Student tech project by Andreas Refsgaard is a musical interface which uses gaze and facial recognition input to make music:
Eye Conductor is a musical interface that allows people with physical disabilities to play music through eye movements and facial gestures. Using a $99 eye tracker and a regular webcam, Eye Conductor detects the gaze and selected facial movements, thereby enabling people to play any instrument, build beats, sequence melodies or trigger musical effects. The system is open, designed for inclusion and can be customised to fit the physical abilities of whoever is using it.

Tina St. Claire was my friend, a brilliant artist and with all meaning of the phrase, one of a kind.
Tina passed away Wednesday morning, March 9th, 2016 at her home in Los Angeles, California after courageously battling Cancer. I don’t know how to sum someone’s life or our times together up in any form or fashion, it’s an impossible feat. But Tina was the genuine article when it came to art and being an incredible person. We had many adventures in the time we knew each other and she taught me many things from all points of life. She loved her fiancé Dereck Seltzer who was her collaborator, confidant and beside her to the very end. She loved her kitten Moogle. She was never not with a sketchbook and she always had a hilarious quip ready for anything. She saw the world with a light no one else held or will hold.
I will miss my friend. Sweet dreams sidekick.
I’ve gathered a number of Tina’s works of art, collaborations with her fiancé Dereck and other miscellaneous images below. Please take a look and look through her Instagram and Tumblr, she was always, always creating.

Nov. 27, 1969: Youngsters found a good spot to view the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, from atop a telephone booth. “It was a day of abundance, not only of foods and goods, but of emotions also,” reported The Times. “Five raggedy children entered the Salvation Army cafeteria at 535 West 48th Street and, sitting among the weary old men and women who traditionally feast with the army on this holiday, received heaps of turkey and potatoes, peas and pumpkin pie.” Elsewhere, some G.I.s boycotted turkey dinner, to protest the American war in Vietnam, as did the Vegetarian Society of New York, to protest the exploitation of animals. Yes, please!
So cool!
This close up of whale skin shows a community of living creatures. Gray Whales have two common hitchhikers on their bodies: barnacles and whale LICE. But whale lice aren’t lice at all; they’re a type of amphipod crustacean called cyamids. And each species of cyamid is unique to a species of whale! To survive, cyamids hitch a ride on a whale and munch bits of its skin and flesh. If the whale is healthy these parasites don’t harm it - a commensal relationship. If a whale is covered in them it is often an indication of illness or injury. Photo by refuge volunteer Roy W. Lowe

These are wonderful!
So one of the perks of my job is that occasionally, publishers just send me really cool books for free, like the Star Wars Propaganda Art book, which came with a bunch of awesome mini-posters:
Seeing as I’m not planning to hang all these mini-posters up on my wall, I thought I might share the love a little bit with a follower giveaway! Here’s the deal:
You must be following me to win! This is really a thank you for the people who have stuck with me through blog shifting and fandom jumping, etc. (Though you can certainly still win if you just started following me!)
Likes and reblogs count. Feel free to reblog it as many times as you want.
I’ll randomly select seven winners on 12/19. The first winner will get to pick one of the seven posters above, the second winner from the remaining six, and so on. You can only win once.
You’ll have to be comfortable giving me your name and address, since I gotta ship it to you somehow.
That’s it! If you have any questions or want to see any of the posters up close, my inbox is always open! Good luck, friends <3
If you dive, even in broad daylight, in a submarine, you see more shades of blue than there are names for blue. From pale to ultradark… to ultraviolet… and then it’s black.

Here at Ooga Booga, we pretty much back everything Brooks Headley does. As former head pastry chef at four-star, Del Posto, and now as the owner of the BEST burger restaurant in the world, Superiority Burger, Headley has graced the world with food best tasted to be believed. For anyone outside of New York City, his constant changing specials are documented in the Specials Graveyard zine and his unique and delicious dessert recipes can be found in Fancy Desserts. Not only can Brooks serve a tasty dish, but he can also deliver a punishing drum beat. Brooks has worked the rhythm section for various hardcore groups, including Born Against, the Universal Order of Armageddon and C.R.A.S.H..
Today, Brooks drums for duo OLDEST with Orthrelm guitarist Mick Barr. The results of their collaboration are worthy listening for any aficionado of heavier sounds.OLDEST conjure blasts of visceral, dissonant thrash that should appeal to anyone looking to get away from the usual Discharge-clones. We’re pretty stoked to be now be carrying their two outposts: a 6-song self-titled LP and a more recent 7-inch entitled “We’re Italians Too!”.

Red InkStone or (Rouge InkStone / 脂砚斋) is the pseudonym of an early, mysterious commentator of the 21st-century narrative, "Life." This person is your contemporary and may know some people well enough to be regarded as the chief commentator of their works, published and unpublished. Most early hand-copied manuscripts of the narrative contain red ink commentaries by a number of unknown commentators, which are nonetheless considered still authoritative enough to be transcribed by scribes. Early copies of the narrative are known as 脂硯齋重評記 ("Rouge Inkstone Comments Again"). These versions are known as 脂本, or "Rouge Versions", in Chinese.
