Just some genshin impact fanart! I remember being really proud of these when i made them, I put a lot of work into rendering them and genshin characters are so detailed and hard to draw. Which was probably good for my growth as an artist, but it was also a pain, so it's nice being in fandom spaces now with much simpler character designs!

I'd learned how to do ink washes and collaging for my art class, so I used those skills to make this sketchbook cover! I really really love how it turned out ^^ I meant to add more little smoke wisp things but never got around to it. Most of my sketchbook covers end up left somewhat unfinished

There's some easter eggs in this piece that represent stuff i drew in this sketchbook! i'm not going to explain them though :3

Another Minecraft OC, Piper! Uses she/her pronouns mainly, for now at least. If i work on her again on the future i'll probably find some neos to add She lives in a world covered in skulk, where ironically an ancient city has become one of the only safe places to live. So she makes a new home underground with a community of other survivors, trying to make the best of things and rebuild after having lost so much. I was going for a hopeful post-apocalyptic vibe :D Piper is really caring a mostly upbeat, but she's the kind of person who focuses on other people's needs above her own to the point of self destruction. I think at some point she got so busy clearing skulk out of the city without much rest that she got infected, which she then had to rest a lot to recover from She's close to another of my OCs, Dianthus (who i don't think i've posted here before). But they live in different dimensions so they can't see each other very often :(

This was supposed to be for day 15 and I'd basically finished the post, i just had to add the link, but I completely forgot to do that so it's day 16 instead!

My minecraft hardcore mode character, Haven! I love them so much but they're one of the characters who i have so much trouble figuring out what set of pronouns they'd use. I think haven uses any? but over time its gone between they/them, they/them + neos, he/they, they/he/she, any, and any except she so i'm not exactly sure any more. its been a while since ive worked on them or thought about their story so idk if ill ever get it settled

Oh yeah also i made this character reference sheet for art fight! and someone ended up drawing them which was really cool :D

This possibly took me 10+ hours to make? It was split between multiple days and I wasn't really keeping track of time so idk exactly how long but it was a while! I really enjoyed it though it's fun making art that moves :D

@skatingsailor I finally finished my art for the sailor dtiys!!

I started the one on the left first but got buried in art class homework and didn't really feel like breaking the colored pencils out again to finish it so I decided to start over and switch to watercolor since it's the medium I work faster in, and also my favorite.

they were bothe fun to work on! I really liked drawing the big yellow bow and doing the blue shading especially

My OCs Mint and Rose! (idk if ive posted them on this blog much before) I originally designed them for 3D modeling class, they change main colors but always have the other one's color in their eyes (they're girlfriends) I don't have much of a story for them and their designs aren't super solidified but I like drawing them :D

@amusementarcade I finished it! It took a bit because i got distracted reading homestuck (im at around page 3600 now) and making a short animation that ill probably post sometime in the next couple days :D the hands and colors were giving me trouble which made me procrastinate a bit (possible spoilers below cut in case anyone else reading this would like to avoid them)

Its kind of funny that when i started this gamzee was just a silly guy i hadn't really seen in a while and now that i've finish this he's killed a bunch of people and gotten kicked off a cliff! I wasn't expecting him to become such a relevant character so quickly but im looking forward to seeing what he does next, assuming he didn't die of fall damage. Also wow there has indeed been so much more stabbing and blood in this comic!!

a redraw i did! they both ended up having very different vibes i think I drew so so so much hollow knight fanart in 2019, and i often gave the bugs little mouths so they could express emotions better. not something i'd do today, but i understand past me's artistic choice and i can respect it also the collector isn't this big in the actual game anyways, so im taking some artistic liberties in both of them (for dramatic effect)

I did mermay one year! Everything was made with inks and colored pencils, but it was before i'd actually figured out how to best use colored pencils. I used a promptlist from instagram that i liked the look of and posted all the illustrations to my instagram (which is very dead nowadays. i only still have the app installed so loki can send me reels and stuff) I'd improved a lot by the end of it, but i often ended up missing/delaying days and i was being buried under homework while i did it Mermaids are one of my go-to subject matters for sketches, so its kinda strange i haven't really posted any here before.

I was watching a bunch of videos by LDshadowlady at the time, and i had the thought of using it as a limited color palettes, and then later i decided to do the same thing for Scott Smajor's transition screen when i watched a bunch of his videos. They're both pretty messy, i don't like working in digital much. But i think they're pretty fun ^^

Rose Pixel art dump!!

First one I did, pretty simple portrait!

I really like trying out different limited color pallets when I make art, and this one was a great fit for her ^^

The part of the comic I was reading had a lot of Rose and Kanaya interactions, so I drew them together :D (around page 2700 I think?)

This color palette was kind of hard to work with but I think it turned out pretty well ^^

And I learned how to animate walk cycles the other day so I decided to make one of her because I find them pretty fun!! I might make some for some other characters too.

Rambling under cut!

This may or may not be a surprise to people, but i like Genshin Impact a lot! Although it is very much not perfect and I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. Or most people, at least not without a disclaimer

I was extremely into it for almost two years after it released but started to drift away from it August 2022 (when Loki and I discovered DSMP), and since then I'll occasionally get back into it for a couple weeks or a month before getting distracted again

Practicing drawing the very detailed characters was great for me artistically though, and i've drawn a lot of fanart for it! I have 115 images of fanart saved in my images, which is also about the same amount as i have for hollow knight.

Oh also, rare inked drawing! I don't like inking much, it feels very easy to mess up with them, and these days I tend more towards colored pencils as lines. But I've done some cool stuff with pens to, one of my favorites of which I'll be posting onc we get into Halloween week :3

The rules of pixel art Hornets is that

1: it must be drawn on the classroom computer, usually right before or after class starts or in short 5 minute intervals to take a break

and 2: it must use a new color palette

I used piskelapp.com to draw these and lospec.com for color palettes!
