obligatory adonis fiancée theory: it could be an arranged marriage, maybe even with a member of the Sakumas (i.e. some distant cousin of Rei) but I think it would be sweet and in-character if it was actually a beard engagement and Adonis had agreed to marry a lesbian friend from back home to shield her from judgement. akira has been interested in writing about queer NPCs’ struggles a lot lately (e.g. nobunaga-sensei from akatsuki climax and shu's grandpa) so it wouldn't be a shock!
im absolutely euphoric looking at the lyrics of swingin' paroniria, it's like the cutest sweetest most fun sequel to forbidden rain. instead of a sad song about the monstrous singer pushing away their human lover for "their own good" and repressing their true feelings, it's a silly song about the monstrous singer accidentally catching (reciprocated) feelings for a fling to their increasing horror, wrapped in the extended metaphor of a neverending nightmare. what's more undead than that? adonis' last line being "You're absolutely terrifying... BEAUTIFUL" it's hilarious and heartwarming all at once. it seems the singer's lover is a bit of a monster themselves ❤️ they've come so far, and i'm so proud of them

I know someone who calls herself a feminist, puts her pronouns in her work email signature, donates money to women’s empowerment funds, and thinks we should deport more refugees. Of these two people, I know who is on my team, and who I want on my team, yet the standard liberal feminist calculation would have me chose the woman who loves a little deportation over the man who is occasionally uncouth, solely because the woman knows to keep her language civil, and the man doesn’t. Liberal feminists get incredibly caught up in the politics of language, because language is all they have. They don’t have a revolutionary programme for overthrowing patriarchy, so they’re forced to tinker around the edges of it, quibbling over word choice and jargon instead of building the coalitions necessary for destroying patriarchy.
