You recently alluded many times to a possible coming out of this A+ list singer, who is dating a foreign born, C lister. does she really intend to come out? I know she’s always been extremely supportive of the LGBTQ community- and even more so in the recent years, but I can’t really see any coming out happening- not before many more years... You know, if you had asked me a year ago I would probably agree with you and say not [coming out] for many more years. I would agree with you, but I think in the last year or so, things have changed. taylor has officially gone in the closet, probably for good. it's sad but it's true. it's why we've all chilled out and gone quiet. PLEASE accept this. she isn't coming out. she doesn't want to anymore, at least not right now.

Taylor and Joe aren't real and have never been real and they haven't become real over time (although I do get wanting her to be happy). ok sure I can't know that. but I think if she IS in a relationship with Joe and she wrote those songs, it's a toxic BAD one we should NOT be celebrating (obviously I don't think this, he seems like a really nice person, pls don't misconstrue this). I don't care that she's involving him in her music, or how long it's been, or that she says his name now. They broke up in the summer of 2019 for good. they probably broke up before that too, maybe even several times (but no they DIDNT break up for good in 2016 and dm me if you want an explanation lol). They had a very turbulent relationship. it's easy to idolize their relationship bc her music is just so good -- but we have to remember that taylor is looking through rose colored glasses. we are only hearing the folklore of their relationship. just because her songs about karlie are masterpieces doesn't mean they're soulmates. maybe they were bad for each other. I do think her new music kinda shows she is slowly seeing that, which I am so proud of her for. although it does seem like the baby really set her back but that's another sad conversation

the old gaylors are still around, giving her space to get over losing who she thought was her HOME and her FOREVER. that's, just, the kind of sadness you may never get over.

WE are also sad. of course it doesn't compare but many of us found solace through the picture of their relationship she painted through her songs. it was, it IS beautiful. they had something really special. we are mourning that for and with taylor. folkevermore is TRAGIC.

just because it's what's on your dash doesn't mean that all the gaylors are either desperately trying to convince themselves taylor is a new dad or trying to convince themselves she is happily in love with Joe 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

okay friends - I’ve been putting off making this post since evermore came out, but i think the time has come. I think, that in the same way we’ve gotten kaylor clues for years, we’ve now also gotten clues about their break up. I don’t think this means that they’re over forever, necessarily, but it does seem like things aren’t good right now and their dynamic has changed significantly.

1 - unlike lover and folklore we did not get a teaser from karlie for evermore. For the Lover announcement we got a Karlie count down that you can see here. Then, Karlie’s last post before the Lover release looked suspiciously like the album cover:

it was even MORE obvious with folklore - where she posts a video of her dancing in the woods in a cardigan 13 days before the folklore release (remember - literally no one knows this album is going to drop!!!)

AND karlie posted this other tribute to the album the day that it was released.

However, when evermore was released we didn’t get any indication or tribute from Karlie. She was in the midst of her Adidas drop and all of her posts were promo for that.

2 - Taytaysbeard (the ultimate kaylor blog) was deleted. This comes as a HUGE red flag to me. Yes, there were haters, who likely were reporting ttb and being ridiculous - but the haters were always there. it was a big red flag to me that ttb got shutdown two days before evermore came out because a) there had never been a problem before that - why bother shutting it down now? what changed?and b) I think that the album evermore was so obviously queer that their teams knew if people could go on the internet and find such a large, informative resource that it would out both of them, so they needed to erase it.

3 - Almost all of the songs on evermore are about divorce or not being with the person you love. We’ve always said the the truth is in the music - and this is a very very sad break-up album. It’s been so easy to do analysis because I feel like what shes trying to say is so clear. The only song that is not explicitly about a divorce/break-up is long story short, but even that is about a whole bunch of break-ups until the post-chorus and bridge.

4 - this one kills me. I will be doing full analysis on both these songs later - but the album name in and of itself is letting us know that it is the end of the road with karlie. taylor has used the word evermore once before in a song - in New Years day. this song is a clear kaylor song - reference to the polaroids, talking about the pages of a love story like in Cornelia street, and the general concept of being there even when they’re being normal people, not celebs. 

In NYD she says “Candle wax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor/You and me forevermore” - yet this could be re-read as “you and me for evermore”. This is so devastating, because in the first reading (the original intention), Taylor is saying that her and karlie will be together forever. however, in the second reading, Taylor is saying that her and karlie were together until the album evermore came out. this is so sad and beautiful and genius!

A PR professional just explained to me why they believe Taylor Swift is queer

They're not particularly a fan or a hater. Because of their job, they state that they're probably more exposed to Taylor's PR flow and the details of it than the average GP person, but less than the fans that consume it and go seek it out.

Here's what they think, from a "cool, detached, professional slash transactional standpoint" (quote):

Taylor Swift™ (the brand, which means Taylor and team. Whoever establishes the communication strategies and help build it in concrete visual coding, statements and appearances, etc) is very good at PR. "people that like or dislike the brand agree on that. Hell, that's the main reason many point out for their dislike. So good it's annoying. So much polished *genuine* that it feels fake".

She's been loud in supporting her causes in the past years. Feminism, acceptance of differences, fighting xenophobia, and loudest of them all, especially lately, her support of the lgbt+ community.

"The difference in the way she's doing it is fundamental." She's been placing herself amongst the queer community as she celebrates it. Repeatedly.

"In PR, there is one thing you can't get away with anymore. It's the I've Got This *** Friend strategy." You can't make yourself look cool and supportive of BLM just by hanging out with a dark skinned person and get ally cred. You will get torn down by backlash. You have to back it up with actions, and you have to shut up about it, so that it doesn't look like you're being supportive of something to get credit for it, that you're doing something good because your interest is how it will be a good reflection on your brand.

"Queer baiting might be a strategy to try to pull audience members and try to save a show, but considering the backlash that ensues, I wouldn't recommend it these days."

So their conclusion is this: Taylor knows much much better than that.

Yet she's being super super loud.

She's putting herself in the middle of it. "She's literally painting herself in it and with it." (in it, the videos, with it, the rainbow dresses and the hair colors)

"She's too smart to make a mistake like making herself the straight ally of the decade. Not this way where she IS being accused of baiting. So I must conclude that... She isn't. She's not baiting. She's messaging. And the message seems pretty darn clear to me."

So this is what they've said. The parts in italics are direct quotes they've allowed me to share and the rest is context and paraphrasing. I won't share more because they asked me not to. They would like to add this: "I'm straight. I'm what we're supposed to call middle aged. I don't particularly have an interest or investment on whether Taylor is or isn't queer, on whether she does or does not state it out loud. But working in a world where we spin stories, there are some that we don't like. The ones that cover up a closet rarely end well and always masquerade for someone's misery. Or some ones', plural. I can't deny how big an impact a coming out like hers would have if it's well handled. So. While I don't wish for her to go one way or another, I will be cheering loudly for her if she comes out. From a logical standpoint, I believe she's en route. From a more human one, hell yeah, my Spidey senses are tingling." (pause for giggles and discussion on whether Spidey senses should fall under strictly Human categorizing) "In any case, this little discussion dive into the Swift Tumblr PR Analysis Squad has been hilarious and inspiring.
