In the years following the war, Harry Potter did everything he was supposed to do. He married the girl, he got the job at the ministry. Harry Potter was doing everything right.

Then one day, Ginny Weasley had decided she had enough. They had been growing apart for months, if not years. Harry had walked into the house, his bags packed and waiting for him. This was it. This was the end. So Harry nodded and walked out of the house, belongings with him. He knew it was coming. But he was still hurt.

He'd decided, then, to take up the post as Defence Against the Darks Arts professor at Hogwarts. It was there that he met Draco Malfoy once more, working as the healer in the hospital wing. It was then a spark ignited. Malfoy and Potter had began a relationship - secret from the students, of course. They had fallen madly in love with each other, knowing then that this was meant for them all along. They were drawn to each other right from the start of their first year at school. Two sides of the same coin.

Then one day Ginny appeared at Hogwarts. She had taken up a temporary post to teach flying and referee Quidditch. Conflicted, Harry resumed the marriage with Ginny, as though it had never stopped.

"She's my wife, Draco. I have a duty to her." He said, kissing Draco's head for the final time before walking away to his quarters.

Draco was furious. His heart was broken and the cruel walls that he once had were built back, brick by rotten brick. He avoided Potter and Weasley for weeks. He couldn't stomach the sight of it. Draco appeared to be apathetic to their rekindled marriage to the naked eye. Everyone supporting him through it, despite his protestations that he was fine.

Then one day he snapped. He could see that Harry wasn't in love with Ginny. He knew Harry wasn't happy with her and Draco certainly wasn't happy without Harry.

The blonde cornered his former flame in the DADA office, locking the door behind him. This talk was going to be uncomfortable, but he knew he had to get it off his chest.

Draco took in a deep breath, his eyes bloodshot and rimmed with tears. He was setting himself up for hurt and he knew it. "You've not to say a word, Potter. Let me speak." He said, his voice cracking with emotion.

He paused for a moment, thinking of exactly what to say. When he was ready, he took a shaky breath and stared at the man he once held in his arms at night.

"I lied," he began. "I'm not out of this relationship. I'm in. I'm so in, it's humiliating because here I am begging." His voice was shaking and tears were dripping down his cheeks. But he wasn't going to stop. Draco Malfoy had a loose monologue prepared and Potter had to hear it.

"Your choice, it's simple: her or me. And I'm sure she's really great... But Harry, I love you. In a really big pretend to like your music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a wireless over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you." Draco sighed shakily, fighting every instinct to go and take Harry in his arms, to cup his cheek and give him the love he deserves. That they both deserve.

"So pick me. Choose me. Love me." Draco pleaded, determined to win his lover back. It was pathetic, really. But Potter must know how he felt. He couldn't take it any longer.

Harry stood, dumbstruck, staring at Draco. In that moment he was as conflicted as ever. For once in his life, The Boy Who Lived, wasn't sure if he should do what was expected of him. He wanted to hold Draco and love Draco.

And so they stood there, staring at each other in silence.

What should they do?

for people who are unaware of why the riots in minneapolis started happening, here’s the facts:

it wasn’t george floyd’s protesters who started reacting violently; it was the cops.

the protest was peaceful until the cops showed up in riot gear, and started using water cannons, followed up by tear gas and rubber bullets. i got videos from friends who were there, of people screaming and running away from the cops shooting the water cannons, rubber bullets and throwing tear gas at them. they were even shooting at the protesters dragging people away to get medical attention.

speaking of medical attention, dispatch refused to provide any medical attention to the protesters. people literally had to drive their bleeding friends to the hospital because they refused to send ambulances.

cops are using non-lethal weapons in a lethal way. they shot rubber bullets into people’s heads and injured them. there’s dozens of photos of protesters with bleeding head wounds from the rubber bullets.

multiple people used police scanners and heard that there were undercover cops pretending to be violent protesters who were throwing rocks and whatnot at the police, with dozens of eyewitness accounts confirming that information.

the person who instigated all the chaos last night (it was a fire at an autozone) with the looting and burning buildings is highly suspected to be an undercover cop pretending to be a protester, because the video of him keeps getting taken down. protesters tried to stop him but couldn’t because he had a hammer and they were scared for their safety.

the cops jammed cell phone towers and cut live streams to interrupt broadcasts and to prevent people from seeing what was really going on and who actually started the violence.

the cops lied about protesters being armed and about throwing rocks and are literally trying to continue the violence happening and yet no one is holding them accountable for that.

and during all this, the cop that murdered george floyd still hasn’t been arrested. he has had more than ten complaints filed against him and was involved in three other civilian shootings in the past. and yet he’s still out free along with his three other buddies involved, probably sitting on his couch while all this chaos is happening.

so don’t get it twisted. the cops just want to change the narrative to make it look like they’re the wounded and righteous party, when they’re the ones who started reacting violently in the first place and are still acting violently. so don’t you ever forget who started this tragedy and murdered someone, and who are continuing to react to the situation with violence.

"what?" she says, letting out a small laugh and awkwardly scratching the back of her neck.

"said you're pretty," you repeat with a roll of your eyes- a smile tugging on your lips at how flushed her cheeks are getting.

"well," she starts. "don't think you could really call me that,"

the only source of light in your door room is the lamp on your desk at the far end of the room alongside the string lights on the wall beside your bed, you having had turned off all the lights earlier to make it more cozy (romantic). you're sat cross legged right across of her, your knees almost pressed against hers, mascara wand still in your hand.

"you are," you insist, reinserting the wand into the container and setting it aside on the bed.

"don't feel like it," she mumbles.

"if you wanted me to make you feel pretty, you could just ask,"

"w-what? no, i didn't say that! where did you even get that from?" she sputters, with yet another laugh.

"your mind's in the gutter," you say, lightly scrunching up your eyebows before you reach forwards and push a strand of hair that had fallen out of her bun behind her ear. "but we could do that too, if you want,"

"what?"

"what?" you ask.

"i- okay, nevermind. can we get this shit off? it's itchy,"

she immediately rubs at her eyes, which makes you immediately reach out and yank her hand away, but it's too late. you throw your head back with a groan, pressing your thumb against your tongue before using it to wipe at the smear. ellie completely freezes up, her eyes flickering back and forth from your face to the hand you’ve got on her hers.

"don't," you say, finally pulling away. "i like it when you look like this,"

"so you don't like how i look like when i'm not wearing makeup?" she asks, as a pathetic attempt of a joke.

"didn't say that," you roll your eyes again. "it's just mascara, dude. doesn't fucking change your face,"

ellie doesn't know what to say, just lets out a breathy laugh.

"but seriously. you're pretty, els,"

you're suddenly leaning into her and she thinks you're actually about to kiss her when you use your thumb to swipe an eyelash off her cheek bone. you know exactly what you're doing and ellie- she's a mess, her cheeks flushed so deeply it's difficult for you to pretend not to notice.

"i need to go pee," she says, suddenly standing up and walking out of your dorm room without even bothering to put any shoes on.

you can't help but grin.

in the bathroom, she's rubbing at her face desperately with wet hands, trying to get the blood flow away from her cheeks. she stares at the mirror all soaked, with bits of her hair stuck to her face- you didn't notice, right? who was she kidding? who wouldn't have noticed?

"fuck," she curses to herself, under her breath. "such a fucking loser,"
