The Summoners - Chapter 1

Brand New Beginning

Summary: just a normal girl with a weird dream moving to a new and interesting town on short notice, this is definatly not sci-fi or fantasy (sarcasm)

It was a normal Wednesday afternoon. Thea, who was a 16-year-old girl, with short curly brown hair with golden accents in a slightly messy ponytail and dark brown eyes, came back from school. “Mom, Dad, I’m home,” she yelled as she walked in.

“Hi sweetie, how are you, me and your father have something important to tell you,” Thea’s mom yelled as she came out of the kitchen to greet Thea.

“oh?” Thea said surprised

“Yes, I got a job out of town, far out of town, well more like 20 towns away, and we all have to move,” said Thea’s dad in a sort of defensive tone.

“WHAT!” screamed Thea, shocked. Once Thea got back to her senses she went up to her room and did her homework. When she finished her homework she went back down to quickly have dinner and then back up to go to sleep. 

A girl in a beautiful white flowing dress with yin-yangs. A sun, a crescent moon, and a yin-yang on her calm fairy-like face were standing in a grassy meadow, her hair flowing as if it was water. She was holding a white wooden staff with a bright pink orb on top of it. A unicorn with white fleece and a light pink horn along with a shadow steed (a horse made out of black smoke) galloped up to her, cuddling her in a cat-like manner. A phoenix with fiery red wings and a golden beak along with a dragon with white scales, golden horns, and rainbow accents landed near her. Then the floor started to shake when a ghost of a titan started walking to the area where the girl was. When the titan reached the place the girl was in, she turned to look at the ghost and then the girl started to -- Thea’s bedroom door had opened, Thea was on her bed cuddling her stuffed animal, her mom had opened the door saying that Thea didn't have to go to school if she didn't want to. Thea thought she should go tell her friends that she was moving, who was she kidding she had no friends except Ariana, though she should probably tell her.

When Thea got to school she met up with Ariana who was slightly shorter than Thea with long black hair and her face covered in freckles. “Ariana, guess what,” she said.

“What” Ariana responded.

“You're never gonna believe it,” Thea said sadly.

“Lemme guess, hm, your moving, no wait-”

“Actually yes,” Thea said surprised, “My dad got a job 20 towns away.” 

“Oh no! I’m gonna miss you,” Ariana solemnly replied. They walked into class and sat down, took out their notebooks, and started class.

When Thea got home she went upstairs to her room to do her homework, then packed her stuff. Thea started by packing her toys, then her pictures. “I hope Ariana calls me so we can talk while I pack,” Thea thought. After a while, when Ariana still hadn’t called, Thea started to pack her clothes when her mom yelled across the house “THEA, SOMEONE IS ON THE SCRIBE AND THEY WANT TO TALK TO YOU.” Thea was surprised no one called her except for Ariana but she never used the scribe she always called on the phone. Nevertheless Thea went down to the scribe, a scribe was a big touch screen the size of a T.V. where you could call people on.

On the scribe was a boy around the age of Thea with dark skin, black tightly curled hair, and green eyes. “Hi, I'm Skia, and I am in charge of making new students feel welcome at ‘creathis school for the creative’ What are your skills?” 

Confused, Thea responded, “ um, I have an A+ in math.”

“No, I mean your talents, like art, gaming, coding, ETC.”

“Oh okay, I'm a really good artist. I even have a painting of mine on Insta with over 10 millions likes, and I have one of the games I coded,  animated, and voice acted for on STEAM.”

“Oh wow,” Skia responded, shocked, “you'll fit right in here, maybe even have a higher ranking than most other students,” Thea smiled proudly, but started to wonder why she was being called. 

“Why are you calling me about a school I'm not even in?” she asked. 

“Oh didn’t someone tell you that you're moving?” Skia responded.

“Uh yeah”

“Well your new school is ‘creathis school for the creative’” Skia told her. Surprised, Thea turned to look at her mom who was straightening up the living, and pretended not to notice or listen.

Once Thea and her parents got to the new town they checked in at a hotel room since they still didn’t have a home there yet but we're working on it. The new town was called Khalkeus. “Hey, I’m going to check out my new school, kay?”  Thea Said to her parents though she knew they wouldn’t mind. She set off to her school, and about 5 minutes into her walk to check out the new school she remembered that she doesn’t know where it is. She looked around and saw a girl around her age wearing headphones that had the ‘creathis’ school logo. “Hey, do you go to ‘creathis’,” She asked the girl, who had black hair up in a braided bun, blue eyes, and was wearing a short pink dress with a lavender unicorn embroidered on the front of it.

“Huh, what, uuuhh, who are you?” she said.

“Hi, I'm Thea and I'm new here. I'm going to ‘creathis’ school for the creative, do you know how to get there?” 

“Oh, uh, yeah I’m the head of the greeting committee, come on, I’ll show you where it is.” After a while of walking she spurted, “OH, and by the way my name is Keros, sorry it’s not all the time I have to introduce myself, it’s a small town, and it has a bad record, A bunch of criminals learn their skills from here but luckily no one in town was actually hurt.” After that, it was a quiet walk except for the occasional direction telling.

“WOW,” exclaimed Thea, impressed at the school building which was obviously the students’ top art project, “This is beautiful.”

“Mhm!” Keros said positively, “All the students helped out,  the painting squad painted the walls, the gaming group decided where the stuff went for the most efficiency, and the robotic team created all the robots that help us, as well as the lockers,” she said as she pointed to a locker with what looked like a fingerprint lock mechanism. “So here is your locker number and schedule, you start on tuesday, and you’ll receive your chip tomorrow,” Keros said as if every school did it. Thea stopped where she was, scared, then Keros realized that the chip thing wasn’t normal. “Oh, don’t worry, it’s just to find you if you get lost, to track your heart rate, and if you have diabetes it tracks the sugar in your bloodstream,” she said trying to sound reassuring. Still, Thea didn't like the idea of it but was willing to do it to be able to attend this amazing school. “Anyhow, it’s not painful to get in, to have it in, or to take out,” Keros tried to reassure, “After you finish school they take it out, so you don’t live with it forever.”

Once they got to the “team room”, a special room where the teams have meetings and hang out, they’re also a “group room” and “squad room”, which are essentially the same thing but for groups and squads. “Well, see ya later,” Keros said, waving bye.

“BYE!” yelled Thea walking away. After about half a minute of walking, Thea was about to ask someone for directions when - Brrrrrr Brrrrrr Brrrrrrr - Her phone rang - Brrrrr Brrrrr Brrrrrr - She answered her phone. 

“THEA ISORROPIA PROGONOUS, WHERE ARE YOU!!!!”

I wonder

If my exes ever feel like a little burst of emotion when they read my name, or see a text from me in a group chat they long forgotten I was a part of

cause while I haven't blocked any of them (we all ended on mostly chill terms) I still don't enjoy interacting with them

like I could not read their story for practically a year, and then I randomly do once

I wonder if they get shocked, or happy, or sad, or reminise (however tf you spell that)

I don't really care, I'm just curoius

If they feel any emotion readin my name, even if it's pure hatred or absolute happiness, I feel like I did a job well done to make them still remember me like that
