Orange Side Theory: Malus

So y'all know how everyone is like “Hey, the new side is going to be Rage/Anger” and other types of shit like that. Well I was reading a fanfic were there was a new side and his name was Malice or Mal and Malice means like “Intent to do evil” and I was like “Hey, Malice could be spelled like Malus cause they kinda sound the same, what if that was the name of the new side haha” and then everything just stopped. And then I was like “Hey, I wonder if the name Malus has any sort of Greek or Roman meaning and I looked it up and…

MALUS DOMESTICA: SCIENTIFIC NAME FOR APPLE TREE?

WHAT? Also, while looking up the word Malus it usually means something like “evil” and “apple” (Forbidden fruit?)

Anyway, it would pretty much fit with the thing that’s going on with c!Thomas right now. Him not wanting to be evil and shit. 

ALSO?? USED BY VIRGIL? POET VIRGIL? ROMAN POET VIRGIL?

Listen, I might be off my rockers and I don’t really know if anyone has like, already connected these dots as well. But I feel like I might be onto something at least. Let me know what you think and what your theories are as well! Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

P.S I might put more shit into this theory the more I come up with it but idk. I just really like this idea.

Edit 1: OOP, TIME FOR ANOTHER ADD ON, the name would fit with all the Dark Sides names ending in us.

Edit 2: So, while looking at the theory again and looking at sites and shit my thought process was “What if the animal trait that the orange side gets is a crab because of crab apples?” (Crabs are kinda orange I guess idfk this is fucking hilarious, Also, Malus also means “Mast of a ship” Pirate crab side?)

Edit 3: Apples, they got a sweet exterior but if you get to the middle of them they got poisonous seeds. On the surface, c!Thomas is a good person, but when you get down to it, everyone has some type of darkness in them whether they like it or not. 

Edit 4: I’m back on my shit and still looking so fucking deep into this I am so sorry but it’s just so much fun to theorize, so what do crabs represent? Well, apparently according to this site https://symbolismandmetaphor.com/crab-symbolism-spirit-animal/ they represent:

Change and growth, adaptability, defensiveness, resilience, self-reliance and a journey. And is that not what c!Thomas is going through? A whole journey about change and growth.

it’s pretty common knowledge that flames and fire commonly represent anger. In the most recent Sanders Asides, Working Through Intrusive Thoughts, we get a glimpse of Logan’s eyes turning orange as he is consumed by anger. After the episode was posted, Thomas posted this on Twitter:

I have seen some people headcanon Logan and Orange as twins. And can I say, I absolutely love that suggestion.

The thing with Logan being Logic is that he's rational, he tends to be impartial and objective. People say he lacks emotion but it's more that the majority of his decisions/actions are not emotionally motivated, like it would be for the others. He's reasoning, the difference between the factual right and wrong, how you work out semantics of things when given context. He is, above all else, well... logical.

Wrath is far from that. It's irrational, highly emotional, subjective, illogical. You don't need a reason to hate someone sometimes, you know? Sometimes you just get this gut instinct that you should despise them. Small things can build until the wrathful side of you lets loose (an example being Thomas' frustration with Nico supposedly ignoring him until he momentarily snaps). Everything Wrath encourages Thomas to do will be emotionally motivated purely by his nature.

Wrath isn't exactly the opposite of logic as such but man, would they make some pretty interesting foils for each other. Not to mention that blue and orange are complementary colours, the same way red and green are to each other.

Okay but Logan having met the orange side before, and just not knowing it because he wasn't wearing his glasses at the time. So he just thought that Virgil was being a little extra spicy that day, and sat with him in the kitchen making him coffee while just talking about random stuff he was researching.

So when the orange side does his big reveal, and says:

"Logic, we meet again~"

Logan has no idea what he's talking about.
