The devastating difference between how much time it takes to write something vs how fast people read it lol
"the over romanticization of death eaters has made the harry potter/marauders universe lose its charm," i say into the mic.
the crowd boos. i begin to walk off in shame, when multiple voices speak and command silence from the room.
"she's right," they say. i look for the owners of the voices. there in the 5th row stands: literally every character who is inherently good but overlooked by the fandom.
something about the only two widely hc-ed black women in marauders era (mary and dorcas) being the sexiest hottest eye-candied women in hogwarts (casanovas of gryffindor and slytherin respectively) & desi james potter being accused of "taking regulus' innocence" who is just generally infantilized and shown to be pure & remus being a minority who is portrayed to be aggressive and harmful and downright violent living up to that and being overbearingly dominant and borderline abusive to his white smaller, emotionally vulnerable partner who won't leave them & evan being the only marauders era man hc-ed as black (though occasionally) being constantly shown as violent and creepy and um . i cant talk about anyone else because there's no one else to talk about ,, but like . something about them
on repeat 🎶

i've spent the last couple of days feeling truly sickened and hopeless, and i haven't yet figured out what it all means for my place in fandom. it has felt like there hasn't been anything i could add to the conversations taking place as someone with almost no platform, and at a time when voices far more eloquent and important than mine were already having an impact.
however, more than ever the events of the last few days have shown me how important it is to speak up, even in my tiny corner of the world, even if it's clumsy, even if I cannot see the visible impact. this should not - and cannot - be the burden for trans people to speak about alone, and i am ashamed it took me so long to say something.
trans women are women and trans rights are human rights and the world is a better place with you in it.
if you are reading this and you are trans: i love you. i love you and your life is precious and you deserve the entire world. you are a miracle. please know my inbox is always open if you ever need a place to just be Heard. i love you 🫂🫂🫂
this list is as much for me as for anyone - when i feel overwhelmed and helpless like this, it helps to know what steps i can take to make it slightly more manageable. i hope it helps 🤍
Mermaids: 0808 801 0400 or webchat (open mon-fri 1pm-8:30pm), supporting trans people under 20 and their loved ones. also runs local support groups!

A list of trans-friendly therapists/counsellors (accredited by GI)
LGBT Switchboard: 0800 0119 100 or webchat
AKT: supporting LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25 experiencing homelessness
if you have the funds to do so, donate to support any of the charities linked above. donate to a trans person's gender affirming (life-saving) care.
reach out to your trans loved ones and make sure they know how loved, precious and vital their lives are, how tight you are holding them, and how hard you are going to fight for them.
follow TransActual's steps for taking action.
write to your local MP.
attend the emergency demonstration at Parliament Square (London) on Saturday 19th April, 1pm.
leave a message of love and solidarity on the TransPride wall of hope.
i am a therapist irl and i cannot recommend Gendered Intelligence's training on Working with Trans clients enough if you are also in this field!
do not look away. listen and engage and stay educated. be vocal about the harm jkr has done/is doing, have those conversations with others if you can, both irl and online, and do not leave the labour of this task to those most impacted by its harm.
dearest heart messrsrobyn (on tiktok) has put together some truly incredible resources on ethical fandom engagement, including his podcast.
idk how much longer i will be in this space, but however long it ends up being, i intend to be loud about this. trans folks are too important not to be.

what i love most about wolfstar is how absolutely gone they both are for each other—and neither of them realizes it. like, sirius looks at the world through a keyhole shaped like remus. he thinks remus is the most beautiful, the funniest, the smartest person on the planet, and he’s convinced that only he truly understands remus’ nature. to him, remus is distant, a little too reserved sometimes, and he has no idea that remus walks around every day with an arrow through his heart, staring at sirius and giggling into his pillow at night.
and remus? he looks at the world through a keyhole shaped like sirius. to him, sirius is this celestial being with an overwhelming, magnetic spirit that’s impossible to resist. he thinks sirius is too nonchalant, too effortlessly charming with everyone—not knowing that sirius, if you looked closely, literally has heart eyes and is trying every single day to impress remus and keep his attention
i mean. they’re both head over heels. they don’t care about anything else. and they’re both stupidly convinced it would take some kind of divine miracle for the other to notice them (all of their friends are banging their heads against the wall because these two idiots clearly only have eyes for each other but are also blind as bats).
remus does not now how to exist in groups (before the marauders at least) and ends up following them across the whole school even though he was supposed to turn 10 minutes ago but he didn’t know how to interrupt them to say bye and he didn’t want to just disappear in fear of coming across as rude so he stayed silent and kept following
y’all ever read a fanfic that you cannot believe an author just wrote for free?? what an honor it is to read a piece of someone’s soul they shared out of nothing but love for a piece of media. what a privilege it is to be allowed their talent because you share an interest!!
reblog if people r allowed to send u asks as if theyre ur friend. wanna tell me how ur day went? do it!!! ask me for advice? sure! ask a personal question? go right on ahead!
also, while we’re talking about PoA -
I always forget how subtextually gay Lupin seems in the text
I think Wolfstar is so established now (and it’s so firmly a Marauders-era-centered ship now) that a lot of people don’t engage very much with the canon. but I’d ship these two if all I ever got was PoA, because Lupin behaves like he’s being interrogated by the police every time Sirius comes up in casual conversation and it’s hilarious
