. The colonizers, which they call โRebelsโ have been r*ping, killing brutally, enslaving, and starving them. They are being kicked out of their land because these big tech companies want it. Theyโre being killed and r*ped because these big tech companies think they have the right.
This isnโt right!! So research whatโs going on, tell others, spread awareness. Look up what companies are exploiting Congo and boycott. Donโt buy their stuff, keep using your phone or laptop until itโs broken and unusable.

I can see this version of Yuu having a camera for a head maybe. Or an oddly obscured head that looks like one of those images where they overlay a ton of people's faces over each other to get the average appearance, except a lot of them are misaligned and constantly shifting - so it looks vaguely human-sghaped but it's twitching and turning but also staying in place and you can't recognise any features idk lol

Yuu would be kinda in-between the height of Idia and Ortho but Grim would be like an actual kitty for them! They can still be magicless, but maybe they still warp reality around themself when they interact with the world around them. Ace breaks an egg when they're standing too close and the spiders thing happens to him. Yuu gets cheese like Weirdcore Trey did and baffles Trey severely.
Crowley can't threaten them into helping with Octavinelle because he doesn't want to be known as the guy who let Yuu loose in their world - but they get caught up in everything anyway because they're curious to a fault and also their kitty is being hurt by some bastards.
They think human hair looks edible at one point and tries to take a bite out of Riddle's ahoge. They get a long lecture about it lmao.
I wonder if it'd be better to have Weirdcore Yuu be slightly younger actually... That way they'd only be about 7 feet tall and they can act more childishly - which could be even funnier for the TWST cast to deal with. Like, what do you mean they're bigger than Malleus (HORNS INCLUDED) and they're only, like, 10 or something. They're still growing!? When do they stop growing!?

Imagine if they get stuck in a mirror (not the dorm mirrors, some other mini pocket dimension. Maybe like a bathroom), and to the Weirdcore guys getting out of a mirror is like unlocking a stall for a public bathroom and stepping out, but Yuu can't figure out how to unlock it so Ace and Deuce have to call Crowley or someone to get them out

Imagine how the hijinks would start - with Ace (because of course he would) waiting outside your door with a plate covered in whipped cream in hand whilst you and Deuce studies together. He had intended on targeting you, but that went pear shaped as soon as he sent the plate flying into Deuce's face as soon as the door had been opened. The moment you saw Ace cackling and Deuce's face coated in the sticky substance, you knew that a war was about to start.
Imagine being caught up in Deuce's trap for Ace, walking into the Heartslabyul dorm at the worst time and having a cauldron's worth of icy cold water tipped onto your head (with the cauldron luckily staying in place above the door.) The first thing you'd see would be the shocked expression of Deuce in front of you, before he held a hand to his mouth in an attempt to muffle his laughter. At least Trey has warm towels on standby, having just taken the fluffy fabric out of the dryer - although it's clear by how he deflects conversations about the pranks that he is not going to get involved.
Imagine Ace and Deuce's faces when they enter their class only to be met with a faceful of feathers each, and being unable to brush them off without them getting stuck to their hands and arms instead. Imagine their disbelief when they realise that you had convinced Cater to help you enchant the feathers so that they'd be sticky and near impossible to remove without the help of magic - the best payback for your two chaotic friends.
Imagine the devilish grins on each of their faces when they realised the best way to immediately get payback - quickly capturing you in their arms and giving you a big hug so that many of the feathers would end up stuck to you as well. The laughter between the three of you as you all realise how silly you look would make your heart feel a little lighter and smile feel a little wider... And it'll soften the blow of Crewel doling out detentions once he enters the classroom to see the three of you causing such chaos.
Yuu(in the weirdcore Au): I could win in a fight with Aceโฆ
Ace: Pff! Yeah, right. How exactly would you doโ
He has ONE big ass eye, I will take advantage of that in a fight.
But also, could Yuu just poke him in the eye and he would just get annoyed or would something supernatural happen if they touch those weirdcore parts?

I feel like a number of things can happen... The funniest to me is the potential for Yuu to get their hand stuck - like, picture with me...
Ace is teasing Yuu and being a bit of a little shit. Yuu, naturally, gets tired of his shit and tries to gently bonk him over the head to get him to stop. Only for their hand to immediately feel like that static-y pins and needles tingly feeling when you move your leg after you've been sat on it too long completely fills their hand in an instant.
And they can't pull it away.
It's like there's a beat of silent shock as everyone who witnessed the exchange just kinda pauses to process before-
Ace: "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK"
Yuu: I DON'T KNOW I FORGOT YOUR HEAD IS 90% EYE
Ace: TAKE IT OUT!?!??!
Yuu: I CAN'T--
It takes the assistance of Trey and Cater to calm Ace down so that Yuu's hand can be pulled from the sticky mucous membrane that apparently helps protect beings with such large eyes from larger debris or weak attacks.
Yuu: who tf are you calling weak?
Cater: Not you, Yuu-yuu!
Yuu leaves that encounter with a hand covered in a reddish iridescent goo and new knowledge about how some of their new, weird friends work. (And a whiney ace about how the spot where their hand got stuck feels weird and numb for the next few minutes)
Trey: What did we learn?
Yuu: Ace's eye goo tastes like cherries.
Trey: No, we- wait did you eAT IT?!!?!?!

Weirdcore Malleus Edit

Tada! It's Malleus! I had tons of help from @lumabeansta - who came up with most of the ideas for this particular edit!
If you look closely enough, you can see that the scaled wings that Malleus has here are made from edited bat wings! I realised that bat wings were the closest to reptilian-looking/dragon wings that I could find - and I think it's kinda funny that I took an image of a bat's wings to make the wings here.
I was only able to add one eye to the tail without it looking weird in a it-doesn't-work way instead of a kinda-cool-kinda-creepy way, so I put a bunch of eyes on his wings instead! I also added some horns with flame details, and a transparent lantern head so that it looks even cooler!
I couldn't really figure out how to get the thorns to work and look good though (โ ๏ฝกโ โขฬโ ๏ธฟโ โขฬโ ๏ฝกโ ) 'twas a bit too tricky for lil ol' me - I may take a crack at adding some at a later date though! I hope you like this edit!

When the anti "LGBT propaganda" law passed in Russia, all of you were going insane and cared. Give Georgia the same energy. If you can have sympathy for our oppressors on the basis of them being queer, you should keep the same energy for us, if not more.
If this law passes, every Georgian queer person I know is so severely fucked, myself included. If you make jokes about "being illegal in several countries" you better fucking care about the countries you're apparently illegal in, or going to be illegal in.

So yes, the gang does rememeber their old lives. Itโs JUST the names they forgot. Which makes a lot more since with not only Pomni verbally panicking about forgetting her name when if she did forget who she was, she one A. Would not know about the โweirdโ head set she put on. And B. Wouldnโt even care about what her name is or was. Not to mention Jax referencing Augustus Gloop which that alone proves he remembers watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
