Hello everyone and welcome all to prompting for HP Ace Aro Fest, or HPAAF for short, for 2025!!
Prompting will be ongoing from now through Aromantic Visibility Day which is June 5th.
What they don't tell you about writing is that as you write, you discover scenes and entire plots that you hadn't accounted for that need to be written. So you can spend two hours writing and editing only to realise you're further away from the finish line than you thought you were when you started
"I write for my own enjoyment"
And
"I'm happy when people interact with my writing"
Are two sentences that can coexist!
s. o. b.
im a sucker for those eyes omg
anyway i did spend more time downloading the image than drawing it lmao
sketch & more versions under the cut!
yâall ever read a fanfic that you cannot believe an author just wrote for free?? what an honor it is to read a piece of someoneâs soul they shared out of nothing but love for a piece of media. what a privilege it is to be allowed their talent because you share an interest!!
reblog if people r allowed to send u asks as if theyre ur friend. wanna tell me how ur day went? do it!!! ask me for advice? sure! ask a personal question? go right on ahead!
a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on
I know not everyone does, but I love angry Remus. Specifically young angry Remus to old tired Remus. Remus Lupin has a lot of things to be angry about and every right to be. Because of who he is and they way world treats him because of it (e.i, werewolf, queer, scars, disabilities, etc). He gets older, his reflexes slow down, his bones ache, it's hard to breath, but he never stops being angry but the tiredness is overwhelming. Life is short and maybe he just wants to enjoy what he has after losing so much.
orchid and sage pretty pls nini <3
hi rae!!
orchid: whatâs a song you consider to be perfect?
ooh this is a good question. iâm 100% that person whose taste in music changes constantly so if you asked me this in a few months the answer would likely be different! and i also am sooo bad at picking favorites for literally anything and this feels adjacent to picking a favorite đ but im tentatively saying one of these twoâŚ
sage: what âmediumâ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?
okay i think i have to say fiction/books for this one because it is one of the rare art forms that actually makes me feel things? i deeply enjoy many other forms of art but writing is one of the few that actually makes me feel the emotions the artist is trying to convey. i absorb the emotions so easily from writing, and i truly do not know why!
ask game here!
Got inspired and wrote a little something for @wolfstarmicrofic! CW: (mild) internalized acephobia
11:52pm
Remus is panicking, just a bit.Â
Maybe more than a bit.
Heâs been dating Sirius for eight months, a relationship record for Remus. Embarrassingly long-held feelings for Sirius aside, Remus has never met anyone who was okay with the lack of kissing and sex that dating him entailed. Sirius has been nothing but accepting and even loving; he says heâs fine with not having sex, not kissing on the mouth, even with Remus not sleeping in the same bed some nights.
But Remus canât stop thinking about New Yearâs traditions, and expectations.
The whole kissing thing is justâŚgross. He canât. He wonât. And a corner of his brain is adamant that Sirius wouldnât want him to if he didnât want to anyways.
11:56pm
James and Sirius rush in from the kitchen, balancing glasses of champagne. James joins Lily and Peter on the floor while Sirius nestles into Remusâs side on the couch, nudging their glasses into his hands. He wraps Remus up in his warm, strong arms and Remus relaxes, feeling the anxiety brewing in his chest lose a bit of its fizz.
âHi, my Moony. Whatâs going on in that silly head of yours?â
Remus sighs. âI just, justâyou know I canât kiss you at midnight right? I canât, itâsâŚicky and it makes me feel bad and itâs not fair for you to miss out because of me, youâre supposed to kiss the person you want to spend the year with and I canâtââ
Sirius squeezes him tighter, rocks him just a little. âShh, baby. Itâs okay.â His mouth is right by Remusâs ear, voice hardly above a whisper. âYouâre being silly. I donât need a kiss, I just need the year with you.â
Remus tips his head back to look at Sirius. âPromise?â
Sirius smiles at him fondly. âPromise.â
11:59pm
âGuys! Itâs 11:59!â shouts Lily. Everyone leaps up and piles onto the couch, Sirius squishing even closer to Remus to make room for all five of them. Lily ends up on Jamesâs lap.
When the countdown begins, they scream along, and when the clock turns to midnight they all cheer. Sirius leans in and presses his cheek against Remusâs with a satisfied sigh. âHappy New Year, Moons.â
Warmth creeps into his cheeks, and Remus is sure Sirius can feel it. They stay there until Remus has gathered the courage to turn to his boyfriend and gently kiss the top of his head. âHappy New Year, Pads.â Sirius looks up at him with a sleepy smile on his face, and Remus smiles back.
Hello! Welcome to the No More Zero Comments Project! This is a blog dedicated to reducing the amount of fics on ao3 that have no comments at all.
The goal is simple: find fics with no comments, read them, and leave a comment for the author. However, I (this blogs creator) am not in every fandom to ever exist on ao3 so this is not a task I can do alone. That's where you come in!
There are two ways you can do this. One is to go out and find fics with zero comments in your fandoms, and leave a comment. The other is to take a look at the spreadsheet i made with a list of fics i found with no comments and see if there's any fandoms you know. If I did my job right, you should be able to filter it? Who knows, I suck at technology. This spreadsheet will be updated regularly by adding new fics (and removing ones that have now received comments) so there will always be new stuff to see!
So far, the spreadsheet contains mostly fics from @febuwhump collections, as their commentfest is where i got this idea. If you want to submit one of your own zero comment fics for the spreadsheet, you can do so here.
If you read a fic from the spreadsheet and leave a comment on it (or have received a comment on your own fic that is on the spreadsheet), you can let me know here so I can remove it from the spreadsheet (you do not have to do this, I will try to check regularly to see if fics have received comments, but doing it this way will be a HUGE help to me)!
Some preemptive answers to potential FAQs under the cut!
That'd be me, Izak, also known as @lightningzombie! Hi!
Look. I'm not doing this for no reason. Around 14% of my own fics have no comments. In the interest of fairness, I'll only be adding one of my own fics to the spreadsheet at a time. This limit only applies to me as the owner of this blog. Everyone else can have as many as they like on there lol
Nope! It's just a handy tool for if you're looking for something to read, and want to help out an author in need of their first comment. You can go find zero comment fics wherever you usually get fics from
Nope! This is just an effort to increase fandom engagement since it fell off post-COVID. You don't have to report to me about it, you just gotta do it!
Frustration with the lack of comments on my fics and the death of comment culture in general. Bewilderment when I saw a fic that had 1200 kudos and no comments. The joy that leaving 100 comments and receiving 20+ during the Febuwhump commentfest brought me. Boredom. Many reasons!
Maybe! If there's enough interest we could do events similar to justleaveacommentfest.
I mean, yeah, of course. But like, if you're going to the trouble of submitting someone else's fic, why not just leave a comment on it?
(edit: if you want to add a bunch of stuff from your fandoms that you don't have time to read/have tags you can't read then go for it!)
Yes, you do. "I like this" is a comment. "How dare you do that to [insert blorbo here]" is a comment. "<3" is a comment. "KAJSDAKSDHJ WHYYYYY????" is a comment. "I am rapidly approaching your location" is a comment. Just be kind!
For now, no. Ao3 is the platform I've used for a decade and the one I understand. However if you comment on fics that aren't on ao3, that's great! The spirit of the project is so give love to authors so do that on whatever platform you see fit
Happy commenting!
