Coriolanus sat with an emotionless look on his face as he sat on the rocky train that was taking him to his worst nightmare. He was being shipped off to District 12 for cheating to help you win the games. He didn’t regret that, he never would.
But this was not the ideal outcome he’d imagined.
At least he wouldn’t be completely alone— after all, he was going to your district. He just wished it was under different circumstances.
“You know, I thought I might find you here,” Sejanus’ words caused him to turn around immediately, breaking him from his thoughts. “Sitting all by yourself.” He teased, walking into the train cart Coriolanus was currently in.
“Sejanus, what’re you doing—” He stood up, his eyebrows knitted together in concern and annoyance.
“What do you think?” He cut him off with a scoff. “After what I did in the arena? My father had to buy me the Academy a brand new gym just so I could get my diploma.” He put his bag down. “He begged me to stay, but once I found out where they were sending you, I couldn’t get out fast enough.” He admitted with a sigh, moving to sit down. “Barely made the train ‘cause of this stupid knee, but it’s okay, they gave me some morphling for the pain.”
Coriolanus looked at him with judgment. “You volunteered for this?”
“I figured if I get through basic and then maybe I’d become a medic.” He beamed. “Maybe make a real difference out here… just like you said.” Sejanus’ gaze turned downward. “They never told us what you did,”
“I cheated.” He answered, shamelessly. “To save Y/N from the snakes.” Sejanus’ nodded slowly, understanding where his friend was coming from. After a beat of silence, Coriolanus’ tearful eyes met his. “Do you think they killed her?”
“Why would they risk it?” Sejanus questioned with furrowed brows. “She was a big hit, if there is a games next year, they’re probably gonna invite her to sing at the opening ceremony.” He joked with a smile.
Coriolanus didn’t laugh. “You know, when you came in, I was weighing the merits of suicide.” He half-joked, his smile not meeting his eyes.
“When we’re about to be free?” Sejanus shot back. “When the girl you risked everything for might be waiting for you at the end of this track?” At his words, Coriolanus’ throat ran dry, the tears returning to his eyes. The possibility that you might be waiting not even crossing his mind. Sejanus looked at him with a knowing glint in his eye. “My friend, don’t give them the satisfaction. Your life has just begun. You’re gonna do great— We’re both gonna do great.”
Sejanus’ words still rung in his ears, even if they were spoken all those months ago.
Even now, when you were delicately tucked under his arm, your head buried in his neck as you slept soundly. That conversation seemed to take home in his mind, never leaving.
You were, in-fact, waiting for him, and the moment you saw him you ran into his arms, and he cherished you every day from that moment. The pair of you spent as much time together as you could, and you loved every second of it. As did he.
You were like a star of brightness in his darkness— lighting up places he didn’t even know existed and granting them with your warmth. And now that you weren’t fighting for your life, he got to learn so much about you.
He learned about your quirks, your personality, your smile, all of it. You learned the same about him.
But nights like these where he couldn’t find sleep and was left up alone, the silence and ringing of the bugs outside consumed him, the man getting caught up in the ropes that was his thoughts.
He often didn’t believe he deserved you, that you were too pure for him. You were gifted to him by mistake, but he was too selfish to let you go.
And, God, you never wanted him too.
Coriolanus had a bad habit of not speaking his mind, and bottling his emotions until they bubbled over, everything coming out in one out burst of rage and sadness. You didn’t blame him, you never did. Instead, you picked him up from the floor and held him until he calmed down.
He had never experienced the type of love you gave him, and it scared the shit out of him. He didn’t know how to return it, he wasn’t good with kind of stuff. You taught him things everyday, though.
You snuggled deeper into his neck, his uneven breathing causing you, a light sleeper, to wake up. Or, according to your theories, you were so interlinked with Coryo that you could sense when he was overthinking.
You left a small patch of kisses on his throat, cracking your sleepy eyes open to confirm your suspicions— the boy was staring off into space, not a drop of sleep in his eyes.
“Coryo,” You whispered, leaning up to kiss his jaw softly. He turned at your acts, his eyes meeting yours as his previous frown was replaced with that lovey smile you adored. “Can’t sleep?”
He shook his head, temporarily pushing you off of him in order for him to turn on his side to properly look at you. Once he got situated, he pulled you back into his chest, a giggle leaving your lips.
Your fingers came up to knead through his messy platinum locks. “What’s on your mind, baby?”
His eyes fluttered closed for a moment. “Nothing.. it’s just, sometimes I think you may be too good for me.” He admitted slowly.
Your eyebrows shot up. “Coryo, if anything, you’re too good for me. Remember, honey, I’m ‘District Trash’.” You laughed, repeating the words Lucky Flickermen had said about you before wrapping your arms around his neck and leaving kisses all over his face. “You must be a fool if you can’t see how in love I am with you. You are more than good to me, I couldn’t imagine my life with anyone else.” You promised, continuing to leave kisses on your lover’s smiling face with every word you spoke.
His arms wrapped around your waist, hugging you closer to him. “I love you,” He whispered in your ear, beginning to leave his own kisses on your neck and jaw.
Butterflies creeped up your spine at his confession, a love-sick smile tugging on your lips as you leaned up to really kiss him.
His hands came up to cup your face as he slipped his tongue into your mouth, the kiss only being further fueled with your burning passion for each other. Your hands slipped back into his locks for purchase as the kiss grew more needy. You let out a whimper against his mouth when he began to kiss you harder, angling your body back to deepen it further.
He smirked against your lips at your noises, before pulling back for air. His thumb swiped back and forth across your cheekbone as you both stared at each other, love strong in the both of your eyes.
“I love you, Coryo.” You whispered back, before taking your spot back in his arms. “Get some sleep, my love.” You left another kiss on his throat, the boy hugging you somehow closer, leaving a kiss on your forehead.
“Thank you,” He softly spoke, leaning up to blow out the candle you had lit earlier.
“Always,”

you could almost remember the last time you and eddie had sex before the breakup. it wasn't exactly anything special or earth-shatteringly romantic, it was basically hurried and strictly fucking, not making love like you used to. just a means to release steam and get off.
that was proven by the lack of words spoken after you both finished, before rolling over to opposite sides of the bed and going to sleep.
but you weren't at all surprised by the lack of talking and intimacy, in fact, you had grown accustomed to it over the past couple of months. to say that you had both drifted would be an understatement. you had hardly shared more that 10 words within that time, simple small talk and questions about dinner and or what the plans were for the day.
with eddie having to repeat his senior year, again, you had graduated last year. you were nineteen and eddie was twenty, you had both met at high school. you were in a band who wrote shitty rock songs and performed them at small bars and events. you weren't popular by any means, but everyone knew who you were and they respected you. you stayed out of their way and they stayed out of yours.
eddie was the complete opposite. he was dramatic, loved causing problems and putting the attention on himself. he revelled in the feeling of eyes on him and loved to rile people up, especially the jocks. but you didn't care about that, you knew you loved him as soon as you met him. he was such a character and you felt pulled in by those dark brown eyes.
he was sweet, the perfect boyfriend. he wasn't boring, he brought new surprises to the table each day, always exciting you. he was caring and protective, always putting you first above the d&d campaigns, above drug deals, above the band. you understood his hobbies and you fully supported them, you were the proudest girlfriend and loved eddie more than words could ever express.
but something happened in the last two months, you had no idea what, but eddie had drifted, he'd been spending extra time at d&d campaigns, spending more time with the guys from the band. it wouldn't have been a problem if he hadn't been missing dates, and hang outs with you. graduation was drawing closer for him, which you completely understood him being busy focusing on all of this, but it wasn't helping your relationship.
he had begun to push you away. you could see it in his eyes that he had slowly lost interest. you spent hours wondering where it all went wrong, what you had done to make him push you away. but it came to nothing.
but a few days after the last time you were intimate, you both decided to call the three-year-long relationship off. you had taken all your stuff from his uncle's trailer, and he's taken his from your house that you shared with your brother. you were absolutely heartbroken, but in the long run, it was probably for the best.
but life wasn't that easy for you, because no less than two weeks after the breakup were you staring at a positive pregnancy test.
it couldn't have been worse timing, but there was no way you would get rid of this baby. the thought had run through your head plenty of times, but you couldn't bring yourself to do that.
after another week of mulling over your options you eventually broke down to your brother and told him everything. him and his girlfriend comforted you as you sobbed the whole night, they promised you that no matter what they would support you and help you.
they had both encouraged you to talk to eddie. you had originally planned to tell him sooner, but he was really hard to get ahold of. you called and he was always busy or he was too tired to meet up, it was hopeless.
you were now fourteen weeks along, and starting to show, thankful for your affinity for oversized clothing and t-shirts which helped hide your situation.
you wore your oversized black sabbath t-shirt when you went to eddie's trailer, you knew he was home because his van was parked outside. you were glad that his uncle worked night shifts, because you didn't really want to do this in front of wayne.
you were mad, furious even, your anger bubbles inside of your chest just begging to be released. you wished things hadn't happened like this, it would've been easier to have found out you were pregnant whilst you were both still dating, not like this.
but you were also angry at eddie for not making an effort to see you these past few weeks. you had called countless times, begging him to meet you just for five minutes to talk, but he was constantly busy. which fuelled your angry knocking on his trailer door, reaching the point of frustration that you couldn't care less if you woke his neighbours.
this was your first time back at his trailer since the breakup, it felt strange, you were used to using your spare key to go there whenever, and just casually strolling in, but you couldn't do that anymore.
when eddie answered the door, he was wearing his hellfire t-shirt and a pair of red plaid pyjama pants. his hair was messy as usual, clearly in need of a hairbrush.
"what do you want?", he groaned, running a hand down his face.
"well you weren't making time to meet me, despite me begging about thirty times," you deadpanned, crossing your arms across your chest.
"i've been busy, y/n. you know that," he rolled his eyes, one hand leaning against the doorframe.
"well, you're not busy now, munson. and we really need to talk," you ducked under his arm, and made your way inside the trailer.
your eyes scanned the room and noticed how little it had changed. you hadn't necessarily expected big change, or eddie and wayne to completely redecorate etc, but you would've thought eddie would've at least taken down the posters you had got him.
you heard the door close behind you and turned to face eddie, who looked utterly exhausted.
"why are you here?", he asked, his voice void of emotion.
"why the hell are you being like this?", you scoffed, crossing your arms again.
"like what?", he scoffed, crossing his arms too.
"so damn hostile, eddie! we loved each other, we were together for three fucking years! as far as i knew, our breakup was mutual, and we could be in the same room without wanting to rip the others head off," you exclaimed exasperatedly.
eddie sighed and stepped a little closer to you, and you tried to read his eyes and body language but it was useless, he was a damn closed book.
"not everything is about you y/n! god, i can be in a bad mood and it doesn't have to be anything to do with you," he argued.
"well, what's wrong?", you asked, almost feeling bad for him before he shut you down again.
"you're not my fucking therapist y/n. why are you here?", he huffed.
"i wanted to talk to you."
"so talk!", he exclaimed, throwing his arms in the air exasperatedly.
"maybe it would be best if i came back at a different time," you sighed, turning to the door.
"there won't be a better time! just say what you needed to say and then leave!", he shouted, causing you to turn around to face him.
this was not the same eddie munson that you fell in love with. he would never talk to you like this, look at you like this, he would never even think of raising his voice at you. this was not the man you wanted to father your unborn child.
"you do know you're the reason that we broke up, right?", you said, fists clenching as you felt that familiar ache in your chest that you've been feeling since you broke up.
eddie only rolled his eyes. "i thought i might be."
"you just shut down completely eddie, you shut me out! you hardly looked at me, or talked to me anymore. i tried to fucking hard, and i got nothing in return from you," you shouted, your nails digging into your palms so hard that you were sure crescent moon shaped indents would be appearing on your skin.
"is that the reason you came here? to yell at me about how i was an awful boyfriend? we'll let me tell you this y/n, you don't know anything. and i am certainly not in the fucking mood for this!", he yelled back.
"i never said you were a terrible boyfriend! you were a perfect boyfriend right up until those last moments, and i don't even know what happened to you, to us. and you're never in the mood, that's the fucking problem!", you argued.
"well, i guess it's a good job we're broken up then."
"you're just fucking impossible eddie. what happened to you, huh? you used to be the sweetest most caring boyfriend ever, and it's like you woke up one morning and chose not to be. where did the man that i love go?", you cried, exhausted with eddie's out of character lack of care.
"it's just life y/n. things change, people change," he ran his hands down his face as he turned away.
you were angry. he wasn't paying any attention and was completely dismissive to you and your feelings.
"don't turn your back on me when i'm talking to you!", you exclaimed.
"you're not even talking, you're fucking yelling! i don't wanna' listen to it, this isn't where you live anymore y/n, so please leave," he spun around to face you, running a hand through his hair.
"i'm not going anywhere until i say what i wanted to say!"
"so fucking say it, then leave! give me some goddamn peace and quiet!", he scoffed.
"you asshole, i'm fucking pregnant!", you shouted.
eddie froze. the kind of stoicalness where his eyes were wide, his lips parted, his heartbeat running a mile a minute. his fists which were balled up at his sides, an anxious habit of his, released. he felt like he had just been hit by a truck, like his ribs were crushed and his lungs punctured and he couldn't breath.
"y-you're...what?", he breathed out, his eyes wide as he stared at your teary form.
"i'm fourteen weeks. i wanted to tell you sooner, but you wouldn't give me a chance," you explained, the date eliminating his first question about the validity of him being the father.
but he also knew you, he knew there was no way you would ever move on that quickly. eddie slumped down onto the couch, his eyes casted to the ground as he slowly blinked, trying to process what had just happened.
"pregnant. you're pregnant...yo- we're having...a baby," he breathed out shakily, his eyes casting up to you as you tugged the fabric of your black sabbath t-shirt tight to your back so he could see the small bump that had begun to form.
he felt his eyes begin to sting as they welled up with tears. when you were together, eddie wanted nothing more than to start a family with you in the future, you had both spoke about your aspirations and future plans during one of your dates. but this wasn't how he wanted it to be.
he didn't hate you, not at all. he could never hate you, you were the one good thing in his life that made him feel like he belonged, that he was significant.
you gently sat on the couch beside him, keeping just under a foot distance between you. you stared at your hands which rested in your lap, just waiting for eddie to say something.
you expected him to yell at you, to call you names, or kick you out. but the words that left his lips stunned you into complete silence.
"i'm sorry."
your head lifted to meet his eyes. the tears now fell freely.
"what?", you spoke, your voice almost a whisper.
"i'm so fucking sorry. i'm so sorry," he began to sob, the damn breaking and all of his emotions overflowing.
you instinctively wrapped your arms around his shoulders as he clutched your shirt, his body shaking as it wracked with the sobs. one of your hands smoothed over his hair, the faint smell of cinnamon and apple filling your nose as you pressed a kiss to the top of his head. he had clearly just gotten out of his shower before you arrived, still using your shampoo that you left there.
it smelt like home. it felt like home. being in eddie's arms again gave you hope that everything was going to be okay.
the rest of the night, the pair of you just talked about everything. a lot of tears were shed. but you had finally gotten your explanation for the distance before the breakup.
jason carver was the reason. all throughout high school, jason had feelings for you, but you rejected him every time because you was utterly in love with eddie. after graduation, you decided to take a gap year in order to save up money for when you eventually moved away to college. you had a dream of studying law at georgetown, and you had good enough grades and references to do so.
but the problem was, jason wasn't used to not getting what he wanted. so he used his influences to his advantage, he cornered eddie and threatened him that if he didn't break up with you, then he would make sure his fathers friend, the dean of georgetown, wouldn't accept you.
eddie knew he had to. there was no way he was going to risk your future and your dreams. so he started to drift from you, in hopes of making it less painful and questioning that just out of the blue breaking up with you.
eddie sobbed as he told you how sorry he was over and over again, he felt awful for what he done to you.
“i promise, i’m going to do better than both of our father’s. i’m going to be there every step of the way, it means so much to me that you’re giving me this chance,” eddie spoke, his voice breaking a little as the tears still fell. “i’m going to be the best damn father ever.”
“oh eds,” you whispered, wiping away his tears with your thumbs.
he looked up at you, his eyes wide and his mouth slightly agape as he looked towards your belly.
“can i…?”, he asked, trailing off after you nodded, instantly knowing what he meant.
you gently lifted up your shirt, holding it just beneath your chest which revealed the fourteen week bump. eddie felt more tears begin to roll softly down his cheeks, he looked nervous to touch you. so you took the initiative to carefully pick up his hand and place it on your belly. once his breathing steadied, you removed your hand and watched as he placed the other one carefully beside the one that was already on your belly.
“hi baby, i’m eddie. i’m your…i’m your dad,” he spoke through his tears, his hands caressing your belly so gently in fear that he would hurt you or the baby.
eddie could be quite heavy handed, but he was always so gentle with you, so this was no exception. he leant forward slowly and pressed a small, lingering kiss to your belly.
you bit your lip to prevent the happy tears from falling at eddie’s actions. seeing him like this, so soft and paternal made your heart skip hundreds of beats.
“i can’t wait to meet you peanut, but you’ve got to grow for a bit longer in your mommy’s belly. we both can’t wait to meet you,” he spoke softly, his head still lingering near your belly.
“peanut?”, you asked, a small chuckle slipping past your lips.
eddie looked up at you through his lashes, his soft brown eyes just reminding you once again why you love him so much.
“yeah, it sounds cute,” he shrugged with a small smile.
“hmm…peanut. it’s cute,” you hummed.
eddie began to sit up, your eyes connecting. in that moment, it felt like you were back as your sixteen-year-old self, about to have your first kiss with your lifelong crush.
“can i kiss you, please?”, he whispered, his right hand reaching up to gently cup your cheek.
you looked at his furrowed brows and pursed lips, seeing the sincerity in his eyes and you nodded.
he gently pressed his lips to yours, it felt like nothing had changed. it felt like a cold glass of water on a hot summers day, the first bite of a fresh strawberry, hearing a crowd cheer after a gig. it felt refreshing, but also comforting. he was so soft and delicate, nothing was more comforting than eddie.
you loved him more than life itself.
—
twenty-six weeks later, you held a six pound, four ounce baby girl in your arms at hospital. eddie sat on the edge of the bed, tears in his eyes once again as he gently ran his index finger up and down your babies tiny little nose.
“peanut was very fitting,” he spoke up, causing you to look up at his tiredly through your lashes.
eddie simply smiled at you, and his smile was delightfully infectious.
“i love you sweetheart,” he grinned, leaning down to press a kiss to your sweaty forehead.
“i love you too, eds,” you smiled back, both of you looking back to your beautiful baby girl.
“i love you too, my little peanut. i can’t wait for life with you and your beautiful mommy,” he cooed at your sleeping baby.
SUMMARY - skipping practice and getting caught partying.
3.2k words. Jackie Taylor x Fem! Reader.
TW - alcohol, some jerk tries to take advantage of the reader.
Normally you would walk to practice with Taissa after class, but today you managed to slip out earlier. After finishing your lab you politely asked your teacher to go to the library, but you already gathered all your stuff and headed toward the door before she could even respond. As a teacher’s pet your teacher lets you go knowing your intentions were probably for good. Little did she know that you were going to ditch class and help your friends set up for a party later. Walking with purpose, you meet your friends in the parking lot before any of the yellowjackets could have noticed that you were gone.
As the bell rings, Taissa packs up her stuff and looks over toward your desk to notice that you were missing. It wasn’t out of the norm for you to go to practice early once you finished your work, but usually, you would have given her a heads-up. She contemplates whether or not she did something wrong that caused you to leave in such a hurry, but nonetheless, she walked towards the locker room expecting you to be there.
Usually on Fridays, the yellowjackets would have a game, but this week was their bi-week. However, with the absence of a game in the schedule, the captain decided that they should put in extra work and add an extra practice.
Once Tai was in the locker room she glanced around looking for you, but to her findings, you were not there. “Hey has anyone seen y/n?” she questioned before no one was able to confirm the whereabouts of your presence. “I'm sure she’ll be here, she never misses a practice. Maybe she went to turn in work before practice started? I mean technically she has till we start stretching on the field until she’s officially late.” Van acknowledges in attempts to make sense of your sudden disappearance. “Yeah, you're right… She was just acting a little weird today.” Tai admits before beginning to get ready to head out to the field. “I'm sure the Lord will lead her to practice safely! We should not have to worry for her.” Laura optimistically states before she goes out to the field. “Hopefully she gets here before Jackie starts terrorizing us for letting her get away with this,” Natalie said bluntly as she also headed out for practice. The rest of the girls hummed in response not particularly defending you as they finished getting ready and headed out to the field.
While they were about to start practice your friends voted that you should be the one to go on beer runs due to your charm, but you knew that they were just afraid to do it. You agreed with hesitation as your friends chipped in a bunch of money. Counting up the cash they drove to the liquor store that has a reputation for letting teens slide. Sighing nervously, you exited the car as you entered the store and smiled slightly at the man before heading towards shelves that had brands you were familiar with. Building up the courage to ask the man for help collecting some drinks, you looked towards him before asking timidly “Can I have a little help over here? I think I'm biting off more than I can chew and buying more than I will be able to carry…:”. The owner was quick to jump to help as he brought over two boxes to put the drinks in while grinning at you widely already suspecting what you were doing. “So what do you need all of this alcohol for? Big party tonight?” he asked as he started helping to put drinks that you pulled out into the boxes. “Something like that… we are having a wedding on Sunday and being the life of the party I decided to go out of the way to make it a little more fun.” lying straight through your teeth as you smiled at him. “Oh yeah? Who’s getting married? I know almost everyone in this town,” he challenged unconvinced by your previous statement. “Oh it's a distant cousin. My mom owns the local wedding venue by the lake so she offered the place completely free of charge.” quickly made up a response as you finished putting the drinks in the boxes and going to lift one in an attempt to avoid eye contact. “Well, congratulations to them!” He said chuckling as he picked up the other box and went towards the counter to ring you up. He rings up about three hundred dollars worth of alcohol before he says “Can I see your ID?”. You looked at him afraid. ’Shit’ you thought as you stumbled getting out your wallet to look through it to make it look like you were looking for an ID before he announces “I’m just kidding. You should of saw the look on your face! Will that be cash or card?” he laughs out loud as he waits for a response. ‘Very funny’ you thought sarcastically before faking a smile at him “Cash.” You hand him the wad of cash your friends gave you and once he hands back the change you were quick to pocket it. “Do you need any help carrying this to your car?” he asked genuinely but you responded quickly “Don't worry about it, I’ll just make the two trips,” you said hurriedly as you grabbed one box and brought it to the trunk of the car. One of the guys was leaning on it and he offered to quickly take the box and put it in the trunk smirking. As you went back in to get the final box the owner looks at you genuinely before saying “Have fun kid.” with a smile. Smiling back as a response you brought the second box giddily as you were surprised with what you got away with. As you hand off the box to the boy you jumped in the car ecstatic already looking forward to the night.
Back at practice, Jackie was quick to notice your absence. “Where’s y/l/n? Is she sick?” she asked a little frustrated that you did not inform her earlier of your absence. After a moment of silence, Tai jumped in “She disappeared during class… maybe she was not feeling well?” Tai offered in an attempt to save you. “Not feeling well my ass, I'm sure she would have said something,” Jackie remarked quickly as all of the girls started to stretch. Once practice was over Jackie was determined to find your whereabouts and shun you for not being a team player and participating. Some reasons were thrown out there about why you might have not shown up to practice today, but none of them made sense. They moved on to start practice and time seemed to fly by as the sun was already down. They were over before they knew it and back in the locker room. As they all were finishing up for the day Lottie received a text before she summarized it out loud “...seems like there's a party at y/n’s friend's house and it looks like she’s already there.” Lottie smirks as the other girls crowd around her. Her phone had a picture of you and your friend, Jake, who draped his arms around you seemingly already drunk out of your minds. “You got to be kidding me…” Jackie scoffs as a tinge of jealousy is evident on her face. ” Who knew she had the balls in her!” Van announces loudly laughing before continuing “...I think I know where we should go tonight!” Van suggests an attempt to start a little drama.”I swear, y/l/n will never be able to step on the field again after this.” Jackie said frustrated as she walked out of the locker room to hurry home. The girls left in the locker room looked around a little astonished by their captain’s urgency but were overcome with excitement as they planned to go to the party.
Once Jackie finished picking out an outfit with Shauna they waited for Jeff to take them to the party. “I can’t believe she would do this to us. We are so close to making it to the championships and she’s being completely reckless. Then she had that guy hanging off her as if she has no care about her reputation. It makes the team look bad!” she rambles on to her best friend complaining about your actions, but she was full of jealousy. “Jackie, the girl skips once and it’s almost the end of the world. Let us be realistic now.” Shauna says sarcastically over Jackie's complaints “Why do you care anyways? It’s like your obsessed with her.” she chuckles lightly as she turns to Jackie looking at herself in the mirror. “I’m not obsessed! I just care about the team! I mean she’s out throwing a rager in little to no clothes and expects the school to take us seriously?” Jackie sighs as she clearly could not hide her jealousness. “I think it might be much deeper than that… I’m sure once you find her you guys can have a conversation about our reputation and your obsession…” Shauna jokes knowingly before dodging a pillow Jackie threw at her. “Oh shut up! She won’t even make it out alive!” Jackie plays along before being interrupted by Jeff honking his horn. “We better get going before she won't even be able to remember your attack.” Shauna snickers as they head out to go to the party.
You wandered around the party completely lost as your friends ditched you half an hour ago to play a game of beer pong. Holding a cup with your name smeared on it and wearing a pair of glasses that were not yours it was not difficult to tell your a few drinks away before making decisions you will regret later. Stumbling towards the kitchen you ran into a couple of football players and their girlfriends. You grin up at them before attempting to get to the counter to fill up another drink as you take off the glasses, but before you could make it a tall guy steps into your view. “Hey gorgeous!” he said smugly before continuing “...if you're looking to fill your cup you're out of luck.” This was the worse thing you heard all night as you looked around the kitchen and only saw empty bottles “Noooooo!” you slurred completely devastated. “Hey calm down! Im sure there might be some more downstairs in the bar room…” he said chuckling as you were completely unaware of his intentions. The idea of another drink excited you before exclaiming “Really? Where?”. He smirks down at you before taking you down the hall and opening the stairs to the basement. Before anything happens the yellowjackets arrived at the perfect time as Lottie grabs onto your arm pulling you away from the guy. “What the hell do you think you’re doing with her?” Lottie yelled as Jackie followed after her shortly after noticing the situation. Jackie did not hesitate to grab your waist before pulling you to her side as she looked menacingly at the guy “Who do you even think you are, asshole? No wonder you’re single you can't even get a girl when she’s sober, so you try to take advantage of them! Get the hell out of here!” She screamed out at the boy. He mumbles a ‘screw you’ under his breath before he backs down from fighting the girl's soccer captain.
She looked down at you as her heart broke at the idea of your friends leaving you alone at the party in such a vulnerable state. Noticing tears were threatening to spill from your eyes she looked up at Lottie before saying “Can you make sure to tell off her friends? I Can’t even stand the idea of those losers right now.” She huffed out. Lottie nodded understandingly as she left off to complete her mission.
Jackie began to lead you outside to allow you to get a breath of fresh air. She lead you to where all the cars were parked, but she still held you close by her side embracing your warmth. Begrudgingly pulling away from you, she gently holds your shoulders to look into your eyes in an attempt to read the thoughts in your mind. “I don’t think you understand half of how worried and frustrated I am right now,” she said clearly before going to cup your face to wipe off your tears. As she held onto your face you looked down at her lips before back at her eyes. The liquor started talking to you as you leaned in quickly and kissed her softly. Jackie was stunned by the sudden outburst but did nothing to stop you. “y/n..” she whispered after pulling away to read the emotions on your face. In attempts to sober up quickly, you looked at Jackie to find a response before admitting “You don’t know how long I was waiting for that.” but you consciously facepalmed yourself. “Oh, god no, sorry Jackie… I didn’t mean it like that… but also I did…” you said slurring and stumbling over your words as Jackie smiled down at you a little amused at your performance. “What I meant to say is thank you, for saving me, and I’m sorry for skipping,” you said still clearly tipsy but Jackie acknowledges your statements. “We’ll talk about it later when you're in a clear headspace and sober.” She said smirking.
You continued your drunken rambles saying “...but I meant the kiss, Jacks… I mean come on! Have you met yourself!” laughing as Jackie starts to walk in the direction of your home that wasn’t too far from the party. She smiles softly at your comment, “Let’s get you back home before you regret something later” chuckling as she wrapped an arm around you to prevent you from falling and injuring yourself as the two walked. “Trust me, I haven’t yet made a decision bad enough that I will regret it! Besides, you’re my knight in shining armor!” gazing up at her with a loving look as she blushed at your comment. “Wait till the other girls find out that you have a soft spot for me! You’ll never hear the end of their teasing.” you continued as she held onto you even tighter. “Well, maybe I would take all the teasing in the world to make sure you are safe.” She admitted and now it was your turn to blush. She truly believes the saying that drunk words are sober thoughts, so she was a little happy that you ended up safe in her arms this night confessing.
Once you got home you clumsily lead her into your backyard to sneak in your bedroom window. You had no idea whether or not your parents were home, but it was better to be safe than sorry to avoid getting caught. Familiar with this route, you put up the ladder to give you access to your roof to climb into your room. She insisted that you would go first so she can stay behind to make sure you don’t accidentally fall and can attempt to catch you. You smiled at her thoughtfulness as you climbed up and entered through the window. Looking back she followed a few steps behind you entering your room. Observing your room she smirked at the posters on your walls and some pictures you had from your childhood and others of you just hanging out with your friends and family. She was quick to go towards your desk to look through your stuff as she saw a Polaroid of you two together where she was kissing your cheek after a game. She smiled at the memory before picking it up to show you “Didn’t know you would have kept this? You could of at least framed it.” she teases as your face turned red. “Oh ummm, I thought it was a good picture and I didn’t have the heart to throw it away…” trailing off gently as you headed off to the bathroom to avoid embarrassment, but also to clean up after the night. Smiling at your reaction she put the photo down “I wish you had a copy of it. I would take it everywhere.” stating lovingly as she did not want to emphasize too much of her feelings for you in your current state. Once you finished cleaning up you exited to pick out a pair of pajamas for yourself, but also picked out a pair for Jackie. “Here” tossing her one of your sweaters and a pair of shorts with a playful smile as you grabbed your own. Jackie caught it a little surprised before stating “I was not planning to stay the night–” before you interrupted “You’re out of your mind if you think I’m going to let you walk back to the party… or for that matter to your house all alone at night. Just stay the night… I promise I won't bite…” smirking as you started to strip and change into your nightwear. She was flustered and had to pry her eyes off of you to save herself from falling even more in love with you before sighing “You’re right…” and was quick to change into your clothes. She embraced the soft floral perfume that lingered on your sweater and already started to plan how she was going to steal it.
Once you both finished your room was filled with light that shone in from your window from the moon and a light breeze. You were quick to get into your bed, but Jackie was nervous as she hesitated slightly. Holding the blanket up for her to get under she could not resist your offer. The silence was comforting but Jackie's thoughts of y/n were taking over her mind.
As you got comfortable, you take a moment to look up at her observing her conflicted facade. “Hey, are you alright?” you questioned her softly before turning in the bed to face her directly. She was suddenly nervous from your actions as a light blush tinted her cheeks, “Yeah, I'm just thinking about the night…I loved that I was able to spend this time with you even if it did not start off great earlier. You know you have to be more careful right?”. Her gaze was now focused on you and your soft features and that made you to be flustered also “I know, I’m sorry. I never really had the opportunity to thank you properly for saving me…” your voice was barely above a whisper as your eyes flickered between her gaze and her lips. Jackie got the hint and gladly reached out to cup your face with one of her hands before she guided you to her lips. The kiss was passionate and left you both breathless as you pulled away to grin at her. “I will forever be grateful for my savior” whispering teasingly as you leaned on her chest and got comfortable. She laughed lightheartedly before wrapping her arms around you as she began to trace patterns gently on your back “Get some sleep, you’re going to have a long day ahead of you tomorrow, sweetheart.” teasing back before gently playing with your hair with her other hand. Humming at her response you smiled in the crook of her neck as you fell asleep. Before Jackie knew it you were out like a light. Smiling softly she kissed the top of your head as she let herself fall asleep knowing her dream woman was safe in her arms.
