Siblings of the Void Sea
Five Pebbles and Looks to the Moon but Void Worms, the other Iterators will follow eventually
I'm going to be 100% honest. I don't get afraid very often. I get startled, jumpy, anxious, worried, and many other things, but great fear and dread are not things I often experience. When I first finished Survivor run in rain world, however, I learned of a brand new fear of mine: megalophobia. I really hate ascension in rain world. Not because of the act of swimming down and down and down, no, but the incorporation of void worms. I hate them. They scare me so badly. The idea that in order to finish a run via ascension I have to swim past these beings so large and so fast that there is literally nothing I could do if even just one decided to simply look at me. The fact that they are so large that I am nothing more than a powerless speck of dust before it. The fact that they could easily crush me without even so much as noticing me. The fact that all I can do is pray and hope they don't hurt me. I dislike it so much. It makes me so fearful, so dreadful. It silences me. I really really hate them.
RIPPLES. THE CYCLE. LORE ( I'm theorising, there is watcher spoilers so everything is under the cut )
throughout both the game and even trailers, you are constantly told and reminded about ripples and how you should view cycles as them
so that's what I did!! here's the diagram I made
here you have two cycles, cycles are a bump in a ripple ( forgot the proper name lol) anyway I've yet to figure out how exactly you get moved to the previous cycle, but it probably has something to do with the void spawn, either way, as time moves on and the ripples expand and go forwards new material is pushed into the plane of consciousness, dust falling from the sky, but as this happens, material is pushed down into where the cycle came from as well 'dissolving' it, you see this as the void sea ( note the void sea you see ingame is still in the plane of consciousness, because obviously you can perceive it, you 'leave' once you enter the egg, which is the edge of the cycle )
also ripplespace, it's just the space outside the ripples, although like in the diagram the watcher only sees the area that mixes with the cycle otherwise, they would cease to exist
anyway I came up with this randomly during math class so sorry about inconsistencies in the diagram,
I'll also probably have to think about this more, to fit in pieces like void worms, void spawn and ripple spawn ( already have like paragraphs of theories on them but it doesn't entirely work with this ) and all that stuff
rainworld watcher shitpost and some comments \/
HEAVY SPOILERS BELOW
watcher lore meme bc I cannot cope with how rainworld (as the cycles ) ends
you're telling me EVERYTHING just turns to mush? everything is destroyed because of one iterator?. it would have to be one crazy butterfly effect ig.
idk I'm biased cuz it's pebbles and I'm still processing everything too. but honestly I just want to go back to my cosy au where the rot doesn't happen and sunstone make out sessions and its a happy ending 💔
also don't get me wrong the watcher dlc is great btw
Day 2 - swim(ming) I love over complicating backgrounds.
