i've realized that there are a lot more things to do with timeline powers than just try out different options.

flowey convinces toriel to make him a snail pie (his favorite!) and he saves right before eating so he can eat it over and over without getting full or tired of it. he'll find out how to recreate a really happy moment and relive it when he's feeling down. he holds on to every happy memory, makes a running list of them so if it ever gets too predictable he can move on to another.

the list eventually goes into disuse. but on the surface, something dredges it up. and he can't recreate those memories perfectly, but he can try. and he can't fit all that pie in him again, but he can spend hours baking one every week as time keeps moving forward, and he can yell at frisk for mixing up the recipe and hear them crack a joke as they both dissolve into helpless laughter and, strangely, that feels like the same thing. and he keeps adding and adding to the list, and it feels really special when he gets to 100.

to add onto the “flowey has hyperspecific knowledge about a lot of topics” thing. he also has experience in a lot of areas that the average person may consider “odd” or “strange” or “really freaking creepy dude, wtf.”

for instance, he’s watching an action movie and someone just got stabbed and his first reaction is “that’s not how blood comes out of wounds. they didn’t cut through a big vein, so actually the blood would be more of a pour. if they attacked a little higher, closer to those veins near the heart, there’d maybe be that kinda spray. but, honestly, they haven’t even removed the sword yet, what’re they thinking?”

you know how some people learning japanese sound like anime characters because the japanese used in anime is different from the japanese used in real life and most of their immersion comes from anime rather than real people. that's siffrin with poterian and plays to me. buddy sounds like shakespeare when speaking poterian

this might a hot take but i think flowey would really like neopronouns. especially ones like gut/guts, blood/bloods, gore/goreself etc. but also star/starself. i think star would really like those.

flowey is a golden flower. golden flowers did not exist in the underground until asriel brought them back with him from the surface. golden flowers are edible and can be used to make tea. golden flowers are fictional plants from undertale.

buttercups are poisonous. buttercups already existed in the underground when chara fell. buttercups are what chara used to accidentally poison asgore and intentionally poison themself. buttercups are real flowers that exist in real life.
