AHHH I’M SO HAPPYYYYY!

Please watch Wendell & Wild.
Not just because it’s a Halloween classic in the making.
Not just because it has a unique art style.
Not just because it has decent trans rep (which is cool to see it get more attention in recent years).
And not just because it has Key and Peele playing the best characters in the movie.
Watch Wendell & Wild to prove that animation can cater to more than just kids. This movie is PG-13 (but a 90s PG), meaning it’s more for older audiences without relying on constant cursing, grotesque violence, and ludicrous amounts of sex and drugs. Instead, it uses creativity and genuinely good writing to tell a story that, while not really too intense for kids, it’s at least a lot more advanced for them. And that’s great. I want more animation that appeals to a vast majority of audiences of many ages and proves that type of animated content can be successful so people can stop saying animation is just for kids. But it’s not. Anybody of any age should be able to enjoy animation and all its strengths, and the best way to do that is to give movies like Wendell & Wild a shot.
So, please, watch it.
My one hope after Wendell & Wild is that Henry Selick finally starts getting the credit he deserves. Tim Burton did not make Nightmare Before Christmas and he didn’t make Coraline or any of those other movies, that was all Henry and it’s about time people say his name instead
Already watched it… IT WAS SO GOOD!
Hey babes the movie “Wendell & Wild” is out on Netflix now, how about you support a film with a mostly black cast, a canonically trans character, stop-motion animation which is incredibly hard to do and rare to find, a unique style and more important than all of that: an original story and idea. It’s a very fun family film for older kids/ preteens but it did so many things that will have so many groups boycott it. So give it a watchy-watch and then yell about it on twitter or tiktok or whatever you cool people use. Do it for me! <3

Synopsis
From the delightfully wicked minds of Henry Selick (director of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline) and Jordan Peele (Nope, Us, Get Out) comes the story of Kat (Lyric Ross), a troubled teen haunted by her past, who must confront her personal demons, Wendell & Wild (played by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) to start a new life in her old hometown.
Animated horror...that's rated pg-13...with an actual black girl as the lead...with a natural hairstyle...in goth/alternative outfits...in a religious boarding school setting...and funny demon buddies who are also black...directed by Jordan Peele...with stop motion animation...BY HENRY SELICK??!

Absolutely love Code Lyoko, and one of the best things about it is that the 12 year old protagonists were entirely rational when it was important.
Like, they wanted nothing more than to shut down the super computer, but waited until everyone was safe to do so. None of them developed some hero complex and tried to keep the computer alive just so they could keep saving the world. They wanted nothing to do with that bull.
But one thing that fucking terrifies me about that show is that they kept emphasizing that “if someone dies, going back in time WILL NOT bring them back”.
It’s never “It MIGHT not bring them back, so we’re not taking that risk.”, it’s always a 100% guaranteed thing, these kids KNOW that if someone dies, reseting won’t bring them back.
There is literally only one way these kids would know this for certain.
Not only did someone die, but at LEAST one of these 12-14 year old kids witnessed it. And judging by the various ways XANA has attempted to murder these children and their peers- it probably wasn’t pretty.
These children witnessed a murder and are determined to never let that shit happen again. Which exactly why, as soon as they could do so without losing their friend, they shut that computer the fuck down.
I think about this way too often.

While I always condone piracy from large corporations, it should never be the only means of watching a movie or series, since it both limits the audience and hurts the careers of those involved, especially with the absence of physical media releases and the attempt to seemingly erase all evidence of them from the internet.
The important thing to do now is continue to spread awareness and support of those series so that they remain in the public consciousness. That includes sharing torrents, making your own copies (preferably physical ones) and creating fan content so that more people know about them.
We shouldn’t have to deal with an entire generation of lost media just because some penny-pinching cunt on a stick decided that they’re not worth supporting anymore.
Zelda is right. Return the rights. They're taking off all this shit for tax purposes and so that they don't have to pay residuals but worse than that, for a great deal of projects, they also own the rights meaning these projects can never be available anywhere else.
These people deserved better
