Strolling aimlessly in a bookshop is self care
when sylvia plath wrote “the silence depressed me. it wasn’t the silence of silence. it was my own silence.” and when anne carson wrote “why does tragedy exist? because you are full of rage. why are you full of rage? because you are full of grief.” and when jenny slate wrote “and i am getting older but i am not growing up and my heart is getting soft dark spots on it like a fruit that has gone bad.” and when virginia woolf wrote “to want and not to have, sent all up her body a hardness, a hollowness, a strain.” and when susanna kaysen wrote “when you’re sad, you need to hear your sorrow structured into sound.” and when margaret atwood wrote “already my childhood seemed far away – a remote age, faded and bittersweet, like dried flowers. did i regret its loss, did i want it back? i didn’t think so…” and when gillian flynn wrote “i was not a lovable child, and i’d grown into a deeply unlovable adult.”
idk why the line “to love another person is to see the face of god” was ever written when the same effect could have been achieved by shooting me in the face

Words can be razor sharp and undermine both reason and heart … The words can be soft petals in flower, barely touching the skin and leaving burning in the depths of being.

Las palabras pueden ser afilada navaja y socavar tanto a la razón como al corazón… Las palabras pueden ser suave pétalo en flor, apenas rozando la piel y dejar ardor en el fondo del ser…

and yeah, it’s really quite more painful than it sounds i can’t believe we’re losing the connection that we found i’m heavy with the weight of missing you, my dear, and i would tell you how but you’re too far away to hear that this was the worst day, cause this was the first day that you’re gone
i got a bit of reading done, while this little cutie rested. finals are right around the corner, but instead of finding this as an excuse to work yourself to the bone - just breath. and do not forget to take care of yourself, because you deserve it.

“If you inherently long for something, become it first. If you want gardens, become the gardener. If you want love, embody love. If you want mental stimulation, change the conversation. If you want peace, exude calmness. If you want to fill your world with artists, begin to paint. If you want to be valued, respect your own time. If you want to live ecstatically, find the ecstasy within yourself. This is how to draw it in, day by day, inch by inch.”

Not to be over dramatic or anything but the decline in popularity of hand written letters is one of the most disappointing decisions we've made as a modern society.
