Not too new to tumblr anymore. Still low on time and energy. Tend to be all over the place. Goal is to post art from time to time.

(Late by almost 2 months lol) Day 15 - Mushrooms
I like making backgrounds :)
Hit burn out while the art month was happening but I really liked the sketch for this one, so I decided to finish it up ... eventually.
Day 13 (General System Bus)
Late by a couple of days. At this point I know I won't do all the days so I'll at least focus on a few that interest me. Personal life caught up to me.
Day 12 - New Lizards
May be a few days late but oh well ... Better late than never.
Taking the adopted child out for a stroll. Day 11 Sky islands and Day 24 Slugpup(s)
Day 10 (Gourmand) and 22 (Danglefruit)
Personal Sidenote: After sacrificing a few too many nights working on the art challenge, my health has gone downhill. So with that in mind as well as the fact that I know I'll have days when I'll be unable to work on it, I've decided to start combining prompts for the days I do decide to participate in.
"Oh, welcome back little creature, it's been a while. I hope the cold winds haven't been too harsh on you. … If I could have a moment of your time I'd like to ask a favor. You see from the moment I passed on I became fixed to this location, so I'd love to hear more of your stories of the world beyond my present confinement."
Day 9 - Echoes I decided to write a short dialogue with this one. I can't help see Saint as someone who is stuck in a bizarre loop of ascending and being brought back. With only the echoes being aware of it due to the strange way they themselves experience time.
Day 8 - The Rot
Day 7 - Expedition
Day 6 - Jellyfish Can't help imagine Hunter during Waterfront Period.
Day 5 - Looks to the Moon Region/ City This one left a lot to desired, however I run on limited time and as much as I wish can't spend an entire day on one drawing ;-;
Rain world Art Month Day 3 - Pole Plants
Day 2 - swim(ming) I love over complicating backgrounds.
Here we go again ... Day 1 - Noodle flies
Andd we have a birb. Been busy with projects but today the urge to draw won.
Hi hi!!
I've always been impressed and amazed by your art, the way you use shapes is really communicative and I just love how gogeous it looks
I was wondering if maybe you could share a bit on how you draw ? Because you're genuinely an inspiration for me and I'd love to see the behind the scene if it makes sense
Thank you for posting your art it's always a pleasure to see c:
have a nice day/night and don't forget to drink water!!
I actually made something akin to this a while back but got shy/paranoid about it, so maybe here is an alright time to share at least a part of it :)
The best way I can think of is it that with digital art I dont really think about things in terms of mixing paints but more like a paper doll or paper cut art- some pieces you want to look stuck together and others you want to look glued to the back, but also maybe you reuse the same piece of paper a lot. It's not 100% how I'm going about things, but the mindset is close enough. I like when things look clean and connected or have a sense of flow to them, so a lot of colors will flow into a different part in a line. Everything is very heavy on the layers, which means in any given piece i can probably pull the whole thing apart and change bits and pieces individually. This is what the average WIP looks like:
You'll notice theres a lot of smooth continuous lines and "meeting points" for curves. Even if i drew them at different points, I usually make them lead into each other on purpose. It's not really complicated, but also my methods are the probably extremely weird and nonsensical because something about digital art stops me from being able to process how things should work. It's very different from traditional for me.
Some old art of mine. Nothing special just wanted to put it so it's out there.
Bunch of slugcat sketches
Thanks Andrew!
Colour exercise, the results of which I liked very much.
Small short I made based on in game events in Expeditions.
Monk meets an Echo ...
Also a borb I drew unrelatedly from a while back. Definitely based on a specific reference but I forgor.
Idk car
Messed around with a friend's screen tablet.
I understand well that, in the original ending, the one in the base game without Downpour and without having completed Gourmand, both Monk and Survivor ascend. However, I've come up with a head cannon to justify Monk's mechanic of spawning a Karma flower on death. Even though they are meant to make a new player's playthrough more manageable, they don't make the game easier outside making death less punishable.
According to the Ancients, those flowers have the power to enable one to let go of themselves for a brief moment and contact the selves in other worlds, dreams, memories or imagined worlds. To the Ancients they also became the symbol of enlightenment. As such it is pretty widespread in their architecture. However, we can see it in places where the Ancients could not interfere i.e. Rubicon and on the heads? of the guardians. Also what about it being the symbol Saint sees before waking up, as well as their part of their halo? There is plenty of proof that the meaning they carry is not just symbolic and has weight beyond just being the flower that saves players from losing Karma on death or that the Ancients used to enhance their imagination.
Having all that said, I believe that Monk ascends, while Survivor doesn't. Not just because it's a bit spicy when you think about it.
The symbolism behind the name Survivor implies someone who lives through adversity and hardship. The hardship could be interpreted as you being on most creatures' food list or the rain acting as a timer forcing you to make risky plays. However, the cycle can also be seen as a type of adversity. One that every living creature has to endure. It was the reason for the construction of the Iterators and the big problem they were designed to solve but ultimately were forced to face directly after their creators left.
Monk was a title given to the more religiously involved Ancients. Some of their work involved making preparations for rituals, conducting said rituals and making the masks, worn by everyone. It also happens to be the name of a passage, which requires the player to spend 5 cycles in a roll being vegetarian. This combined with the slugcat's weaker physique and general friendliness draws parallels to Saint. The Wheel flowers' presence and the way they are spawned on death, imply for me that Monk was predestined to ascend from the start due to their symbolic meaning when combined with theirs.
Day 3-4 - Chimney canopy and Fire spear(s) - welp this was a bit late. I burned out a bit before that but didn't want to give up on it. Looking at it now I feel like it's a bit lacking in detail but compared to the last piece I didn't want to make it as visually cluttered. I am happy with the color scheme though.
On a side note I almost messed up the region and started drawing sky islands. Which basically became the main inspiration for the shot.
Day 25-26 - Karma 3 and Create spears - had a deeper idea about tying Spearmaster and the karma 3 sing but gave up cause it felt too busy. Day 29 - Nightcat - after that trailer the only thing I can associate Nightcat aka the Watcher with is the void. Day 30 - Overseers Day 31 - Unfortunate development - was worried about spending too much time on it. End up liking the end result so worth it.
Have one more drawing to finish up in the coming days.
