thinking about how in ancient times, at least people knew that the lives their children would lead would….vaguely resemble their own???
People have always fondly reminisced about The Good Old Days and complained about Kids These Days, of course. But—and I cannot stress this enough—when my mom was born the Internet did not exist.
ADHD: *puts off doing small but necessary tasks for weeks on end because they just seem too haaaaaaard*
also ADHD: *drops everything and spends 14 hours straight doing 150% of an unnecessary and highly-involved task that no one asked for without taking a single break to eat or pee*

Some of that (like possibly the glasses thing) will be gov subsidies. That said the point 100% still stands and I'm absolutely doing my part
Nothing pisses me off so much like the price of goods being arbitrary. Like capitalism cant even be assed to hide how much of a farce it is. My prescription glasses cost the same as a bag of bagels. An 8 hr flight to california costs less than an hour flight to newark. Steal everything you can it means fuck all 👍
i saw some comments on tiktok where people were talking bout how they found tumblr too hard to use and part of it being that there was no lack of dates so “what if you reblog or like something from five years ago?!”
buddy… we have posts circulating still from 2011, its literally just how it is

People, especially games, get eldritch madness wrong a lot and it’s really such a shame.
An ant doesn’t start babbling when they see a circuit board. They find it strange, to them it is a landscape of strange angles and humming monoliths. They may be scared, but that is not madness.
Madness comes when the ant, for a moment, can see as a human does.
It understands those markings are words, symbols with meaning, like a pheromone but infinitely more complex. It can travel unimaginable distances, to lands unlike anything it has seen before. It knows of mirth, embarrassment, love, concepts unimaginable before this moment, and then…
It’s an ant again.
Echoes of things it cannot comprehend swirl around its mind. It cannot make use of this knowledge, but it still remembers. How is it supposed to return to its life? The more the ant saw the harder it is for it to forget. It needs to see it again, understand again. It will do anything to show others, to show itself, nothing else in this tiny world matters.
This is madness.
