This sabbat is held on October 31st.

This celebration is to honour the  dead, and for speaking to people who have passed over. Divination is heightened  on this night.

The veil between the worlds on this night is at is weakest, which is  why it is held in honour of the dead, or some say ancestors.

Now is the best time to speak to the dead. The first half of the year is about the outer world and the second half is about the spiritual realm.

✨basil (enhances creativity and luck; dispels fear and confusion; and attracts wealth)

✨cinnamon (enhances creativity, luck, and success)

✨osmanthus (increases self-confidence)

✨rosemary (for clear thinking)

Honey Lavender Bread

½ cup Greek yoghurt ½ cup plain flour 1tsp baking powder ¼ tsp salt 1 tbsp dried lavender 1 tbsp honey 1 egg, beaten

The intent is to increase mental clarity and connection. To clear your spiritual and mental brain fog so that you can think and see more clearly again. To improve clarity of vision and connection to your heart’s desire. Lavender is employed to stimulate clarity and connection, cleansing, memory, passion, peace of mind, healing, love, passion and retention. With the honey for added sweetness and stickiness to make visions all the more sweet, and memories stick more permanently. Harvesting your own lavender can also be intended to honour Lammas, too!

1. Mix everything in a bowl and preheat the oven at 350 F. 2. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead adding more flour until it’s no longer sticky and has formed a nice stretchy bread dough. 3. Put into a floured loaf tin. 4. Brush top with egg wash. 5. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until a golden crust has formed and a skewer comes out clean. 6. Slice and enjoy!

My first ever spell jar!

A Basic Home Protection jar

In order from top to bottom:

Crushed Egg Shells- to protect and allow growth within

Salt- to absorb negative energy

Black Pepper- to protect and banish negativity

Garlic Powder- to protect and strengthen

Basil- to protect and keep peace

Crushed Egg Shells- to protect and allow growth within

Each ingredient is given intent before added to the jar, and then sealed off with a white candle to exorcise negativity, and to promote peace and protection. I did the wax sealing by lighting a long candle, and letting it drip wax onto the lid (I had the jar sitting on a paper plate to avoid a mess), and then I let it sit until the wax cooled. 

I wanted my first spell jar to be something to protect my home and those that I love within, and after researching I found that the basic protection based ingredients could be found within my kitchen cabinet! 

*Side note: The crushed egg shells can be added to a garden or potted plant as a natural fertilizer to help promote growth!
