No, but this have made me question deeply my career choice for the close future.

Even if I already love Marketing and Graphic Design; NOW I'm worried about this not being, what I should do for a living...

And even if my country don't care about such things and completely despite directors, this almost describes me perfectly and this shocked me to the core

the film students

shushing your friends in the theater before the movie begins

analyzing the use of lighting and camera angles to portray emotion

the bustle of a set during filming

wanting to create media that people can relate to

working closely of actors and screenwriters

feeling at home surrounded by cameras and microphones

the release of breath after the movie ends and the credits slowly start to roll

knowing all the words to cult classics

the smell of freshly popped popcorn 

learning the history of cinema, from silent films to modern CGI

enjoying both well-known classic films and the silly movies you adored as a kid

imagining how you would retell a story if you were the director

eagerly awaiting the release of a new movie 

walking through busy hollywood streets

supposedly “bad” movies that you love anyway

debating the presence of subtext 

envisioning scenes in your mind of the stories you want to tell

movie scores playing through your headphones 

developing new interpretations of films that have been analyzed a thousand times

studying the cultural context of famous movies

picking apart a script and the ways it could be brought alive on screen

holding a movie marathon with your best friends

forever that person that gets really excited when the sky is in pretty colours

some people were asking for actual advice and i can never pass up an opportunity to procrastinate so here’s just a couple of things i always need to remind myself of…now back to my paper :(

The tragedy of Anakin Skywalker is that he made a mistake. A terrible mistake caused by manipulation, hypocrisy, lies and...love. He made a mistake when he fell in love, when he let it guide him, when he let it overtake him and make him happy. He made a mistake when he confessed his love to Padme Amidala.

He made a mistake that caused him and the galaxy so much pain. The fear of losing what you love is the fear Jedi were taught to overcome the most. The perfection of the art of letting go became their goal and purpose. Through letting go they found peace.

But what is peace compared to the love of a woman? What is peace compared to the life of your children? Nothing. A word. Less than a word.

Anakin Skywalker let love inside of him, but once love has entered you, there is no way back. It will live in you, torture you, haunt you, until you either kill it or accept it. Killing love makes you merely human. Killing love does not leave peace, it only leaves dust and smoke and wounds.

The Jedi weren’t supposed to fall in love in the first place.

But love leads to fear. And fear causes the gravest mistakes, fear blinds and deafens you, no sense can overcome it. No discipline can make one fully let go of what one loves. People don’t work that way.

So Anakin Skywalker accepted love. He let it in. He came to the Order with seeds of fear already planted into him. Jedi take in infants so they can shield them from both love and fear from the very beginning. For once one knows love, there is no letting go.

But Anakin Skywalker already knew what love was. He knew how it was to lose it too. So he let it in again, for what is duty at the face of love? And with it came the fear of loosing it the way he had lost it before.

So Anakin Skywalker chose. He chose love over everything. He killed for love, he suffered and betrayed for love, and when he had the chance to take what he had been fighting for...he didn’t.

The true tragedy of Anakin Skywalker was that he made a mistake. He chose love over duty, and he paid for every second of it.

Turns out, the Jedi were right all along. Right in everything but their choice to take Anakin in. Right in everything but their own fear of loosing the power they could have gotten.

Turns out, the Sith were right too. Once people get power, the only fear they have is loosing it.

Balance is the true tragedy here. Balance is never merciful. Balance is cold. Balance brings peace. And death. Balance is never only black or only white. Neither is love.

But in the end, for Anakin Skywalker all of it — the Jedi, the Sith, Balance, the Truth, the Force — meant only one thing. Suffering.

Anakin Skywalker’s true tragedy is that he was never truly free. He was deceived. He made a mistake. He payed for his mistake with everything he had. Justice is never merciful either.

Anakin Skywalker’s true tragedy is that his greatest mistake was being human. And that the punishment for it was taking everything that made him so away.

Anakin Skywalker’s story is about justice at first glance. But in reality it is about the opposite of it.

You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it. 

Never tell yourself you missed your chance. 

Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough. 

You can do it. Whatever it is.

He got an affinity for the Dramatic and a Political Intelligence from his Grandmother

Padme just has a better vocabulary.

And finally, he gained the ability to Mask his Emotions and his Faith in Prophecies from his great grandmother

Shmi reminds me the most of Ben. She also passed down her darker features to Ben.

The Skywalker men (which does include Han) tend to get strung along. They're powerful yes, but aren't go-getters like their female counterparts. It's the females who tend to push the men along. But Ben is different, he goes out of his way to do things. He didn't get randomly tossed into where he is and what happened. He actively worked to get there.

That and the woman are just more open-minded, less stubborn in the way that they can change for the better.

And while the men do change, their changes are much more subtle and aren't as impactful. The men change because they're forced to, because of an internal struggle, one they give themselves. The men change because they decide to.

Anakin changes due to internal corruption. Luke due to an internal struggle with his wants and needs. Han changes due to an internal realization to become better than what he was.

The women? They change because of outside reasons that affect them. When the women change it's because of external reasons that they have to adapt to.

Shmi changes due to the external need of the force to take Anakin from her. (Not really a change but we don't see much of her regardless). Padme changes because of the external war and rising corruption due to the Emperor. And Leia changes because of the external Empire reign and her duty to her family.

And Ben? He changes because of Luke's moment of fear, an external thing. And then he changes again, because of Rey's influence on him. An external reason.

Idk you don't have to agree with this. This is just something I was thinking about and wanted to share.
