I Think About Them…

a undertale yellow scenario/au idea:

Mettaton, in Undertale canon time, post UTYellow pacifist, goes into the abandoned Steamworks to see if there’s still anything fun in there to “repurpose” (steal) for Alphys’ projects.

however, he stumbles upon AXIS going on a date with their metal spouse. Mettaton leaves immediately since he doesn’t want to be rude or be seen, but he wants to know more, such as:

who is this other robot

who made them

why were they made

why are they living in the steamworks

do they have a soul? if they do, he’s not unique by being a robot with a soul anymore

were they made before, or after him? if they were made before him, he’s DEFINITELY not unique anymore

and he just goes on a wild chase trying to figure out the how and why of things and slowly discovering secrets that get crazier and crazier and more awful every time. by the end of it, Mettaton ends up having a conspiracy board covered with string and pictures and Alphys actually gets kind of concerned for him.

PSA: golden flowers and buttercups are not the same plant.

flowey is a golden flower. golden flowers did not exist in the underground until asriel brought them back with him from the surface. golden flowers are edible and can be used to make tea. golden flowers are fictional plants from undertale.

buttercups are poisonous. buttercups already existed in the underground when chara fell. buttercups are what chara used to accidentally poison asgore and intentionally poison themself. buttercups are real flowers that exist in real life.

Undertale Yellow True Pacifist spoilers //

things i noticed.

Around 3:13 in the UTY OST “Gift”, it starts to slow down a bit. In the last ten seconds of the song, I think it sounds a lot like the track “Good Night” from Undertale. But while Good Night ends on that final note, Gift doesn’t. It stops right before that note, ending in silence.

It’s a peaceful ending for Clover, but one they had to sacrifice themselves for. it’s not an ending where everyone is happy or free, but it is the happiest they could have gotten. just one step, one note away from that happiness- one SOUL away.

Another thing- we hear the track “Undertale” in New Home, while learning about the story and memories of Asriel and Chara. but “Undertale Yellow” is a *credits* track. in true pacifist we never make it to new home- we never get that far, because it wasn’t meant to be. instead we see the stories of the friends we made along the way as they were changed by our journey, and *we* become the memory that is preserved through our friends.

Funny how all of my top posts are Flowey-related. People must sense that I love the goober.

Fun fact: Papyrus tucks Flowey back into his little makeshift bed up in his room after the panel. Don't ask me how I came up with this, I just did.
