who are you when you are not watching tv or movies? when you aren't playing video games or reading a book or fanfiction or listening to music or whatever other kind of media that you engage with? who are you when your mind isn't in another world or story, when you are forced to sit with yourself and the only experience you have is your own sensorial life? can you define yourself outside of what you consume? who is that person? do you like them? can you bear it? can you bear it?

Imam Malik رحمه الله describing the importance of holding firmly to the Sunnah:
“The Sunnah is like the ark of Nuh عليه السلام; whoever embarks on it will be successful and whoever remains behind, will drown.”
[مفتاح الجنة في الاحتجاج بالسنة]
Allah swt sees your daily struggles, He knows your internal dilemmas, He hears your silent questions, He recognizes that you're trying and He appreciates your weak attempts to strive in His path. He would never let your efforts go astray. The reward is coming. The relief is coming. The faraj is coming. Keep going my dear. Never stop trying. Never stop striving. Never stop walking towards Allah swt.

Henry Miller in a letter to Anaïs Nin, A Literate Passion: Letters of Anaïs Nin Henry Miller, 1932-1953
At this point, it's absurd to call Hamas anything but a resistance group that fights fair. We have seen thousands of videos and images of the idf killing, mocking, torturing and abusing Palestinian men, women and children in the most creative of ways. I have yet to see that from Hamas. Whoever condemns Hamas also condemns their right to self defence.
Hamas are made up mostly of orphans, orphaned by the hands of the idf. These people have every right to be angry, to resist living in an open air prison and being persecuted every day while the world sides with their oppressors. You'd be lying if you said you wouldn't be too, and yet they are not the ones indiscriminately killing civilians.
I'm tired of hearing 'I don't condone it but I can't blame them'. Stop beating around the bush and admit that you too would take up arms to defend yourself and your loved ones in the face of a brutal and unending occupation. Being passive doesn't bring about peace, it only allows ease in your destruction. Their rights, which were and have been taken by force for almost 80 years, can only be returned by force. That's a right none of us should speak against unless we're willingly giving up that right for ourselves.
