i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.
there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.
anyway, here's some of my favorite browser-based interactive projects and games, if you're into that kind of thing. 90% of them are on the lists that i linked above.

The New Campaign Trail - US presidential campaign game
Money Simulator - simulate financial decisions
Genesis - text-based adventure/fantasy game
Level 13 - text-based science fiction adventure game
Miniconomy - player driven economy game
Checkbox Olympics - games involving clicking checkboxes
BrantSteele.net - game show and Hunger Games simulators
Murder Games - fight to the death simulator by Orteil
Cookie Clicker - different but felt weird not including it. by Orteil.
if you're ever thinking about making a niche project that only a select number of individuals will be nerdy enough to enjoy, keep in mind i've been playing some of these games off and on for 20~ years (Alter Ego, for example). quite literally a lifetime of replayability.
I imagine the Phanbus boys would be friends with a lot of people from heroaca. I think Katsuki would be friends with Zaki, Tamon and Shouto I think would be pals. Kirishima and Mogari would get along like a house on fire. Izuku and Eugene.......

I've never seen someone do an animatic on paper before, but I can't be bothered with digital. Also this fanfic is literally so good that it inspired me to plan all of this out immediately after I finished reading it.
Also, I didn't see any Tumblr attached to this authors page, but if any of you know it I'd be happy to tag them in the final product.
Hopefully I can make some good progress with my 3-day weekend, though there's still quite a few scenes i need to do :/ I don't even know how detailed I'm gonna make anything...I was debating adding pops of color (like for masks and stuff) but idk if I will.
Also my pencil is literally smudging SO MUCH and my pencil has an AWFUL eraser. It literally just smears it around.

Fantastical weather patterns like irregular cloud formations, iridescent rain
Multiple moons/no moon
Planetary rings
A northern lights effect, but near the equator
Roads that aren’t brown or grey/black, like San Juan’s blue bricks
Jewelry beyond precious gems and metals
Marriage signifiers other than wedding bands
The husband taking the wife's name / newlyweds inventing a new surname upon marriage
No concept of virginity or bastardry
More than 2 genders/no concept of gender
Monotheism, but not creationism
Gods that don’t look like people
Domesticated pets that aren’t re-skinned dogs and cats
Some normalized supernatural element that has nothing to do with the plot
Magical communication that isn’t Fantasy Zoom
“Books” that aren’t bound or scrolls
A nonverbal means of communicating, like sign language
A race of people who are obligate carnivores/ vegetarians/ vegans/ pescatarians (not religious, biological imperative)
I’ve done about half of these myself in one WIP or another and a little detail here or there goes a long way in reminding the audience that this isn’t Kansas anymore.

I can't fathom the fact that some people watch a movie, show or read a book they like and they just go: "I liked it :)" and that's it....girl how?? Whenever I like a movie, tv show, book or musical I need to inhale that piece of media like it's air, I need to self insert myself in it and create an elaborate plot line for my character in it, then I listen to music that reminds me of the piece of media and think of it 24/7, while obsessively rewatching scenes and analyzing every bit of it till I notice details nobody has seen, finally, I try to convince people to watch it with me so that I can experience it for the first time through them. Then my obsession dies and I feel empty until the next one comes along..... and you're telling me people can enjoy something and just...go to sleep and not think of it again????
tried writing a fanfic and realized i have no idea how to carry a plot. my writing dreams were born and died on the same day.
My favorite thing to do before executing a risky maneuver is to loudly proclaim to anyone nearby that "I'm young, I'm fantastic, and I'm never gonna die". This is firstly to pump myself up, secondly because if I succeed I'll be proven right in front of an audience, and thirdly because it is the funniest possible thing to say immediately before being horrifically mangled in a completely dumbfuck sort of way

yap post out of curiosity hii!!! so first off!!! thank you SO MUCH to everyone who's shown interest in my tmnt 2012 human au; i was anxious posting at first BUT i feel quite comfortable now!!! x))
so anyway, rn i'm really considering writing the AU story as a fanfiction and not a comic-? like... a fic with at least one drawing to accompany each chapter? because tbh, i've been wanting to write longer stories for a while and i take UNBELIEVABLY long for a single panel cause i adjust stuff till everything lines up exactly down to a single PIXEL... ive been trying NOT to do that but my brain is like. my own nemesis sometimes ffs
so to those interested in the au...
i'd likely make an ao3 account if fic wins, thank goodness u can put images in fics lol... personally i do like reading fics and books tho cause then i can picture everything super cinematic in my head heh heh heh
also if i do a fic for the main story, i'm thinking i'll still do some comics for side stories!!! like i have a few things planned... one of which being casey taking donnie to visit his school teehee which i'd love to draw
