The "kids are on their damn phones all the time" conversation has changed in an extremely significant way and I'm not sure people realize it. When kids had flip phones, and even in the early days of smartphones, kids were using their phones to text each other. It was part of an active social life. Now they're using their phones more and more to consume content from influencers or other accounts. It's more passive and it's increasingly what people are doing instead of socializing with each other. This applies to adults too, I just keep thinking about high school students.

This is to all the indigenous peoples who have been fighting against capitalism and colonialism for hundreds of years. To the adults teaching kids and teens in their area about direct action. This is to all the leftist theorists that gave us a basis to learn from, the activists that gave young people protections to keep fighting for equal rights, the teachers and speakers out there making leftist theory accessible, and the adults helping back youth led movements to keep kids safe.

im isobel and i hate to do this but kind im of fucked rn, im unemployed, no jobs have gotten back to me in like 3 months and i’m struggling to keep the lights on and gas in my car let alone food for myself. debt and bills are starting to pile up on top of everyday life maintenance and ive been making the choice to go to bed hungry rather than risk any more losses.

im trying my hardest to get out of the state or at least to secure some kind of employment to start getting to the point where i can. its an “anything helps” type situation but i’m shooting for 200 for food and utilities

I just think it would be extremely funny if the irelands got back together and wales and scotland passed independence referendums under Charles bc it'd be like waiting until your mom died to come out

i like working at plant store. sometimes you ring up someone and there's a slug on their plant and so you're like "Oh haha you've got a friend there let me get that for you" and you put the slug on your hand for safekeeping but then its really busy and you dont have time to take the slug outside before the next customer in line so you just have a slug chilling on your hand for 15 minutes. really makes you feel at peace with nature. also it means sometimes i get to say my favorite line which is "would you like this free slug with your purchase"
