The spy chasing me throws a tracking device at my car. The throw is perfectly timed and the small, round device hits the bumper perfectly flush. However, since the tracker is magnetic and my shitty car is plastic, it bounces off
Why do you think Owen didn't give Letty up during Fast and Furious 6? Pride? Friendship? Stubborness? It would have saved him a lot of trouble!
It honestly would have saved him a boat load of trouble!! The stupid boy! đ
But no, it wasn't that simple for Owen
Sure, he could have just told Letty to get out of there and she was out of the crew. Thus making Dom and his crew chase after her and not Owen
But Owen didn't want to let Letty go
Mostly, 1) she wouldn't have listened to him and done what he said. And 2) his ego is too big
He's not about to let one of his best drivers go. Or the one person he's connected to in a long time
Owen even admits it (in the most obnoxious way ever) that he would be sad to see Letty get hurt or killed. He doesn't want to let her go
He thinks the best thing for her is to stay with him. Not the guy who didn't even check if she was actually dead or not
So, I think it was a mix of pride, stubbornness, and loneliness that made Owen keep Letty in his crew and not hand her over to Dom
Owen most likely had a bad read on Dom and assumed he was just some street thug who got lucky in Rio. He saw Dom's bleeding heart and didn't want that to hurt Letty
Especially when Owen knew Dom had moved on with Elena
So, Owen was doing it for selfish reasons. But maybe he was convincing himself it was for Letty's benefit as well
Thanks for the question friend!
Luke: Deckard's in jail!?!?
Owen: Yeah, for something he didn't do!
Hattie: What didn't he do?
Owen: Run fast enoughđ
*flashback*
Deckard: they're catching up!
Owen: it's fine!
Deckard: how?!
Owen: as long as I run faster than you, they won't get me!
Btw, I am fully convinced Owen is the reason his family is in prison 75% of the time

The biggest flaw of Pennyworth R.I.P. is that itâs trying to be a character study without understanding the characters.
Character studies that suck at being character studies massively annoy me, because they can ruin the perception of the characters for lots of people that donât know better, and thatâs pretty much what this is.
Tim wouldnât be happy to get a call to a funeral.
They ignore the disconnect between Jason and the Bat-Family when he still uses guns.
Alfred didnât baby Damian.
And they might as well not have included Ric if he wasnât gonna be Dick.
But Iâd expect no less from James Tynion and Peter Tomasi. It went pretty much how I figured, because they always ignore Jasonâs actual relationship with the Bat-Family, Tynion never understood Tim, and loves melodrama to seem like his work has substance, while Tomasi just babies Damian to pander to people, and forcing sympathy, just to force some likability out of cheap places for him.
This is shown best in this moment:
I just donât feel like Jason Todd would do this. Heâs not a jerk like this. He murders, heâd probably torture, he wanted revenge, but inside his heart is still that of a heroes (ignoring those ooc comics where Jasonâs just a generic villain anyway), he cares about people as people, he should understand rushing in of all people. He isnât a petty pisspants. Jasonâs actually quite calm most of the time. Heâs angry in very specific situations. Yelling at people like this, doesnât feel like Jasonâs style.
This reeks of Tomasiâs typical style of âAww feel bad for Damianâ in general as well as just making characterâs be jerk to Damian randomly to make them look bad for Damianâs sake, and Tynionâs useless melodrama to at least seem like he can write drama, when itâs just cheap and over the top instead.
Damian being the only one there when Alfred died is already a traumatic experience. They didnât have to make Jason out to be this unrepentant ass to show that. It reminds me all to well when Tomasi did the same thing to Tim to make Damian seem more in the right to beat him up. Except this just makes Jason all the more crueler given the context.
â
For some reason as well, Timâs Red Robin when he should be Robin in a flashback.
So did they retcon that away AGAIN?
This is likeâ the, hmm, 1, 2, 3, 4,â 5th time they took Robin away from Tim in some manner.
This is ridiculous at this point.
â
Itâs trying so desperately to be deep, but since no one really acts like themselves, itâs just forced. It canât be actually deep in regards to the characters when the characters donât act like the characters.
This comic follows the trope of remembering the best memory of the one that passed, and it just feels like a parody at some points, because of how ridiculous or forced it gets. That trope is a trope because itâs a natural thing people do, but they just tell these mostly random stories that donât feel right because half of them are out of character anyways.
It is also completely ridiculous how it follows the trope of everyone acting out, because they get so pissed so fast itâs just idiotic. Itâs so rushed, like the writers felt they had to get to these moments and raced to it.
â
I think Damianâs flashback is the worst when it comes to really forcing sentimentality, almost purely because itâs set in the beginning of Damianâs time as Robin with Bruce, and they just have Damian and Alfred act out of character to give them these cutesy moments that would be out of character no matter where in Damianâs character history.
But especially back when Damian was still barely not murdering people all the time.
Like can Tomasi stop ruining Damianâs character? Heâs the most overrated writer Damian ever had, because heâs constantly just using pandering to hide that he isnât that great. Damian is still learning to not be crazy here given the time in the flashback. Why is Tomasi acting otherwise?
Damian isnât a normal kid and thatâs the point.
Whatâs the point of his character growth when they act more and more like he didnât need it? They always do that or have everyone ignore Damianâs actions half the time which makes him avoid proper growth. Itâs tiring.
â
Timâs is idiotic because it focuses on something so random when Tim and Alfred actually had sweet moments quite often. They played video games together,Â
Alfred helped convince Bruce to buy (Timâs then girlfriend) Arianaâs Family business so she could stay in town,
he even looked after Tim when Tim was forced to go to a boarding school by his dad Jack Drake,
Alfred freaking drove Tim around in a van to fight crime when Bruce was away even.
They had lots of sweet moments already seen, but they focus on something so less personal, and more just random.
Continuing some idea Tim isnât that involved with the Bat-Family that much ever, an outcast he was even called once. When he used to be the Bat-Familyâs heart.
â
Jasonâs is the same way with itâs choice of story sort-of. His story is so random, short, and unemotional that I feel like it was just an excuse to have Alfred crash into a building with the Batmobile rather than tell a story with a lot of meaning besides a quick âawâ and âhaâ.
â
Barbaraâs is the best. It doesnât feel too forced, mostly just figuring out where Alfred got the time is the only reason id feel that way, but it actually focuses on a sentiment that feel legitimate, like these characters would actually do this.
It actually feels like a story that she would bring up. Something the previous stories were lacking. This feels like a natural story to tell, and it makes it the best part of the whole comic. Itâs emotional, sweet, and sentimental, in all the right ways.
â
Dickâs doesnât really have a lot to do with Dick, but itâs nice. Not too much to say about it unless I missed something.
â
Most importantly of all Alfredâs death feels meaningless because DCâs habit of shock value takes away any emotion, and it shouldnât have ever happened.
Alfred been a character that everyone recognizes as part of Batman for decades and decades. So loyal and iconic. A character everyone can write, and killed for a story that no one likes, and all he gets is a crappy one-shot that seems like it didnât have the right thoughts put into it.
I wouldâve rather have read an extended version of Barbaraâs flashback, because it had class.
This is contrived mediocrity that tries so hard to convince you it understands the characters and that itâs deep, emotional, with all this substance, but without the tools it needed to make it work.
With such an unneeded death, this was never going to feel emotional or deep, but a lack of understanding of the characters only makes it worse.
Closest they get is Tim trying to step up and help Bruce, but itâs done in that typical Tynion style of âLook at how great Tim isâ, and it just gets soiled cuz it feels pretentious. Timâs a boy doing his best, but he doesnât come off that way the way he gets written here. Itâs a veil of past Tim, but it doesnât have the right heart.
Alfred deserved better.

Tumblrâs primary focus is on FAN content (whether any of us want to admit it or not). Putting these kinds of contents behind patreon like paywalls is a terrible idea and the legality is NOT in the user or their subscribers favor. You can absolutely get in legal trouble for what tumblr is proposing with this new feature. Thereâs also the worry about the siteâs (poor) security and access to Post Plus users bank information. Do you really want a site that lacks a functioning search function and whose userbase routinely get hacked to have your credit card information? No, you really donât.
Maybe, maybe not. Itâs an attempt at doing something to combat tumblrâs impending self-inflicted demise.
Thereâs a time zone checker linked in a previous post if you need it and Iâll try to fix any mistakes to times as I find them. Keep an eye out for future posts closer to the protest date and the eventual phase two! Thank you ALL for your support so far.
Okay maybe I'm grasping at nothing, but hear me out:
We all know Peter has spidey senses. He used them to defeat Mysterio in Far From Home.
But we see Peter struggling with them all throughout the movie:
(Peter not sensing the banana)
(Peter not sensing Nick Fury in the room)
(Peter not sensing everything around him in the pub was an illusion)
(Finally, Peter not being able to decide whether Happy is real or fake)
Now here we wonder, why is that happening?
Take into account the events of Infinity War. When Thanos snapped his fingers, unlike others, Peter could sense his death coming, that's why he fell into Tony's arms saying, âMr Stark I don't feel so goodâ. Imagine such a terrible thing happening to you, feeling the pain everywhere yet not being able to fix it. This could and HAS led to post traumatic stress in Peter. PTSD leads to changes in the body and impotence is one of them. Also the added trauma of his mentor dying? Anyone's mind could've become fucked up after that.
âOkay, so where are you going with this?â you must be thinking.
Well, what if Peter sensed something was unnatural about the water monster (other than the fact it was a monster made up of water, of course) so he shot something at it, just because? But he turned out to be âwrongâ because it went right through the drones. He was right about it, but he didn't know then.
Wrongly sensing something so big like that would have created some serious self doubt in Peter.
That's why he must have discarded every tingle in his skin that sensed the illusions around Mysterio in the pub. That's why he must have ignored the possibility of someone being in his and Ned's room. That's why he asked Happy if he was real when he got off the plane.
It's because he was doubting himself and the very abilities that made him Spiderman.
Peter wasn't dumb. He was right about shooting a web at the water monster.
Omg this is so effin' cuteeee!
Something that finally clicked for me when watching Hadestown live,
Hades gives Orpheus the test that he himself goes through every spring.
This really solidified in my brain when I noticed that Hades gets the red flower and is connected more solidly to the other couple. While I always understood they were mirrors, somehow the trial itself and the significance of what Hades is asking Orpheus to do never really hit me until I watched it.
But I realized that what Hades might be thinking here is, well- you may judge me for losing faith in my wife over the long course of our relationship, missing her for months at a time with few others to talk to or support me. Let's see if this romantic, bleeding heart can do that, can feel the absence of his love and his community and still keep trusting her, himself, and the system.
And he can't- one of the major themes of Hadestown is that working together and building community rather than isolating yourself and hoarding wealth is better for the heart, mind, and soul. So taking away the walls and shades and Eurydice who were supporting Orpheus leads to him doubting himself and those people and ultimately looking back.
