Someone was saying that the whole triangle scene was the writers showing Frank as a third wheel in Karedevil, but I completely disagree. There is a huge difference between that scene and the one in which Karen and Frank are talking:

When Karen and Matt are talking, Frank is the focus and the topic, HE is the elephant in the room.

When Karen and Frank are talking they are the ONLY ones in the room. Matt is...just there. On the side... not even on the same frame. He is the third wheel not Frank.

The two very different framings speak for themselves:

Matt and Karen become more and more out of focus and then you can't even see them. And they don't talk about anything else other than....*cough* frank *cough*

And here Matt is all alone and looking uncomfortable hahaha. Not even on center frame. He is not in their world. Frank is the one that lets him in after excruciating silence and Karen's rejection of the coffee. And only does it to break the tension.

also. the u want a cup? no thank u scene??? deb played this soooooooo. the way u can physically see karen put the walls back up. she's been here before. and he walked away from it and it almost killed her and she can't do it again. and frank is falling all over himself like karen!!!! I did this for u just for u because u ask karen because it was u!!!!! remember the diner karen remember holding on with two hands and never letting go!!!!!!!!!! karen!!!!!!!! what if we were sooo in love and soooo bad at communication <3

frank castle’s heart canonically races when he sees karen page. that is something that i am now CANONICALLY aware of and i’m just going to have to go on with my day with that information rattling in my skull like it’s nothing.

I really did not think we were going to win like this lmao. If JB is in s2 of born again we basically have kastle in the bag.

what i would like out of the "triangle" is frank to start internally pushing back on the matt/good me/bad dichotomy he's been clinging to these past 6 years. conscious of it or not he uses matt as a bumper between him and karen when he thinks karen is getting too close ("almost took the shot/may i ask why you didn't?/you never lie to me/does he?") or in the hospital she tells him she'll love him despite the corpses that keep piling up around him ("maria knew what i was and she loved me anyway.") and her overtures get shut down with a ("does that matt murdock know you're here?")

except 6 years later and just the sight of karen and matt in proximity together is stirring up his jealousy. i think he could rationalize it at first but the softer, loving side of frank that is dying at being shoved down and forced to live in a murder bunker is going to start reminding him of all the grace and acceptance karen has offered and maybe? hopefully? start to see himself from her perspective.

SHE HAS HIS PHONE NUMBER SHE CALLLED HIM SHE PICKED UP HER PHONE AND PHONE CALLED HIM ON THE TELEPHONE TO ASK HIM TO HELP AND HE DID IT HE SAID OKAY ON THE PHONE THE TELEPHONE BECAUSE THEY HAVE TELEPHONES AND SHE ASKED HIM AND THEY KNOW EACH OTHERS TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND THEY USE THEIR PHONES TO HAVE PHONE CALL CONVERSATIONS
