How To Get Away With Murder Snippet

The coppery scent of blood filled her senses, choking her with its sharp, metallic bitterness. The grass beneath her was stained with fresh blood, dark and glistening under the dim lamplight. Every breath she took seemed to draw more of that metallic bitterness into her lungs, making it impossible to escape the reality of what had occurred.

Murder.

The air hummed around Eloise as she shakily reached for her phone, her bloody fingers staining the case red.

There was only one person she wanted to call.

“I need your help,” she said, the words paining her to say.

“Like, with homework?”

Eloise glanced down at the body of George Morrison, a cold chill running down her spine. “Sure. Homework.”

I made a breakthrough with my research! I won't get into the details since it's confidential, but I'm working on mathematics + computer science research and it's all very fun. 😋

Rediscovering my hobbies! I've been reading more recently (I recently read The Rose Code by Kate Quinn and I'm currently reading White Nights by Fyoder Dostoevsky). I've also always wanted to write fanfiction but never found the time or energy, so I'm really happy that's something I can do now!

I have the best friends a girl can ask for! I also have some great mutuals <3

This scene occurs the morning after Anthony's "failed nuptials"...and also the morning after Eloise confessed her feelings to Theo and he set aside books for her to "share her thoughts on". I can't help but wonder if the book she's reading here is one of the books he set aside for her?

This scene follows immediately after, and it's obvious she's on her way to meet Theo (my girl's practically skipping lol). Perhaps she wanted to meet Theo and "share her thoughts" on the book she was reading? The book that he gave her?
