People horrifically fucking up facts about evolution and genetics too support their stupid beliefs or to seem smart and “rational” is probably one of my big pet peeves
Hey Josie, do you know any comics similar to SnotGirl? I’ve read both volumes of Snotgirl, Papergirl, Motor Crush, and Heavy Vinyl. Do you have any suggestions? 💋
lumberjanes !! lots of lgbt (seriously, 2 or more lesbians, a trans girl, a nb kid too) main characters. it’s very warm and fun, and it reminds me of gravity falls honestly!! just a bunch of kids at camp in the woods, trying 2 earn their patches and defeating monsters along the way (& also pissing off their camp instructor)
bingo love! started out as a webcomic on tumblr, turned into a comic that now has physical copies out in stores. about two black wlw who come from disapproving families and have an amazing love story. talks about the hardships of dealing with your sexuality when you have children, too.
the backstagers ! more lgbt kids/teens, this time its more about mlm who are in theatre i’m pretty sure!! i havent actually read this one yet but i want to pick it up soon
moonstruck - again, i haven’t actually read this one and i probably won’t (not my style honestly!) but it is a favorite among wlw on here especially due to it’s witchy themes!! :)
giant days !!!!! ive been meaning 2 read this for FOREVER and it follows three girls who go to university and become best friends! i’m 90% sure theres some lgbt/wlw stuff in it too
none of these are really thematically like snotgirl, and you probably won’t find a lot more comics that are like it because snotgirl is pretty much one of a kind, but all of these comics r super duper good and follow the indie/weird trend.
also, in case you didn’t know, snotgirl #11 comes out on august 8th and it’s supposed to be very gay.
if you need any more recs the blogs @dailyindiecomics and @lgbtincomics are where i always find mine :00

Highly relatable if you were ever in middle or high school theater. Plenty of romantic drama, as you may have guessed by the name, but a really cute story.
This one is kind of the odd one out on this list and I debated leaving it off because of that. Aster isn’t explicitly queer, but his story does explore what it means to be gender non-conforming with a supernatural twist. Deals with breaking gender roles, and is really sweet. (It also has a very nice sequel called Hidden Witch)
This book gives me life. It’s just very sweet.
I mean, I’m just a sucker for this art style. LOOK HOW CUTE.
Noelle Stevenson can always be trusted to deliver, and Lumberjanes certainly does.

Even though I don’t really play on this bedrock realm anymore, I wanted to leave behind something bigger and cooler than my tiny hut, so I built a big base!! Maybe I’ll never log back in again, but at least I enjoyed building this lol
I really do think that the whole sense of "any interaction with children is predatory" is what enables predators to win over kids so easily.
When you're young and no one ever shows you healthy intergenerational interactions outside of close family and/or authority figures (and kids are most often taught to simply obey and not question adults of [perceived] authority), any time someone in that position gives you positive attention becomes almost heroic. And it certainly becomes intoxicating, especially for ~weird~ kids with 'uncommon' interests, or kids who just simply don't get regularly indulged by adults in their lives.
Yes, we have to be aware of and mindful of how people who would prey on kids use being nice, or just listening, to kids. However, if kids don't know that they *can* challenge adults, or that there *are* ways adults can interact with and educate them that aren't simply rooted in authority, they'll have a harder time recognizing that an adult *isn't* behaving the right way.
Simply treating a child as if they're a being in your community, and a being with inherent worth, isn't predatory. That's just what being part of the world is.
Why else do you think they say it takes a village to raise a child?
Black tea
Think black tea makes you feel good? You’re right. It’s been proven to help you de-stress fast. It also helps eliminate bad breath. Plus medical research indicates that it lowers the risk of heart attacks and strokes, and reduces bad cholesterol.
Green tea
Want to stay slim, trim and beautiful? The antioxidants in green tea just might slow signs of aging, prevent the flu and raise your metabolism. More dramatically, it’s being shown to prevent and slow cancer, and help with arthritis and bad cholesterol too.
Oolong tea
This one’s known as a fat-buster in China, and science is indicating that it does indeed speed up your metabolism, burn fat and block fat absorption! Use it to fight expanding waistlines, high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease.
White tea
Science is saying that white tea might be more effective than even green tea at preventing cell damage, shrinking cancerous tumours and stopping the growth of cancer cells. Plus it’s becoming the new cosmetic fix for aging skin. Beautiful!
Pu’erh tea
Traditional Chinese medicine prizes Pu’erh as a wonder tea. It’s said to aid digestion, cleanse the blood and help with weight loss. Studies in Europe are also saying it busts cholesterol as effectively as some medications.
Rooibos tea
It’s said that rooibos helps you recover from hangovers, and that it could slow dementia. Plus there’s evidence that it fights skin cancer and boosts the immune system. And it’s supposed to help with insomnia!
Yerba tea
Yerba mate is a fabulous stimulant, without the jitters. It’s also full of antioxidants, so there’s scientific speculation that it could have anti-cancer properties, help stimulate the immune system and protect against disease.
Herbal tea
Herbs, spices, fruits and flowers have long been used in traditional medicine to cure everything from headaches, stomach bugs and colds to stress and insomnia. The power of the tea depends on its ingredients.

I love that the internet saw people comparing women and other alienated groups of people and went, “they’re dating,” and, “they support each other.” We’re improving as a society.

Loving how as soon as electricity was like, a Thing, people just went "you can make toast with this" and started working on electric toasters but they didn't quite have the whole heating element thing down so there was a not insignificant chance of it just exploding

Make-up can absolutely be artistic, but the difference between make-up and say, painting, is that artists aren’t expected to all paint the same standardised picture before leaving the house every day just to be treated with respect.

I know everything on this website is US centred but lets just talk about how germany decided to make conversion therapy illegal today for a sec!!!!! and the punishment will be jail time!!! which is big cause you don’t go to jail that easily in germany!!!!

I find it kinda funny that ppl characterize Raven as an anti social emotional loner that hates ppl when that’s legit the opposite of her character lol
Okay, teenagers are a bit immature but you want to know what is really, really immature?
Sexualizing things meant for kids and then harassing those kids when they say they don’t like it.
Kids aren’t stupid and they don’t deserve to be ridiculed by adults who don’t give a damn.
i’d rather be called a kinkshamer than support pedophillia
what comphet is: a serious issue lesbians face when society makes them feel as though they have to/are obligated to/supposed to be with men.
what comphet isn’t: an excuse to erase bisexual characters and representation in media because you don’t like that a character is bisexual and not lesbian
being horny is so fucking stupid. if you horny you’re immediately a dumbass. that person could literally just be wearing a t shirt and the sight of their collarbone feels like you just snorted a line of coke. god fucking forbid they wear pants rolled over their ankles. you’re foaming at the mouth and crounched on the floor like a fucking animal. you catch the sight of (1) toned muscle? flatlined. dead.
bisexuals are not being homophobic/lesbophobic when they tell you that it’s bi erasure to call canonically bi characters gay/lesbian
bisexuals are not being homophobic/lesbophobic when they take issue with you coming onto their posts talking about canonically bi characters with some “umm no sweaty they’re gay :)” bullshit
bisexuals are not being homophobic/lesbophobic when they call gays and lesbians out on their bi erasure and biphobia
